This was a really comfortable, well-made and beautifully styled boot with plenty of room for my wide toes in spite of the pointy look. Two problems for me: 1) You can't really see online, but it's only black at the toe and heel, then shades to dark brown, and is very definitely dark brown towards the top of the boot near where a dress hem would be. The mismatch is really obvious in person near black fabric, these just shouldn't be categorized with the rest of the black boots. 2) The front lip pressed into my knee just a little up from the bottom of my kneecap, bunching the skin of the knee above it in a way that was really unattractive and had me wondering about blisters. If they'd been about an inch shorter in front, wouldn't have been a problem. But alas.

Oh how I love this boot, let me count the ways. So much so that I have it in the black and the brown. I wear a size 10.5 and had to go with the 11 so the snip toe which is long took some getting used to...but I tried them on in the store first and the sales rep told me to look at them from the side, they don't look nearly as long, I just had to adjust to the snip toe. Also if I could wear these boots every day all day I would, they are that darn comfortable. They are supposed to be tight across the top of your foot and your heel is supposed to slide up and down a little. I wore my boots around the house and broke them in and they are perfect. I am a plus size woman and in some boots I have to by wide calf, I was able to wear these boots with skinny jeans and zip them up with no problems at all. I do think that the calf size is relevant to the foot size so if you have smaller feet but larger calves it may not work for you... My calf is 15 inches and these fit fine. I will be rocking them with a dress next. I get compliments every time I wear them they are so unique. They hit me right at the knee, but I am 5"10". I do know Ariat is no longer making these boots so if you luck up and find a pair you should probably buy them. You won't be disappointed.

I loved this boot, but unfortunately had to return it. My foot fit perfectly but the calf circumference is not 16inches. The opening is but where the widest part of your calf is, is not. If the circumference actually measured where the widest part of the calf was it would have been perfect. So sad I had to return this boot.

Absolutely gorgeous boot. Love the cream inset. Stiff, so expect the usual breaking in. Unfortunately, despite checking the listed measurements, it won't zip around my calf. Guess boots are only for twiglets this year as my old boots still fit. Sigh...have to return one gorgeous, quality boot.

I am not usually one to write a review, but just had to. I eagerly awaited for these boots to arrive. Couldn't wait to try them on when the arrived today. They were everything I had wanted! The style I have hoped for but because of a high instep (and most boots don't have zippers) I can't get them on. These went on great (granted all boots need a break in). The style is beautiful. Can't wait for fall weather and skinny jeans. We have several events and I will definitely be wearing them. Size was true to my normal 7. Yippee!

Absolutely stunning, and one of the nicest quality boots that I have ever tried. I loved them, but although they seemed to fit fine, they were a bit snug through my upper arch (on top), and my toes didn't even come close to the ends. They bordered on looking like clown feet, they run so long. I hate to bash them as they were so nicely made, and really pretty, but it was not a look I could embrace.

Love these boots! They are high, I am 6ft and they are about knee high on me. A dark brown, not black. Sassy and good for smart wear.

While I would not call these "black," I would call them quite possibly the coolest boots ever! They are more of a very dark brown with a black toe-tip. Which I actually liked better - made them look antique-ey. As for the fit, I am surprised that at least one person said they ran large, because I took a chance and ordered the smallest size they came in (5.5), even though I usually wear size 4.5 - 5 because I loved them enough to take the risk, and they fit me great (with a pair of thick-ish socks). So it seems to me that they must run a little on the small side. Go ahead - buy a pair...you know you want to.

I own a lot of Ariat boots, especially for riding. Their quality and comfort is second to none. Although these were fashion boots, they were no exception. All the features I would expect of Ariat boots were there. They fit like true cowboy boots. If you do not like the way traditional cowboy boots fit, you will not like these, either. But for me they were prefect. They are truly gorgeous (I have the cognac color) and they attract a lot of attention.

