I have purchased literally hundreds of items from Zappos over the years and this is the first review I've ever written. These boots are the coolest, best quality, most fantastic purchase I have made through Zappos and maybe ever. They dress up and they dress down. The quality of the leather and construction makes me feel I'll have these things until the sole wears thin. They are fine in all seasons with appropriate socks. I have purchased Frye biker style boots several times so this new men's fashion boot is a welcome addition. I compared this style of boot to another favorite, Cole Haan and these kicked butt. They are simply awesome in every way.

These Hudsons are quite nice, but unfortunately, not 300-dollars-nice. I am willing to pay a premium for boots, so long as the quality of material and craftsmanship reflects the price. The grade of leather is adequate, though not impressive. The stitching around the upper and midfoot could be more precise and of a stronger/thicker thread. The brogue detailing is beginning to peel back a bit from around the midfoot, with about 10 days of wearing. For less these would be a great buy. At this cost, I expect thicker, more durable leather, heavier duty construction, and a greater level of detail. Not bad, not amazing. A decent purchase.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas (2012). He loved them to the point to wearing quarter sized holes through the soles. I figured I would purchase him the exact same pair for this year's Christmas and was shocked that the price has increased by $90! I bought his shoes here on Zappos for less and just 3 years later they're now asking this much? This is price gouging and it makes me question the pricing of ALL the shoes on Zappos.com. Going to look elsewhere.

These Frye Hudson boots are true to size in both length and width. The attention to detail has resulted in an excellent product that is an absolute comfort to wear, and stunning in looks. The perfect combination with favourite pair of jeans! I have a wide foot so the width is a little tight, but I'm sure they will stretch with use, and use them I will..! Can't go wrong, and worth the price, though it would appear to be on the high side. Wish I could afford a second pair to have as "everyday beaters"! If I could get any improvement in these, it would be to have them available in wide widths up to 4 or 5E.

These boots are absolutely stunning! I got these today a half-size lower based on other reviews and these boots fit just as well as my Danner Light Woodlawns. I have had them on for over an hour and they feel better by the minute. The soles have superlative traction. I am going to have these for quite some time I can tell. I just can't take my eyes off 'em!

If you're looking for a unicorn of a shoe, this is it. Wingtip details and a crepe sole on a tall ankle boot? With leather laces, and vintage finish leather, even. The Hudson also comes in a lower shoe, but the height of the Hudson boot looks great with slim denim or chinos. The leather is soft and supple from day one, but it benefits from a treatment of Obenauf's or other natural wax conditioner. Crepe soles provide a bit more comfort than a rubber or leather sole. They don't last as long but are replaceable through Frye or better cobblers. Fryes run true to the width they're marked, and these are not available in wide. They will stretch with some wear and a quality pair of expanding shoe trees, especially with diligence in applying leather conditioner. They do run a half size long, though.

Just got these last week and couldn't be happier. Detailing on the boot is top notch and the leather is very soft. Definitely slimmer than they appear in the pictures, which I was happy with. Very comfortable so far and I haven't even broken them in yet! Excited to see how they age. As for sizing, I usually wear a 11 in sneakers, and I ordered a 10 1/2 in these and they fit like a glove. Same size I wear in Clarks Dessert boots. Definitely pick these up.

These are my first pair of nice boots. I've been messing around with the Clarks desert chukka boot, but wasn't getting the comfort satisfaction that I crave. These Frye Hudson boots, on the other hand, are very comfortable. The crepe sole provides all the cushion that the Clarks lack. These Frye's are honestly comfortable to wear right out of the box. The leather feels very high quality and soft. The only slight downside for me is that the thick, soft crepe sole sometimes feels slightly unstable - like there's some side-to-side wiggle room sometimes. Considering how comfortable these boots are, I'm very happy with them. And they look great too!

I bought these boots for my boyfriend for Christmas. They are really classy and rich. He wears them almost every time I see him. He says they are comfortable but were a little stiff as all new leather can be. The color, styling and construction are all solid as all Frye boots are. Can be dressed up with a pair of slacks but look great with jeans as well.

