These jeans are great just like shrink to fit 501s (rigid). They feel and fit like "regular" 501s with similar shrinkage. I really like the yellow color and am complete happy with them. Wish 501 shrink to fit jeans were available in red and white colors.

The quality is great. However, these are REALLY purplish red. More purple than red. They just weren't the color that I was looking for.

After reading numerous articles on how to properly shrink 501s, I believe I have found the correct way to ensure a good fit. First put them on without underwear, sit in a tub of hot water for 30 minutes and drink some Basil Hayden. Take your pants off (make sure to draw the blinds first, oops!) and put in wash for 2 cycles with fabric softener in rinse cycle. Put wet pants on (more Basil Hayden as needed) and sit for 1 hour. Take pants off (blinds still closed) and hang by one belt loop overnight. Pants are ready to wear next day after hangover clears.

Not sure this style of jean is right for me given over all fit...need more of a relaxed fit rather than the one provided ....so I am in the process of returning

The jeans look very worn they are suppose to b hard and they were not very disappointing with Zappos the pants look like they have been worn and washed sending back or a refund!

This product and every product I have gotton so far is excellent. Zappos is wonderful. Always true to their policy. They have excellent products and prices with a foolproof return policy. their customer service is always perfect.

Close to the old 501 shrink to fit. The new lines are tin as paper, these have enough weight to last. Thankfully Zappos let me return the 15,000,000 pairs that did not work.

It is fun to be able to personalize your jeans. The inseam I ordered was 33" and from the description, I expected it to shrink in length by 3". I probably shrunk 2", but its better long than short.

No jeans fit me better. Zappos had them for a good price and free next day shipping. One small item of note, one pair was missing the Levis logo on the red tab on the back pocket. Otherwise both pairs were perfect, so I don't think these were seconds, one pair just had a small factory flaw. I didn't contact Zappos about this, as I didn't think it warranted a return.

I have never bought a pair of jeans offline before which left me feeling afraid they wouldn't fit properly (common problem for me). Nonetheless, I was excited when they arrived the next evening and was surprised they fit! I wear a size 29 to 30 in the waist and 34 to 36 in length and the jeans still fit perfectly anyway. I proceeded to purchase more in different dyes and they all look amazing. I don't advise washing them to often. I plan on dry cleaning them in the future.

I just shrunk my jeans last night. I must say: these jeans are incredible. I have trouble finding jeans that fit my body, and these fit amazingly. They're a bit rigid and starchy now, but I know that will get better with time. The color is a beautiful dark indigo, and the style on these is top-notch. I will definitely be buying more!

This product used for weekend and also during holidays

I have been in desperate need of pants for a while, and being a poor college student, it's difficult for me to justify spending so much money on a pair of jeans. However, from the reviews it seemed like there was no match for the quality and durability of these things, so, when a sale came up, I dropped fifty dollars on these. I was skeptical at first, but from the moment they arrived, I was sold. These are, without a doubt, the most comfortable and well-fitting jeans I've ever owned. They're raw denim, so they're heavy duty, and I've been wearing them every day for about a month with no visible wear, and every day I wear them they form more and more to my body. (Levis actually advises against machine washing) the amount of money I spent on these could have easily got me two pairs of lower quality Levis, but you're really paying for quality and durability when you buy these. It's worth it, especially in the long run.

You have to allow for shrinkage on the shrink to fit items, and that is an individual thing. Waist usually plus 2", length 2-3" depending on your taste.

Just discovered these bad boys. I'm an odd size 35x31 and you can't get odd sizes in normal jeans, but 36x34 STF's get me the best fitting jeans I can buy. Like one dude said don't make it complicated, I do an initial soak to wash out most of starch and excess dye then throw in washer and dryer for a couple of cycles to wash out newness. Then wear and enjoy, they will only get better with time.

I bought three pairs, they all varied in size. Each pair has there own personality. You can wash and dry and break them in as needed to get the right fit. Just like the jeans you had when you were a kid. Would recommend.

My super slim adult son loves these jeans. He's a 27 X 32 and just as the description reads (guaranteed to shrink!), he washed the 28 X 34 and they fit him perfectly. Thanks for offering this item.

Great service from Zappos, but won't purchase stf Levis again. After much research about getting the right fit on these i bought a 35w 35l. I normally wear a 34w 32l and love my 501s. But I could not get these to shrink! I soaked them in hot water twice, and then even soaked them while wearing them in the tub in lukewarm water, washed them in the machine hot cycle and air dried, then tub soaked again in hot water and threw them in the dryer. Now they are still too big and the finish is a corny royal blue. Plus, the classic Levis tag on the back tore off. I now have a pair of crappy generic jeans. No sir, I do not like it.

I can't pretend to be a long-time wearer of Levi’s STFs, just a recent convert. Despite Levi's recommendation of ordering a size large on the waist, don't do it! After shrinking, they'll shrink an inch, but it'll stretch right back out, so it's best to stick with whatever you normally wear in Levi’s. Do order at least two inches long on the inseam, though, since that will shrink significantly and won't go back. After that? Just wear them, and the rest will happen over time.

I love these jeans. I wear them while riding my motorcycle. They provide durability and protection. My advice is to not wash them. Ever.