I love these boots! However, I am sending them back due to size. They are too snug for me even without socks. But the design is really nice and I can certainly see why others get those great comments from people. I ordered the brown and they were beautiful. I wanted to fit in them badly. Oh well, will try another. I can't say enough about Zappos service -- Wonderful, always dependable!

These are absolutely awesome! They are beautiful. I ordered half a size up to make rooom for socks and to get as much width at the shaft as I could. They fit like a dream. I have only worn once because they just arrived yesterday but I have already received about a million compliments.

These are beautiful boots, but they "bend" across my lower leg just above my ankle at the top of the sewn on leather and that made them too painful for me to walk in.

I'm 5'8'' and these boots hit right at the knee cap. I can feel the boot a little bit on my knee when I bend my leg. I honestly can only feel the boot on my knee when I don't have jeans on underneath. But overall they are comfortable and I get a ton of compliments on them.

I wish these boots came in "C" width like I wish lots of other shoes had that option. Our baby boomer generation now have feet that have gotten not only bigger but wider and we have bunions! Your feet change as you get older and the US has a bazillion baby boomers out there wearing shoes, get with it you guys. Come on, Ariat, start the ball rolling. These boots are awesome the minute you put your feet in them. My feet felt like they had been wrapped in comfort. Escept over time, my bunion wakes up and starts throbbing and I can't wear them any longer than 4-5 hours. They're show stoppers for sure. Wore mine to Panera for a Western Dressage meeting last night and interrupted the whole meeting when I walked in! Fun fun fun. Love the cut out along the top, love the fact you didn't chop them straight across the top and made them like a Spanish top on dressage boots, they match my new Western Dressage saddle perfectly for when I am showing my horse, love the fact you put a safe sole on them, love the lower heel so I can wear them to barn and to ride in, love that healthy leather feel, love the height of the shaft so I can wear my jeans tucked in, love the price, except I do wish they had some embellishment on the vamp that would show when my jeans and show pants are not tucked in. That pretty much covers it for me. A great, fashionista boot that I can ride in too. You did well, could still do better, but a great start!

Very sexy boot and comfortable too. Great with skirts and pants. The color is like a faded black - more feminine than regular black.

Beautiful shoe, but needs a lot of breaking in. The leather is very stiff, especially around the ankles - my first time wearing them and I had blisters from the rubbing. I hope it will not take long before the leather softens, because I like them very much.

After reading other reviews I thought I would order these boots because I have been looking at them for months and love the look of them. Unfortunately the reviews that said the boot cut right into the knee cap was correct and it just bothers me to much to keep them. I thought the boot itself was comfortable and I have two other pairs of cowgirl boots that I love! I've been looking for another similar pair that isn't so high and won't cut into my knee. I'm going to give the Ariat Sahara a try.

These are some really beautiful boots. However, I found that they were really hugely sized. I ordered my usual size and with the pointed toe and the extra they looked really huge! In length! The detailing and the leather is just stunning. I'm also very tall, 5' 11", and they came up so high on my knees that they made me walk funny as the leather is kind of stiff there. Anyway really nice!

These boots are absolutely gorgeous and the detailing is beautiful. I wanted so badly to keep them, but they just did not look quite right on me. The detailed portion at the top flares out a little and I felt it was unflattering, as another customer had said. Plus they felt a little bit too tall. But maybe my legs are a little too short! They were also a tad too tight in the calf area for me to wear over jeans. Because of that I decided I would not wear them enough to justify the money, although I feel the quality of the boot is well worth it. They just did not work for me so I am sadly returning them.

Big bummer...I really wanted these boots and waited a long time to order them however I'm disappointed in the shaft fit. I'm tall, with long legs. I ordered these knowing they would be longer than most boots and hit close to the knee, which they did. The problem though was top part of the boot where the detail is flared out at a very unflattering way, making my slim calves look extremely wide. The color was perfect; however, not a true black but a black brown.