I bought these shoes/boots for my husband as a surprise Christmas gift. I was very worried that he wouldn't like the style and/or they would not be comfortable enough for his taste, since he live in Keens. He absolutely LOVES them! They are perfect to wear to work and out in the evenings. He says the fit is great, the arch is in the right place and likes how soft the sole is to walk on! He's thrilled as am I, they are very hip boots and look great on him!

Bought this shoe for my hubby for Christmas and he declared it his new favorite boot. He's very particular about his shoes and will not wear them if they aren't extremely comfortable. These fit the bill, and he loves the quiet, cushioned stride the crepe sole offers him. I love the boot's styling and the strong, luscious & durable leather it's made out of. Another Frye home run!

I ordered both the Hudson wingtip and the boot to compare the style and fit, and ultimately decided the detailing and height of the boot was nicer. Colour is rich, the leather laces are thick, though woven laces are NOT included and would be nice. Crepe soles are comfortable to walk in right out of the box. They run long and narrow so I had to select a full size smaller than I typically wear, which were very tight through the instep initially but stretch to fit. My feet are rather wide through the toe but the leather is supple and comfortable. I have low arches so these offer sufficient support for me but may not for everyone.

My wife surprised me with these boots on Christmas morning. They where comfortable right out of the box and I have worn them every day since. I have read that some guys feel the boots are a little narrow, Frye may want to address this problem; for me the boots are a great fit and true to size. If you are looking for a great looking boot with fit and comfort look no further.

I did not want to take these off, they were that comfortable! Soft to the touch and can be worn with any sock thickness if desired. No break-in period is required so if you want to just buy them and take with you on a long trip, don't think twice it's alright.

I love these shoes, they're a little narrow but they look great and feel great. I get a lot of compliments. This pair is a 10 1/2 - which are a little tight - but the size 11's were way too big.

Most comfortable boots ever. Too bad Frye hasn't made all their boots this way. I actually ended up returning because they didn't have the edge factor I was looking for. But if you want a straightforward cool boot, you cant lose. Try 'em out. Zappos is awesome.

I'm surprised by how comfortable these Frye Hudson Wingtip Boots are! I own a pair of Frye oxfords and while the style and craftsmanship are first rate I'm still aware that I'm wearing hard-bottomed shoes like some dad going to work fifty years ago. Perhaps it's the crepe sole on these Hudsons but they're noticeably softer to walk in. I have a history of plantar fasciitis and I live in the city where walking is a must, so I often abort to Fit Flop sneakers and shoes just for the unmatched comfort. I'm happy to report that these boots feel as good as they look.

These boots are absolutely beautiful. It was certainly worth the extra dough shelled out to get a really quality product. Plenty of cushion in the crepe sole, stitching is eye-catching and expertly executed. Good mid-calf height and lots of versatility with casual and more dressy looks.

These are very comfortable. They have a great all purpose style. These shoes are not light but I am sure in a month or so they will be well broken in.

I purchased these about two months ago and immediately loved them. First I will start with the pros... This boot is extremely unique and stylish. I don't think I've seen a wingtip boot with crepe sole anywhere else. Also, the leather is thick and rich, and they definitely look and feel well made. The leather is thick and sturdy as well as soft where it needs to be. You'll be blown away by the stitching and craftsmanship put into this pair of boots. These are definitely keepers that I will resole one day. I think they run true to size as I am usually a 10.5 in shoes and 11 in sneakers, and the 10.5 fit me like a glove. They definitely will mold to your foot after use, as these are real leather boots. The width was also perfect for me. Now on to the cons... Not many but I've noticed a few you should consider. First, my feet get cold very quickly in these boots. I live in the northeast, and these boots are not very warm even with a decent pair of knitted socks. Second, the crepe sole gets dirty very quickly and can get black around the edges; however, this was expected. I'm not overly concerned with this as I am probably the only one who notices it. Other than that, these are an amazing pair of boots and I'm happy with the purchase.

My first pair of these actually came apart quickly; the pull strap on the back of the shoe pulled up after only a week. Zappos was great about sending a replacement. I'm a little more cautious with that strap now. That sounds like a big minus, but honestly, I love these boots. They're incredibly comfortable. Nicely padded, and warm in cold weather.
