I’m returning these shoes now for the second time because they’re still too big for my daughter. While the Zappos site labels the sizing as Big Kid/Little Kid, when this second pair arrived and they were still too big, I double-checked the size and noticed the label said “Boys 3 1/2.” So I’m guessing that a boys size actually *does* run larger (just like men’s sizes)? I love the shoe and it looks super cute on her, so I’m returning one more time, will order another 1/2-size smaller, and hope we finally have a winner! The stars/rating are based on what I think they’ll be once she’s in the right size.

The 7s are clunky on my size 8 foot so they run pretty big. Daughter absolutely loves them--mostly because she can slip right into them. (You know kids can't be bothered messing around with tongues and laces.) They are also quite warm and weatherproof. We are loving them so far. Our feet are the same size so I've worn them out to get the mail a few times. I don't like the arch support because it seems to be pretty stiff and further toward the back than seems right. But daughter likes it so it's obviously personal preference.

I'll be ordering these for a third time for my daughter. She loves them. Waterproof is a must for us and the slip on feature is so nice and convenient. But some new colors are needed, the pink/purple is as my Mom put it, quite ugly. And there isn't much it actually goes with.

Run slightly large. Daughter has narrow heels and we tried to put in silicone pads around the back heel but they still slipped. Sadly they have to go back. She really wanted to keep them.

I became interested in these shoes because I have some brown adult sized Jungle Moc Merrells and they are great (as comfy as bedroom slippers) but not waterproof. I bought a new winter coat this year which is bright pink and I thought it would be terrific to have matching Merrells. I wear size 6.5 adult and decided to convert my size to "big kid" size and try these out. I first tried a big kids size 5. These felt extremely wide and the toe was much more rounded than my brown Merrells. Although they felt roomy everywhere, they rubbed the back of my heel terribly. Disappointed, I tried adding an insole that I had around the house and a few bits of spare foam in the heel area but adding this caused the shoe to feel too short. I called Zappos and they kindly sent me a pair in size 5.5 to try. Love how easy Zappos makes this! I can happily report that the big kids size 5.5 fit perfectly and are just as comfy and good looking (not wide looking) as my brown Merrells. Interestingly, the boxes for the two pairs of shoes were very different with the box for the smaller pair being much larger. The color of the two pairs of shoes is also different, the 5.5 is much more purple/grape than the 5.0 which is more pink and more closely matches the color on the website. I'm not sure if this is a dye lot difference or evidence of the fading that others reported? The fit and feel of the two shoes is very very different. The only negative on the size 5.5 version was that they did not come with stuffing/cardboard in them and so the right shoe was all smushed in. Also the suede looks a bit scuffed on the left sides of both shoes. The 5.0 came with a Merrell flyer inside and had a tag attached to one of the shoes. The 5.5 pair had no flyer or tag. I bought these with a coupon that reduced the price significantly so I'm very happy with my purchase regardless of these small issues. Lastly, if you are comparing these to adult Merrells, note that the tread on these is not as good as the adult version. Overall, satisfied with this purchase.

Very disappointed in some things Merrell is doing on the kids end of things. Taking away the Chameleon sandal is one of them. Then this shoe, the sole doesn't come out and I ALWAYS count on Merrell for the sole to come out. Very disappointed.

Cute shoe, but the fit was off for me- too loose in the mid and heel area. If it fit better, it would have been a good walking shoe for colder weather.

My 5 year old daughter loved these but within 3 months a hole formed on the upper near the toes. That rendered them useless for winter. Figured it was a fluke so I Bought another pair and 3 months later -another hole in the same area. So beware these shoes are thin and not durable. Expected better at this price point.
