A couple notches in quality and comfort above the original, and less expensive version. They are well worth the price difference. Feels like they run half a size large, as do all Sperrys. These are excellent, timeless classic boat shoes.

I really liked how this shoe looked online and was impressed when it arrived. Unfortunately for me, it felt a good half-size smaller than marked. Notably, the right shoe was very tight across the widest part of my foot. If it were available in a wider size, I would have tried it again.

Wow! What a great feeling shoe! The upper leather is some of the softest leather I have ever found in a shoe. The memory foam foot bed is very comfortable. As other reviews have stated, I had to go a full size larger than my normal shoe size. I also should have gone a full size up in width as well.

Great fit. Go on and off easily but still stay on my feet. If too loose just cinch up the laces a little. Very comfortable barefoot unless it's really hot. My feet get hot fast in these shoes. The style is not for everyone but I'm okay with that.

Great shoe, very comfortable and of high quality. My only complaint is that the one I received didn't have the lacing system shown in the picture. I don't like tying the leather shoelaces b/c it looks sloppy so I had to go to a shoe repair shop to have them specially done, which cost me less. So for me, it was a lot for a pair of shoes. Not sure it was worth it.

This is my second pair of these shoes. They are definitely an upgrade from the original "deck shoes," but also double the price. They are more comfortable, but don't last any longer.

The Sperry Gold Cup boat shoes seems to run a half size smaller. My guess is because of the nice cushion lining this shoe has. So my suggestion is if you plan on purchasing this and any of Gold Cup shoes I would go up 1/2 a size....just my 2 cents

This shoe was very soft compared to the main line boat shoes, but seemed to run narrow for the Wide width I ordered. Overall felt cheaply made for the price, so I returned them.

I am disappointed in the quality of the Gold Cup boating shoe as it is a far cry from the original.

Really well made. The addition of a cushion insole made them a bit too snug for my size and the leather that covered it was sticky. Prefer the standard ones.

Received a new pair of the Gold Cup AO Boat shoe however the current version has a SEWN IN fabric Label which is uncomfortable as you would not wear with socks and it is a serious irritant. Maybe I can remove the label. Of course that would probably leave an indentation that would also be an irritant>>>??? HELP Fix so next pair will go back to the imprinted information sizing, materials and country of mfr (INDONESIA).

While Sperry Gold Cups are comfortable, in order to get the length I need, I must order a10.5. That size will cause the shoe to be too wide in the heel. A shoe that is that price should be made with more care. It is a boat shoe and most people will wear the shoe without a sock and will find the shoe a little wide.

Comfort and style are excellent. My only complaint is the padded insert frays because it is not one piece, and so it curls up and becomes unglued -- not sure how to fix. Is this an issue due to large shoe size (13)?

Compared to Gold Cup Boat Shoe I've had for 20 years, the quality of this shoe is not as I experienced in the past or expected. The upper layer of the shoe seems bonded to the sole in a much different way. Also, the 8 1/2 size I ordered seems shorter than usual. More difficult to put a thin ankle sock over my feet and feel comfortable in the shoe.

Recommend going down half a size. Or just stick with the original cheaper ones. The soft leather of the gold cup edition is nice at first, but stretched a lot the first day of wearing them, and becomes floppy and annoying. I have worn a pair of size 12 Sherry's every year as long as I can remember. This year I treated myself and I regret it.

I love my new Gold Cup Authentic Original Boat Shoes! They are so soft, but they just don't fit right. I ordered 10.5 wide (same as all my other shoes) and they are just too tight to be really comfortable. Even with the wide size they are still tight and not quite long enough to be the comfortable shoes I was expecting. I guess I need an 11 wide to fit right, but at the price I can't afford to order another pair. Too bad, because I've always love these shoes!

Theses are OK. First Gold Cups I bought 5 years ago were much more substantial and lasted three summers. I bought a pay of the current version and it's one (season) and done. At this price point the shoe is found wanting.

I've had at least a half dozen pairs of this particular style and color. This pair is not the same as the prior ones. The tan color is more of beige than previously, the feel of the insole is different, and the eyelets are popping after two months. It's a shame because this has been my go to casual shoe for some time now.

Excellent construction and materials. Very comfortable foot bed. This is my second pair in less than a year. The first pair, size 11 wide, fit perfectly. Unfortunately, this pair, also labeled 11 wide, is definitely not the same width. It's very tight, even as I've tried to break them for 3 weeks. I assumed being the same model and width, that the fit would be identical, and therefore discarded the box. My mistake. I cannot return the product and although I love it, can only wear them without socks or my feet won't fit. Live and learn.

soft leather is a departure from past; I like the old style. I've worn Sperry Topsiders for over 50 years, but they're not the same quality, nor are they made in the USA.

Not the same quality -- lighter-weight leather -- of the pair I purchased and wore vigorously for two years.
