I wore Thorogood boots for decades and made the switch to the barstow 2.5 years ago. 1st pair blew my mind on comfort and durability. Lasted 2 years of 70 hours a week wear before stitching blew out on toe box. The sole still intact with visible tread left. Purchased a second pair and after 3 monthe the foam midsole collapsed on the outside edge of the boot causing my foot to not sit flat and strain my ankle. There is a visible crease on the foam. My original pair is fine after 2 years of wear. Not sure if I want to try another pair, but the initial comfort with virtually no break in is a definite plus. Need to think about this. Giving 3 star review as a average of both pairs. First pair was a 5 star.

I returned them due to the size but was unable to procure the same boot in the right size. They looked sharp, but were too big.

Could use more cushion and a better liner to protect your feet from dirt.

The boot looks great. It ran a little big and wasn't as comfy as I'd hoped.

Great looking boot. Super comfortable. After 2 months the stitching around the moc toe started to fray on both boots. I am on doing field walks and ladder climbing nothing major. It is disappointing that the Timberlands are falling apart.

I found these shoes to be wider and longer than specified. The sole was rather soft - very comfortable initially but not as stable a footbed as I was needing. The leather was thinner than a comparable pair of redwing irish setters, and I didn't think it would hold up to my needs for a workboot.
I'd also recommend:
Redwing Irish Setter

Boots are a tool for me. I need comfort, foot protection and durability. I returned the boots, didn't fit well. Will reorder 6" Direct Attach.

Ive had many pairs of these boots in the past, they were comfortable and lasted a long time. The last pair i bought both sides the soles came apart within months of light duty work.

I use these for work. I walk on concrete all day. I initially bought a size 11 but the sizing was way off. I sent them back bought a half size smaller, my feet still dance in them. I put an extra insole in them. Nice looking boot but would not recommend. I always wore timberlands and still will, but these are a definite NOPE!

Stitching where the boot creases when walking started unraveling. My sock in my right boot is now exposed. It created about a 1" gap. Since Timberland's warranty is good for only 1 year, I can't do anything about it since it's been 13 months. :/

Like many of you, I worked construction. These boots broke in very well but the heel on the sole began to loosen and create a flap over the period of 4 months. This happened on both boots, save yourself the money and go with redwing

Bought these boots for work, and out of the box they fit great! How ever within a couple of months, and I do mean in under 2, the stitching started coming out. To get them repaired, ie repair their faulty product, I the consumer have to pay for shipping. So, I am returning them and going with a more reliable/durable brand.

Not the best review for Zappos coming. The color of the boots they provide on the site is not the same color the boots come in. They show a light brown colored boot, the boots that I received were dark brown. Pretty disappointing actually. I returned them.

Originally I thought these were great boots. However, less than two months of wear and the stitching along the moc toe has become frayed. Looks like the leather is beginning to separate as well.
