I ordered these in 8 first and was worried they were a little too small in length.. my toes kept rubbing but not enough where I was in extreme discomfort. They are wide in the heel, lots of extra room even with thick socks, which worried me because if you don't lace them tight enough, your heels will rub. They are definitely not warm boots...the rubber makes them waterproof but they do not insulate. I took the advice from one other reviewer and bought an Ugg insole for $15 from a local store and that made these 100X better...warmer, more support, etc. I ended up ordering the 8.5's to see if they would give me a little more room in the toe, and I was surprised to find that there wasn't much of a difference, they just felt more clunky and loose in the heel, even with the Ugg insole. So I am sending the 8.5's back and am keeping the 8s. They are adorable winter boots that are great for running around, for work, going out etc. Definitely not for dog walking, playing in snow, or being on your feet for 12 hours.

I love these boots when I received them wore them around the house and I could feel them digging into my heel...seems like the rubber part on the heel has a lip and is digging into my heel...sad but have to return.

Awesome boots! I live north of Boston and we had our first real snow storm of the year yesterday. I wore these boots for the first time and my feet were perfectly warm and dry in 6 inches of snow. I've never been so excited about a pair or snow boots in my life. These are not only functional, but super cute as well. However, I will say that I owned a pair of Sorel Joan of Arctic before these ones, and they were a size eight (I am a size eight in almost all shoes and boots). Those were way too big, even with thick socks. I ordered these in a 7-1/2 just because of my past experience with Sorel boots, and they are perfect! I wore them with two pairs of socks, one very thick pair of wool socks, and one pair of thinner ankle socks. If you buy any Sorel boots, I suggest going a half size smaller than your normal sneaker size. These boots also have laces all the way up the front which make them a little difficult to put on. But it's well worth it. Love them!

This was a gift for my daughter. She loves this boot! Very practical for winter and snow and it was a real plus when she found out it was worn by a famous movie star in a recent movie! Great product and looks great!

I got these boots just last winter. Today the leather strap on the bottom broke on one side, and the other side broke soon after as I was checking it out to see if I could snap the broken one back in place. It was not unsnapped. It just broke. These are expensive boots and I am really disappointed that in the beginning of its second winter they are pretty much junk already. Not only have the bottom straps broken, but also the cute wooden looking heel looks really junky now. The wood grain appearance is just a thin cardboardy layer that apparently chips off after too much moisture. Considering that the toe is made of rubber, I would hope the heel would be ok in moisture rich conditions too. The worst part is that when the wood paper chips off white plastic is revealed. They could have at least made the plastic underneath black or brown so it would not be such an eyesore. So, yes, these are very cute boots, but with any regular wear do not expect them to stay cute for very long.

They are cute but very pricey for the quality you get! The strap under the arch breaks. They put a large snap on the inside where it gets caught and breaks. The leather stack heel is only a thin veneer, it is scraped easily and sometimes peels off. There are no liners! Yes, this makes them "not clunky" but if you are standing in the cold for a time, your feet will be cold. I went to see an actual pair at a local store to see if they had a removable insulating liner like old Sorrels, they had no liner. The store did not have new boots but had a pair that someone had brought back, twice, because the strap snap kept breaking. The snaps stick out too far and are in thin leather. Why they put the snaps on the inside is beyond me. I was seeing how they fit, because I was looking for some for my niece, and they were the right size, the owner said they were having to send these back. He offered them to me at a price so reasonable that I bought them. I took them to a shoe repair to remove the snaps and put low profile rivets in. When I came back to pick up the repaired boots, another pair of this same style had come in with the same broken strap problem! This is a clue Columbia/Sorel. I also noticed on my pair that the heel veneer was ripped in a couple of places exposing the white composite underneath. I have read other reviews about this problem before I got this pair, so it is an issue. 12" from your heel, not the boots, to top of boot.

So these boots are pretty rad. Exactly what I was looking for as a New Yorker. An every-day stylish but waterproof boot. (Now I don't have to carry an extra pair of shoes with me!) I got the black because in the picture the inside lining and bottom of the boot look brown- I wear A LOT of brown (more than black possibly) and really wanted that element. When the boot got here it was all black, no hint of brown. Plus the white stripe on the bottom makes it look sneaker-esue which wasn't my favorite. Also, they are a little short in the toe for me. They are going back for a half size up and the cinnamon color instead because I think it'll go with more outfits. There is a lovely tan on beige version of this boot which was my first obsession but every page (including Sorel themselves) are completely sold out. Let's hope the upgrade is what I want because I can't wait to wear this boot if it's as beautiful and functional as it promises to be! Also- customer service was super fast and polite about getting this exchanged quickly, and the initial delivery was also very quick. Thumbs up to Zappos.

