"Zowy" perfectly reflects what I love in Born shoes, and is well worth the wait (I was on The List for some time). My feet are a challenge for any shoe. Toes have had surgery (and will have more); my arch is so high it rules out many brands; skinny heels combine with a normal forefoot to create an odd shape that cause many styles to rub blisters; and sadly, no inexpensive shoes work -- I'd be barefoot but for Zappos, whose selection, excellent service, and incredible mailing system allow me to wear shoes. "Zowy"'s name is inspired: How can you not love something with that name? And it lives up to it: I wore my Zowys four days straight when they came, doing different (but all on my feet) things each day, and have yet to complain. As with all my Borns, texture and hue (tobacco suede) are precisely what I'd hoped; trim would be too western for my taste if there were even one more piece -- but Born knows when to stop, so they're perfect in that regard. Comfort, great heel height (even at my 5'9"), good looks. Couldn't ask for more than Zappos' perfection and Born's. Buy them quickly or, like me, get on the waiting list.

These shoes amazed me with comfort! I wore them all day and no pain. I have wide forefoot and narrow heel and must have arch support, these really did the trick and look great.

These shoes are adorable and very comfortable! I'm on my feet all day and I also don't have a car, so I'm literally walking everywhere all the time. It's important for me to look professional but still be comfortable, and this shoe does just that. I've worn them without socks, which works, but I think they'd be best with some of those footies, which I plan on purchasing. You can't wear socks (even thin socks) with them. I definitely recommend!

These are so comfortable! I can hardly wait to wear these. They feel broken in right out of the box. I bought these for travel with lots of walking on cobblestone streets. They are quite stylish, but not too high and will go with everything. I read previous reviews and ordered my normal 8½ size, although other Borns I have bought fit me better with an 8. This was also true of the Zowies. My regular size was too long - lots of extra empty space past my toes. Of course, Zappos is sending my replacements tomorrow, free of charge. I love Zappos! These boots are going to be fabulous. What is one more day?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shoes. In fact this is the second pair I bought because I don't want to be without them when the first pair wears out! They are comfortable right out of the box, no breaking in period at all. Look great with jeans, which is mainly what I wear them with. I get compliments on them every time I wear them. Buy them, you wouldn't be sorry. If fact, I'm thinking of getting them in black if they are available. I bought a different style in black and it's not as comfortable as the Zowy. If you are thinking about getting these shoes, do it, you won't be sorry.

Loved these right out of the box...wore them through the winter and I can still get away with wearing them in these early spring days that have been rainy. They span both boot and shoe functions and I always get compliments on the style.

These are fantastic shoes. I live in northern MN where we have snow on the ground 6 months out of the year and I can't sing enough praises about the durability of these shoes. I've had them over a year now and the only sign of wear they show is that the suede finish is worn down a bit where my jeans rub against them. Even so, they still look great and the comfort is beyond my expectations.

Took these boots out of the box, put them on, and hoofed it around DC for the evening. They arrived feeling broken in – like I had been wearing them for ages. Really comfortable.

I bought these shoes in December, hoping to find some comfortable shoes to bring on a trip to Europe. I loved the fact that I could pack these shoes in a fraction of the space my cowboy boots take. Well true to Born's reputation, these boots were fantastic. People gave me tons of compliments. The majority of the days we spent walking and exploring the city block after block. I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Barcelona and nearby towns of Catalunya. The Zowys held up on the cobble stone streets as well dirt trails and a 5 block run for the metro. They required no break in time at all, and like most decent leather shoes the leather formed to my feet, not sloppy or too tight. I don't know if I will ever go back to wearing my actual cowboy boots, which up until now were my favorite footwear.

Oh yes, love this shoe! I am reluctant to wear them with all this snow on the ground, though. They fit great - plenty of toe room, and look great too.

These shoes are amazing! They are my favorite pair to wear. I bought them in brown and love to wear them so much, I find myself trying to buy more clothing in the browns to match. I finally decided today to just go ahead and order them in black too. They are super comfortable, the heel height is perfect for me. I can be on my feet all day long in these shoes. I highly recommend them.

I love these shoes. They're comfortable, and look good with dress pants and jeans. When I wear them with jeans, people comment on what great boots they are--I love that!

Love these shoes and comfortable from the minute I put them on. Have worn them several times and they are perfect.

These are really comfortable and right away. I'm picky about the feel of a shoe because I have had some foot problems. Theses have just felt comfortable. I have been out in snow in them and they don't slip around. I wear 8 to 8.5 and 8 is perfect in theses for me. I think the look is really cute. I'm not a fan of high boots so theses are perfect for me. They look great with jeans and are fun to wear on a night out. If you are looking for a rugged hiking boot, theses may not. Be for you.

I like these shoes. Worn with pants, they look like boots. They are very comfortable. I wore them all day right out of the box.

Super comfy right out of the box! Love the look but I have a couple of brown boots and needed this one in black - but it hasn't been in stock in my size. Would love to keep this just because of how good it looks but I wear only black pants or jeans and the black boot really will be better for that.

A very stylish and shockingly comfortable shoe. I have a hammer toe and bunions and can still wear this shoe with no problems. Colour me amazed!

Great everyday shoes. I can wear them with pants or dresses and they were comfortable out of the box. I had ordered about 10 pairs of shoes that had this same look, some were less expensive and some were much more (Frye) and these were the clear winners. Thanks to Zappos I easily sent the rest back and kept these. Great purchase!

I was worried about the size, as non-narrow shoes these days are often too wide for me. In fact, I never bought a pair of Borns before because they were all too wide when I tried them on in the store. But I loved the look of these and ordered them in 7 1/2 and 8. The 8s fit perfectly! So far they're sturdy and even have decent arch support! They look great, well-balanced and not too cowboy-ish, despite the heel. I've worn them with black tights and short skirts, with skinny jeans, and with regular slacks. Very happy with this purchase. Zappos delivery and return were fast and painless as always.

I love these shoes. I have size 11 feet and I am a little wide in the ball of my foot but not my heel. These shoes fit the wider front of my foot and yet do not slip off the back of my narrow heel. The slightly higher ankle height of the shoe and the fit achieved by having a zipper (rather than just slip on) prevents them from slipping off my heels. The height of the back of the shoe is perfect and does not rub on my ankles. I did not order the wider width, just the regular width. These shoes are super comfortable, I can wear them all day, the footbed is comfortable and nothing rubs on my toes or my heels. My feet are not tired at the end of the day and I feel that they have a lot of support They could look like cowboy boots but they are actually dressier than that. I wear them with jeans and casual work pants.

These are my new favorite shoes! Comfy! Heel is not too high and I can dress them up or dress down.

I love these shoes! Very versatile and comfortable. However, after reading reviews that said that they fit true to size ... I felt I should write that I had the same experience that the one person who wrote that she needed to go up one half size. I also had to exchange for one half size up. They were just a bit to tight. I believe that it is most likely due to my foot being a bit wider though. So, if you have regular or slender feet I'd say go with your usual size.
