Right out of the box, these feel great! Very nice arch support for my feet, nice weight and the toe box is wide enough that it does not cramp my toes. I am going to enjoy hiking with these. We all know that Zappos is an excellent company so i am not going to give them any accolades because i don't want it to go to their head.

first pair of hiking boots. only reason i tried Ahnu is because of online reviews. after trying the these boots i admit that the reviews were spot on. what a fantasic pair of boots. the boots feel fantastic. no break in needed. true to fit. arch support and the overall construction and design are #1. light weight and super rugged. Highly recommended.

i never leave reviews, but i feel these boots deserved the time to leave a good review... I wear boots every day for work. I have had every type of hiking boot, from $50 timberlands to $200 Vasque's(i'll never buy Vasque ever agin btw). These Ahnu boots are the best boots i have purchased in a long time... I have had these for over a year now, and have really put them through the ringer. They are light weight(which is important to me), comfortable, and made well. I was a little skepticle of the thin laces when i first got them, but over a year later they are still holding up! If you are considering these boots, give them a try... you'll enjoy them.

Unlike the overly spongy padding used be other manufacturers to make their boots comfortable straight out of the box, these boots fit properly, feel like quality design and manufacture.

My husband wears 10.5 or 11, depending on the shoe. Got the 10.5 based on reviews saying they fit large. He found them tight even when the laces were loosened, though the toe room was fine. Exchanging them for an 11. Otherwise, he really likes the style, likes the arch support, and says they are lightweight and otherwise comfortable.

This is my second pair of Coburns. This newest version is even better than the first version which lacked the toe guard. This boot will stand up to rocks and rough terrain much better than the original. This boot is true to size, comfortable out of the box, and provides excellent support for rugged hiking conditions. You can not go wrong with this boot.

Best boots ever. They are worn for 12 hours a day 7 days a week straight from the box. I wear them out in about 3-4 months but I wear them everyday!

I love these boots. Took them on a backpacking trip and they performed great!! The back tab ripped off the first day which was a bummer. I was concerned after putting 20 miles on them that Zappos wouldn't exchange them. But then again, I read Tony's book and I had a sneaky suspicion they would still return them. When I got home from the backpacking trip I gave it a shot, and what do you know, they made the return. My new set was here in less than 24 hours after I made the call!! Thanks Zappos I will be making all my shoe purchase through you and spreading the word.

Slight break-in time but overall great shoe! Wore them up 10+ miles to almost 12,000 ft and they did awesome. Waterproof, great style. Not hot or clunky. Good grips too!

I haven't put the to the test extensively, but so far these shoes have felt very light and comfortable, but also sturdy. My son drenched them with the garden hose to test their water-proofness, and they passed! It has great support around the ankle bone, really keeps them in place. If you have very skinny ankles, like my husband, these shoes are not for you (couldn't tighten far enough for him). Also, both for me and said husband, we found that these shoes run at least a half size larger than marked.

This boot is everything a boot needs to be. It runs true to size, is sturdy but not bulky or heavy, it withstands mud and dirt yet cleans up nicely. The boot has good support and offers the protection you need in a true boot. It looks really good. It is priced fairly.

Nice boot! Feels almost broken in right out of the box. Got the olive 9.5 version, perfect fit, but if you're on the fence go half size up. Shock absorption seems superior - they may be using something like D3o molecular motorcycle armor in the footbed, but that's just speculation on my part. The appearance is high quality but not power ranger. They also seem to breathe really well, after wearing them all day I'm not feeling the need to take them off. Not cheap but seem durable. Thanks Zappos.

I have a pair of Ahnu hiking shoes which I have owned for a year. They see light daily use and are going strong. These boots seem to be just as well made. Both sets of shoes run a little large. I typically wear a 10.5 or 11 and the 10.5 I ordered is just a hair big; I could have worn a 10. The advertisement for these boots stresses their lateral support and I must agree it's very good without being stiff. It also has good support in the ankles. My only criticism is the eyelets catch the laces and makes it difficult to lace them real tight, but at the same time I suppose that hold the laces in place better. I would definitely order these and other Ahnus again.

I have skinny, narrow feet and have a difficult time finding boots that fit just right without my feet moving around too much. Not the case with these Ahnu Coburns. They fit me perfect. They fit me so well that I'll probably use these as my hunting boots, too.

Excellent "operator" boot. I'm active military and work in a wide variety of challenging conditions; these boots are light, comfortable, and hold up well to everything I've thrown at them so far. Roomy in the toe box without feeling unwieldy. I ordered a 9.5; I wear anything from a 9 to a 10 depending on the boot manufacturer.

I get these for my husband - he works construction and is on his feet allll day. He wore his last pair out bigtime. He likes them because they are not too heavy and bulky. Also, he has very wide feet that kind of fan out like a duck at his toes. So even a "wide" shoe is often too narrow for his toes. These shoes somehow are wide enough around his toes. I think the shoes look really nice. If he let me spend this kind of money on anything for him, believe me, it is worth it!

I normally wear a wider shoe but Ahnu does not make a wide size. I ordered the Coburn anyway and had my pedorthic guy slowly stretch the toe portion of the shoe. After a brief break in period, I took it to Spain for my walk on the Camino de Santiago. We walked 450 miles on these very comfortable boots. On a very wet and rainy day, the waterproofness failed. The other boots from the other 50 people that we saw that day also failed so we cannot blame this shoe in particular. At about 250 miles, the inside material or liner (e-Vent)of the left shoe started deteriorating. I am sending it back to the manufacturer to see what they say.

've had these boots for a few weeks now. I'm a dog walker, so I spend my days on my feet hiking through varied terrain. I've probably put about 80 miles on them in that time. They were extremely comfortable, right out of the box. The was maybe a little stiff, but they loosened up after a few days. The event membrane is very breathable, but by nature, leather isn't. When I take them off at the end of the day, I can feel a very noticeable temperature difference on the inside between the leather and fabric portions. The only reason I knocked it down a star is because of the lace eyelets. They are a stamped metal D ring that have sharpish edges that frayed the laces a bit after the first week. I replaced the cotton laces with some kevlar laces that should last much longer. A round D ring would be much better suited for this application. Overall, though, I hope to get plenty of miles out of these shoes. I'll just make sure to bring some spare laces for my next backpacking trip.

As other reviews stated, these are very comfortable light hiking boots. My pair started to wear out after a year and a half of moderate to low use. This would not be such a big problem if it still retained its waterproof feature. Unfortunately, these boots were totally soaked in less than 1/2 hour of walking in the rain. This was totally unacceptable for a boot clearly marketed as waterproof.