Stylish. Easy to slip on and off. Warm. I wasn't expecting to wear these as the weather got to low teens and single digits, but it has happened early and they feel warm. I haven't stood outside in them for ages, so in that case, I may pull out my giant Sorels, but they are great boots! I love them!

These are the second pair of Sorel boots that I own and I really like to see how much they've progressed within the design department. Compared to the Joan of Arctic, this boot has a narrower foot box. The boots don't look overly chunky or big like some other Sorel styles. The Conquest Carly has moderate arch support, which is great to see in a stylish waterproof boot. Although the Conquest Carly doesn't have as much insulation as other Sorel's it's still incredibly warm. I would highly recommend that you downsize. I normally wear a 7.5 and fit in the Conquest Carly size 7's comfortably with normal and heavy weight socks. The stirrups add a funky, fun look to a comfortable classic boot. You won't be disappointed with this purchase!

Wow, do I ever have a problem with these boots. WHICH COLOR? I currently have the black in hand, and they are fantastic. I can kick it like Katniss in these...they were part of her costume for Hunger Games. However, the Cinammon color, as shown in the sales video, it absolutely fabulous as well. They are sturdy, bad looking and fit great with a wool sock. With boots like these I'm not going to be wearing them with anything but a warm sock. So my usual size, 7 , is a little loose in these boots, but really perfect for the purpose. I just have to sit down and have a think , which color is more fabulous, and I better do it soon so I can start wearing them. i already have black rain boots, and some taupe Sorel Joan of Arctics (don't judge) so just got to figure out which completes my wardrobe better. In any case, these boots are unique and make it clear that you can deliver a good butt whooping if necessary. As far as function that is way down on my list for why I buy boots, but these seem sturdy and fine. With Zappos generous return policy, you can check them out like I did...but you'll never want to part with them.

Cutest boots ever! I don't know why people say order small? I usually wear an 8-8.5 In shoes and 9 in boots. Due to mixed reviews, I ordered an 8.5. Too small by a hair! I would rather wear thick socks than feel my toe on the end. Oh and they are not warm. So consider a larger size with a bootliner If you need to wear them in the snow!

I'm generally not super impressed with Sorel's level of craftsmanship, but these boots are an exception. Very well made in durable, quality materials. It is also a more attractive style and silhouette, than most snowboots at the same price point. I have a really hard time finding good looking, fashionable snow boots that are under my budget, and these go great with leggings or skinny jeans and a nicer coat. My only criticism is that the fit and comfort could be improved. Given the depth of the last, the boot should have a thicker, more cushioned footbed. There is also too much room in the ankle area, which causes my heel to lift when walking. I have to wear super thick socks and bunch them around my ankle to make the boots tread comfortably. Expect the boots to run about a half size larger, which I think is actually great, because they are much more comfortable with heavy socks. All in all, this boot is a great value. Really happy about this purchase. I wouldn't have worn Sorel in the past, but am now on a look out to see if they'll come out with more fashionable styles!

I fell in love with the style of these boots and had to have them. The fit is similar to other Sorel boots and they can accommodate a wide calf. Unfortunately, after less then a week of wear they started to fall apart! These boots are complete garbage. The laces broke after wearing them twice. After 5 days the leather started to peel off the heal revealing cheap/fake white plastic construction. The rivets connecting the leather piece that goes under the boot have bent. I would only purchase these boots if you intend on wearing them while tip-toeing on dry pavement.

I received a pair of these boots for Christmas last year and was so excited to have such stylish boots. Considering I grew up with Sorel, I anticipated these boots would last several years knowing the company's devotion to quality. Unfortunately, like many things these days, the quality was just not there. The heel was made out of plastic covered with a cheap wooden overlay. After walking in the rain and snow for a month, which I thought these boots were designed to do, the suede buckle on the side came off entirely. I was so disappointed with these boots that I returned them. Due to the high price, I was able to trade these boots in for a pair of boots by Keen (which I love) and a beautiful pair of Mary Janes (which are so comfortable). I am not sure if this is just a problem with the boot design or if this says something about the quality of Sorel entirely, but I would save yourself the heart break and get different boots.

