This is our second pair of Nike youth shoes that broke within a month. We will no longer purchase Nike shoes for our boys.
I'd also recommend:

A very nice looking shoe and comfy however they only lasted one month. Cracks started forming on toe area after the first week and then turned into holes. Also soles did not last - holes there too. This style is not meant for recess play for an 8 year old boy. Very disappointed.

Ordered these as a Santa gift for my 7 year old to wear to school with his uniform. He wore them for less than a month before they were destroyed. The stitching on the outside of the toe box came loose and detached. One tore straight down the middle of the toe. The ankle border material became worn through to white filling shortly after. Although the shoe is great looking (except for the huge Nike logo in white on the heel) and super light weight & comfortable...the quality and durability stink. He wears them mostly to school where he does not get too much of a chance to tear them up...very disappointed in product.

My son wore these for the first time on Monday, by Friday one of the loops had ripped out. He's not hard on his shoes, he usually outgrows them before he wears them out. Normally, I wouldn't purchase this brand but I gave in this time. They felt flimsy and cheap from the start. Sadly, we found out they were not worth the money we paid for them.

The shoes lasted ONE MONTH! Do Not buy these for your child! Fabric on the toes wore off in less than one month! Not a good shoe for an active little boy!

We ordered these for my 11 year old son. We have never had trouble with Nikes in the past, apart from maybe wearing out the toes too quickly. But within 3 months these shoes had a 1-inch diameter hole in the midsole (bottom)! The soles are truly paper-thin. In shopping for a replacement, the salesman at Dick's noted that Nike's Flex line has an extremely thin sole and recommended a running shoe instead. Also, note that if you are between men's and boy's, Nike makes the youth version with considerably less material than an adult version. Bottom line: Nike's Flex line is not suitable for everyday playground/recess use.
