I previously had an older commuter Timbuk2 bag that was a medium size, but moved to this type in the small size. There was a slight size difference, as expected, but almost everything I took with me in my medium bag fit inside of this one. The strap is very comfortable and adjusts to the exact size I need, and the organization inside of the bag is perfect.

I love the bag and have used it for school so far. My old bag from you has more pockets, but was also larger. I would also say that your products are very durable, but I guess that is covered under high quality.

I use this bag for carrying my books and computer for class and it's fantastic! Hold all of my materials and has plenty of space. It's also a great color and very durable. This is my second Timbuk2 bag, and for sure won't be my last!!!

Best bag ever. For 3 years, I had a Patagonia bag that wasn't water-resistant, and prior to that, 2 Trager bags that were fabulous, but Trager is out of business. This is better than the Tragers--trim and compact but sufficient room for everything I need--laptop, phone, papers, books, iPad, accessories, water bottles--for daily commuting to NYC and frequent air travel. Completely satisfied after 1 day and now two months.

I loooove this bag. It's so stylish yet easy to use for traveling. It doesn't seem too big, but while taking an international flight, I fit so much in there (I got size medium). I essentially used this to carry everything for two days (ended up being more because my bag was lost for two more days). Perfect fit for everything and it looks very timeless.

I bought this as a carry on for a trip to see my daughter in Paris- and I had plenty of room for what I needed traveling. Back in the States it is a great bag to take to the office. Comfortable, roomy, wonderful. Much lighter than my 14 year old leather Victorinox bag- which I loved, but the change in weight is lovely.

Use it mainly for taking a few things to and from work. I love how easy it is to get to my laptop and charger on the zip pocket. It's also super easy to get to stuff stored in the front while wearing the bag!

I have used a well worn leather bag as an air travel carry-on for 20+ years, holding a laptop and tablet and other related items, but it lacked quick access to items without having to open the front or rear flap. So I began to search for a classic leather bag as a replacement, but then came across a couple of nylon bags and the weight difference crossed my mind as my leather bag was a bit heavy.
I researched several brands before coming across Timbuk2 and after finding the right size bag, it was a no-brainer. The value for a quality bag is undeniable.
I took my first flight with it and it was nearly perfect. 180 opening for computer/tablet works perfectly for TSA, and the weight is so much easier to carry!

I foolishly gave the wrong address on my delivery order due to a recent move, sending my bag to an old address. I let the good people here at Timbuk2 know of the error and they didn't even ask any questions. They just sent me out a new bag. I appreciate the great service and the bag is even better than I thought it would be. I would recommend this company to anyone. Thanks!

Most of the time, messenger bags are bags that can carry your laptop and some writing utensils/paper, maybe a book. This bag goes beyond that average messenger bag. It carries all of the stuff that I need to carry around. I can fit my 15.6 in Acer Laptop, wallet, phone, chargers for both my laptop and phone, legal pads and pens, my college books, with some room for more. When not being used for school, this bag has enough space for two days worth of clothes when I travel home for the weekend. The bag looks great and has a premium/durable feel to it, which is great. The only negatives that I saw are the shoulder strap and the outside front pocket on the bag. Although the shoulder strap is comfortable and makes carrying things easier, it is a bit long and because of this, I am unable to get the snug feel that I would want against my back. The outside front pocket of the bag is only big enough to carry my wallet. I have to store my phone inside the bag. It isn't really a negative to me but it is kind of a bother if you want to be able to have easy access to both of these things. Overall this bag is one that I would highly recommend. If you run errands a lot and don't want to have something as bulky as a backpack, this is the bag for you.

I use this bag as my work bag - usually has my small purse, lotion, water bottle, books, a tablet, miscellaneous items..... I love it so far!! Holds up great in the rain, carries tons of items, and works really well for walking across campus! Main con is that I got a medium, and as a small female, it's maybe a bit too big on me. But the adjustable strap helps with that!

This is the second Timbk2 bag I've owned. I bought this one for the separate zippered outside compartment for a laptop and tablet. Great briefcase design for commuting and travel: design anticipates well how you will use the bag.

This is my work bag. I like that I can put a lot of things in it. And still have space for my laptop. The strap positioning clamp gets loose from time to time

My only complaint is I just need a brief case style. I have chosen messanger style because it always works. Highly recommend.

Thanks once again for providing the perfect bag to tote my computer and work stuff in an organized fashion. Having retired my older Timbuk2 bag (16+ years in service!), I figured that any replacement would've suffered a slight come-down in workmanship, materials, etc, because that's how things go with most companies. I'm so happy to report that I was wrong...new bag is excellent! Hooray for Timbuk2!

I needed a bigger bag that could hold my new work laptop, along with everything else a small business owner needs throughout the day going client to client. This bag has delivered.
The back pouch easily stores my 15.x inch laptop and also serves to free up the main compartment to store notepads, books, and other bigger items. There are enough smaller pouches for everything else I carry throughout the day as well.
The strap is comfy and more than big enough, even when wearing a bulky winter coat. I've actually used the top handle just as much as the strap, but that too is well made. I've only had it a month or so, but I have no complaints about the bag so far!

I had heard of and seen several Timbuk 2 products, so I knew this company made high quality, intelligently designed products. The Commute Messenger Bag I ordered was exactly as expected. Nice looking, well made. Worth the cost.

Finally, a bag that does not require me to use the velcro closures!
I've some mobility/comfort issues because of 20+ years of rheumatoid arthritis- this bag worked with and for me. No tears! No asking someone to open or close it for me!

This bag is the perfect size for carrying my DSLR camera, 3 extra lenses, flash, and other small accessories. It's also great for carrying my equipment without advertising the fact that I'm carrying a few thousand dollars worth of camera in it.
