With all the snow and ice we have been getting here in the Northeast, I needed a boot that was warm and waterproof. This DVS does the trick. Love the look too. The green laces that come with the shoes is a cool alternative. And as always, Zappos delivery was quick.

My son love these boots. They are absolute beautiful. Please be warn they are a little heavy but perfect for cold weather.

Great boots for when its cold outside. Not only do the boots function well, they also look good, and can be worn when going out in the winter. The boots are very warm, so I wouldn't wear them when its 40 or above. Check these bad boys out, they are worth it.

These boots are sweet. Very light, and wear like a sneaker and fit well. I wear an 11.5 and they fit well. You could double up socks and likely you will have enough room. The laces draw in the shoe to tighten up so they are not tight fitting, you have some room. It is comfortable though and the boot really moves with your foot, very flexible. I would say these are more stylish than anything else. I got the gray color which comes with orange laces and a spare black pair. I'm going with the orange, they make the orange sticking in the sole pop. FYI, for those people who think the laces are too long, they are not, you are supposed to double lace them. Do not just criss cross up the boot through the eyelets like you would do with a normal shoe. Go side to side twice, then criss cross up each row, then repeat. This gives you the perfect length of lace AND it keeps the laces in place. If you do not lace this way, the laces are super loose and you'll spend more time than needed tying your shoe every time you put them on, and you'll have 10" of lace left over. Trust me on this one. PS. The photo of the boot does not show this. As far as cold weather goes, other than the neoprene sleeve that your foot fits into, the boot is not very insulated. The sleeve fits around your ankle and upper part of your foot, but not your lower foot or toes. I'm not sure if this can be really considered insulation, but it is an added layer of padding. The part where you really need insulation is at your toes, so I would double up with some warm wool socks. Again, this is subjective, depending on what you are wearing these to do and how cold it really is. All i know is that when it's 10 degrees, and you are out for 3 hours, you are likely going to need very warm socks. The nubuck/suede is super soft and flexible and you definitely are going to need to spray them with a kiwi or scotch-guard suede protector.

Shoe is very warm. The inner liner is nice because it stays tight around the foot, even if the shoe is longer (to compensate for the width)!

Very comfortable shoe, great look and very warm. Also, a high quality product with a very good finishing. The shoe, however, is not really water proof as said in the description. Also with mentioning, the support from Zappos team is very good and reponsive.

Good boot for casual winter time use. The neoprene cuff is a little weird but it insulates well. This boot is sturdily constructed so you will ride high and dry over the slush and ice, but don't expect to hike through powder and stay dry. Replace the red laces with plain black and you have a very stylish yet understated winter boot that isn't too bulky.

Love them, they are really comfortable and look amazing but there are some cons. When I walk and I bend my feet, it creates a mark in the upper side between the tip and the laces. The laces are way too long, I don't know if they are meant to be double laced but they are a pain in the but. It hasn't snowed yet so I cannot tell about the water proof feature. Hopefully they will work. Other than these, I love these boots!

I'm wearing them right now. They are warm, snug, and water tight. They have yet to feel snow, however, based on their handling of the world so far I think they'll do fine. They come with two pairs of laces, green and black, both of which I think are far too long. Easy to clean, and light enough. You should buy these and stop being such a Nancy.

Not snow worthy. Sorry, DVS. These are great looking boots, and quite comfortable. But "Snow" boots, they are not. Bought these a couple weeks ago, and the first snow fell in my area yesterday. In a 7 minute walk from home to work, in merely a couple inches of snow, the boots soaked through. Any snow collecting over the bottom lace loops will seep past the tongue and soak the top of your foot. On day 2 of snow weather, water came through the front right toe cup and dampened my toe. I put them through an extremely mild snow trial and unfortunately they didn't pass. It's sad, because these are otherwise great boots on all fronts.

I've had these boots for 2 months now and really liked them until yesterday. I was walking home when it started to rain. I had 2 blocks left to walk until I got home where when I took off my shoes I noticed one pair was ripped. That little bit of weather caused the leather to tear horizontally along the arch from the heel to the toe. The tear extends the whole length of the arch. I'm really disappointed in the poor craftsmanship. For the price these boots should have at least lasted a couple years.
