My Frye size has always been 6. I ordered these in 6 and could not even get my feet in them! Back they went for a 6½. Although they are a bit tight over the instep, they should break in with time. As the previous reviewer noted, they are really cute. The leather is stiff as concrete, so do not expect to do much walking in them right away. These boots definitely need to be broken in... a lot!

I LOVE these boots, however I always wear a size 40 and once I get these on they are great. BUT they are SO hard to get on. The part of the boot where the vertical boot shaft meets the horizontal shoe part is too narrow for my thick old foot!It takes me a good 10 minutes to pull squeeze and pry myself into them. So be warned, if you've got wide ankles the same could happen to you.

I find Frye makes one tough boot -- so tough they sometimes are too stiff. Usually wear a 7 1/2 but ordered both 7 1/2 & 8 in the Wyatt Overlay Short. Returning the smaller boot because the leather isn't very the softest...but after a little effort to get them on (I have a really high instep) they are pretty comfy. For a little extra space in both length and width the 8 is perfect. Love the somewhat weathered look. They'll look great with tights and long or short skirt or skinny jeans. Hate to hide the very cool leather detailing so probably won't wear them with boot cut pants. Cute! These are keepers!

These are great boots. True to size for me, though they are a bit tight over the instep at first (though I do have a fairly high arch so that may be why). The first time getting them on was a bit difficult but after that it got easier. These are really comfortable for me and required no breaking in at all. I could do a lot of walking in them the first time I wore them. The leather is nicely distressed so they look like your favorite old boots straight out of the box.

Love Frye boots...they are classic and timeless and these don't disappoint. However, these run really small or at least the pair I received ran small. I have found that Frye boots tend not to be consistent in terms of sizing. Not sure if I'll be able to keep these but they are gorgeous.

There's a mysterious science behind this shoe sizing. I usually wear a 6 in most shoes (including Fryes) and a 6 1/2 in a running shoe. After reading other reviews about buyers not being able to get the shoe on, I decided to buy this boot in both sizes. I couldn't cram on the 6 1/2 and was about to throw in the towel on even trying the 6. But wishful thinking got the best of me, and I tried the 6. Low and behold, it worked! In fact, once the 6 was on, it fit great. Held the heel just right and gave enough room in the ball of my foot. However, the boot hit mid-calf, and I am on the hunt for something a little shorter, so I returned them. Moral of the story: Try it on in a couple sizes before crossing this shoe off your list.

I ordered a half size larger than my usual which was the direction the reviews would have me take, and they were way too big. My usual 6.5 turned out to be fine. A little tight across the foot to be sure but the leather will give and the length is fine. They are true to size they just need some breaking in. They are quite beautiful really, and although I had a hard time justifying the price initially, I think they will prove well worth their cost.

I had this boot for a couple years until I had my son.. My feet grew a full size! So I'm buying them again! FYI .. Use a plastic grocery bag over your sock before trying on stiff boots.. Wear for an hour and they will form to your foot! I loved this boot, be patient and they will be your favorite pair! They seem stiff but I assure you, they turn to perfection !

These are beautiful boots. They were not hard for me to put on, but I have thin calves and ankles. They are comfortable in general, but maybe not for walking all day.

These are awesome! I am overweight and have high arches with plantar fasciitis. I am usually not able to wear anything but tennis shoes with orthotic support. I can actually wear these boots for hours without foot pain. They are made very well and I have worn them over and over with no visible wear. I am back to get other Frye boots in other colors. I have the dark brown in these and they are great looking.

I absolutely love Frye boots, these are very true to size (size 9) and comfortable the first time I put them on. When I took them out of the box they smelled wonderful (good leather smell) I just love them. The detail is great. Highly recommend.

I love these boots. Some reviews said they were hard to get on, I did not find that to be the case. Totally comfortable the first time I wore them.

These boots are awesome. The details are so striking, and fun with skirts and skinny jeans. They are a bit more narrow in the toe-box than I am used to, but that is just the cowboy cut, I think. Still they are quite comfortable. The shaft is very vertical, so yes they take a bit of oomph to get of but once on, they are no trouble. I think my foot is a little on the narrow side of medium, if that helps anyone else decide. I love them!

My inner shoe diva wanted a short boot for the fall-winter season so I went straight to the Frye boots, since they are such beautifully styled and constructed boots. I tried this Frye Wyatt Overlay Short book and the Lindsay Plate Short boot, and decided on the Lindsay. I decided I liked the Lindsay better for a short boot. The Wyatt short boot looked a little stunted as a western style boot. If I go western, I will get a traditional tall boot.

Just a little stiff but not as heavy as some Fryes I've worn. They'll take some breaking in but I think it won't take long. These look nice with jeans or skirts. All in all, a good investment.

I love the look of these and was excited to receive them but it was a struggle getting them on. The leather quality is great and the inlays were desirable but overall the boots were a bit stiff and rubbing on the calf is going to happen -- its is irritating to the skin. Unfortunately, I had to return them---But I did get another pair of Frye's that I do love and keeping!

This boot is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. But it is ungodly narrow and the leather is super stiff, so I don't think they'll stretch. Boo hoo, I have to send them back!