Beautiful when they first arrived, totally destroyed after two months. I am finding this to be a trend with Sorel's fashionable boots. The stirrup underneath the boot was torn off almost immediately. But what I noticed the most was the lack of quality in the rubber at the toe and it began splitting open after only two months. There were at least 5 small holes in an otherwise waterproof boot simply from a little wear, thank goodness Zappos took them back!

I absolutely love these boots! I got them as a gift and I couldn't be happier. I went "extreme" sledding one night and I had to wear these boots and after a couple of hours using my feet as brakes only my big toe was a little humid but nothing terrible. Overall great! I normally wear a 6 and that's what I got; if you plan on wearing them with thick socks, then get a size bigger.

These boots were worth every penny. They are so comfortable and lightweight but also keep my feet warm. I've been wearing them even with no snow! In terms of sizing, I usually wear a 7 1/2 and I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly. Do yourself a favor and order these boots before they're gone- they are limited edition and won't be available next season!

I LOVED these boots. Notice the past tense. The second I started wearing my boots in the snow they started falling apart. First, the strap under the foot snapped off. Fine... It's just cosmetic. Then yesterday I noticed that both rubber heel grips were hanging on by literally a 1/4 inch strip of glue to the rest of the heel! Both fell off. I am extremely disappointed in these boots. I've probably only worn them 15 times and they're completely destroyed. What gives, Sorel?

I love this boot! They look fantastic and I feel very stylish wearing them. I'm 5'2" and have skinny calves so it's very hard to find tall boots that fit, and you can cinch these boots to fit your legs perfectly. These boots also run a half size big; I usually wear a size 6 but wear a 5.5 in Sorel boots. Cons are your feet don't breathe very well so sometimes my feet overheat and they don't offer superior support so my feet get sore after extended wear. Oh, and they are a pain to take off since they are lace up, so I avoid wearing them if I'm going to be taking my shoes off and on a lot during the day. But for me, these cons are minor annoyances. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. I've never loved a pair of boots so much.

I was completely wowed by these boots when I first bought them. They are impressively stylish for a winter boot and they were comfortable to walk in even with a little bit of heel. I coughed up the money to purchase these no problem. However, after just one month of normal wear in rainy Oregon winters, they looked completely abused. The very thin veneer on the heel is not at all tolerant to wet conditions. It started peeling off very soon and revealing a not so attractive white plastic heel. Then the decorative strap that wraps under the sole of the boot broke off at the snap. There was no way to repair it, so it just had to be cut off. Now they are kind of an embarrassing mess and for the money a huge disappointment in the quality department. I actually wrote to Sorel asking for money back. So buyer beware. There are a lot of 5 star reviews on these and if I had written mine in the first week, I would have given them 5 stars too because they look and feel great. But six weeks later, it feels like money thrown out the window.

Favorite boots ever. I would say they are a delightful mix between snow boots and rain boots. Even when it's super cold, as long as I wear thick socks, my feet are warm enough. I haven't had any problems with the traction (as a Boston pedestrian) and, when we just got 28" of snow, my jeans and feet stayed dry inside the boots. And they look super cool, unlike every other pair of snow boots.

I just recently moved to Boston so I figured it was high time that I purchased a pair of snow boots. I am not the type to wear frumpy things so when I saw that Sorel, a company known for well made waterproof shoes, made boots this cute I was ecstatic. I was only a little concerned with the price. However, I can fully say they were worth every penny! I have been stomping through puddles and slush and my toes have stayed warm and dry. They are not lined for warmth on the inside, however there is room for socks (I got size 7's which can sometimes be snug on me, but these boots have plenty of room). The lack of lining is better for me personally because I can wear them on a mild winter day when it is wet out and not have my feet sweltering. Also, they're totally adorable. I wear them with dresses, leggings and jeans; they work with everything. The only con I have is getting them on and off can be a hassle since there is no zipper, however once you get used to it and loosen the lacing they slide on pretty easily, and the boot's many pros make up for this one fault.

These boots are really comfy and warm, but not OVERLY warm. I live in San Francisco where it doesn't snow but gets cold and rains, and I thought I would not be able to wear them except on visits to snowier places, but I was wrong. They work well for rainy weather too and are light enough that it doesn't seem like overkill.
I am usually a size 9, but the 9 I ordered did seem big, so I sent for an 8.5 to see... and it was a little too snug so I stuck with the 9. I put a padded insole underneath the insole that came with them which filled in the extra space and make them perfect.
