The shoe comes up to high and rubs the Achilles tendon. My father actually woke up the next day with this area swollen and almost unable to walk from just walking around the house a few hours trying to decide if he was going to like these shoes. I purchased for him because I wanted a good shoe for the ice and snow. They were the right size for him but the back of the shoe apparently was gripping the back of his foot rather tightly which caused him great discomfort, to the point that he was unable to really walk the next day. Beware!

I purchased these mocs specifically for wearing in the cold and wet, sometimes icy winter conditions. They are very comfortable, are very functional, and after wearing them for a while now, they still look great. Unfortunately, the top of the stiff plastic molds inside the heels have cracked, splintered, and poked through the liner. I couldn't figure out why I was getting holes worn through the heels of my socks, finally after feeling scratching on my heel, figured out that it happened every time I wore these mocs for the day. My feet slip into these very easily, so it wasn't a matter of my bending the moc heels putting them on.

I LOVED these when they arrived in April. Comfortable, sturdy, and good-looking. Now, just shy of 6 months later, they have completely deteriorated. They leak—a lot!—they make my feet hurt, and just walking across my dew-y lawn soaks the leather uppers and they stay wet all day. Quite a contrast with my previous pairs of Merrells, which lasted years!

I really liked these shoes when I first got them, but they don't hold together very well. The rubber toe started disintegrating after only a few months and both the inner tongue and the ankle section under the pull tab fell apart as well. They're advertised as waterproof, but if you step in anything higher than an inch or so it'll seep through. Pretty disappointing. If you want a shoe that really holds up - buy Eccos.

The shoe was much too narrow to get on my foot. I have a pair of Merrell slip ons marked as 11 but has no indication of width. I thought a medium would be close but I need a wide, I guess.

These shoes are not worth the price for the quality! Within 3 months of purchase I noticed small tears in the rubber membrane connecting the sole to the brushed leather uppers. Needless to say they leak like a sieve and the longer I wear them, the tears are expanding and more have surfaced. Some the tears were experienced from simple light hiking in the woods inflicted by branches on the paths and trails. If you really wear your shoes...these are not durable.

I loved the shiver moc originals--they must have changed their last for this shoe as it seems much narrower. I love my Merrells so I am going to try the jungle moc in a wide width. hope its similar in traction, warmth and dryness. Also, the top of the shoe--the tongue if you will---cuts into the top of my ankles so badly. I tried wearing these around the house to see if they would break in but my feet were going numb from that tongue tightness, yet I had plenty of room for my toes wouldn't want to go any larger in size for sure.

So sadly disappointed in this shoe. I've owned Merrell shoes for years, but only the second time I put these shoes on, one of the back heel tabs broke. They are so comfortable and I love the tread for winter, but I had to return them.
