I was skeptical at first of the price tag, but after owning 2 pairs of the authentic originals, I went for these. Right out of the box they are much more comfortable than the authentic originals. The build quality is also far superior and, in my opinion, they look better too. If you have a little money to spare, I would say that it's definitely, 100% worth the extra money. Order either a half or full size down from your normal shoe size because they are meant to be worn with boat shoe socks or without any.

Much better than the "standard" A/O 2-Eye, both in looks and comfort. You'll definitely feel the price difference, but whether it is worth it or not is up to you. It also feels a bit "roomier" than its cheaper cousin. That being said I guess technically it does run 1/2 larger (same as most Sperry shoes) but if you have slightly wide feet or like the extra space I would go with your regular size. The "half a size larger" part comes from that these shoes are generally worn without socks, so they don't exactly run big.

Bought these and the traditional to compare. I'm keeping the traditional. These fit more true to size, however, due to the thicker padding in the bottom of the shoe, they wore lower on the foot. The padding also was actually more uncomfortable that the less padded standard shoe. The softer leather meant that I had to sometimes grab the heel of the shoe and give it support when I put it on, I couldn't slip in them as easily as I could the traditional shoes that had the firmer leather. These are nice, but not worth $70 dollars more. The look and stitching on the two shoes were equivalent. These were slightly darker and the leather was more porous and softer. I think they would be more likely to absorb dirt and oil because of that finsh (not quite suede, but soft like suede).

Fits as advertised. I have worn both with and without socks and have had no issues, only compliments. I also used to buy the Authentic Original, and I've gotten some other brands as well. These are more comfortable than the Authentics, in that they have a cushier footbed. The other brands (sebago) fell apart quickly, and felt like they had a heated insole. No thank you! These look and feel great and I have not had issues walking around them all day with blisters, or foot funk. I was also caught in the rain with them last week (surprise!) and they got wet, but dried normally. -No weird staining or anything. Remember: these are BOAT shoes. They can handle getting wet! I look fresh af and people are sweating my shoe-game. This could be you too.

Very comfortable shoes! My only disappointment is that the right sole was not sewn on properly. I should have returned them right away but thought I was being picky! It’s bothered me every time I put them on which is frequently! I’ll attach a picture below.

I've worn this shoe for a month now and this shoe is great. The leather is extremely soft and comfortable. It has a distress worn out feeling. Your feet will be comfortable without socks or with no shows. My only complaint is that Wave-Siping does help but it creates a weird sticky noise when you walk on tile or wooden floors.

A very comfortable shoe. However, after a few months of normal wear, the "comfortable" look starts to look more like a dried up prune. The front top part of the shoe became very "wrinkled." They were not exposed to any abnormal environments, but they showed excessive signs of wrinkled wear. Also I have never had any foot odor problems in my life. I wear other shoes or sneakers, never any problem, but with these shoes it has become so that my wife won't allow me to wear them in her presence. I have had Sperry shoes for decades and have had no problem with them until I owned these. But again they were very, very comfortable.

Quality control has gone downhill recently. I have owned several pairs of Sperrys and a few Gold Cups. Recently I’ve had a hard time finding a pair that has a properly glued foot bed. I had to return two of these because the foot bed came apart in one pair and the replacement pair showed similar signs right out of the box. Sperry needs to get their QC straightened out. Shame because the shoes look great.

I went back and forth on this one. Should I buy the old familiar Topsiders, or spend $60 more for something new? I decided to take a chance with the more expensive ones, and I’m glad that I did. The big difference is comfort. When you come right down to it, you’re going to be wearing these shoes for quite some time so they should be as comfortable as possible. A year or two from now no one will know that you paid a premium price for your boat shoes, but your feet will know. Go for it. You won’t be sorry.

My son buys the same exact shoes every year for school. For some reason, this pair of Tan/Gum turned orangey. Zappos was great about taking them back. I will go with the Dark Tan from now on.

While this shoe is more expensive than most Sperry shoes, it is worth the extra expensive. The shoe is far more comfortable. The sole of the shoe is padded unlike most other Sperrys. The color is great as well. This pair is far more comfortable than regular priced Sperrys. As always, Zappos delivered promptly and still offers the best customer service out of any online retailer.

Bought these after owning 2 pairs of classics that fell apart after just one season. I read that these were better quality and I so far I have been impressed with the additional padding, and improved quality of the leather.

My husband loves these, we get a new pair of Sperrys every year because he wears them so much. These are to size and great looking, a very high quality shoe.

The Gold A/O two eye is the best of the best of the Sperry top sider line. The soft leather is as comfortable as it gets. Love the added gold touches.

Over the years I've owned literally dozens of pairs of Topsiders. This is, far and away, the most comfortable among them. It is, to be sure, a bit more expensive, but there is a little more structure, more cushioning and, I think, a better look. Just a month in I'd say it's an easy five stars. Durability? We'll see.

I have had numerous Sperry's; the last one I discarded was over 16 years old but these are the most comfortable and best fitting I have ever had. I did have to go up one size, not sure if it is because of the memory foam footbed, hopefully they last as long as my last pair. Zappos was terrific in sending me the replacement without any problems or questions. Thanks for making this a great "online" shopping experience.

This is my third pair of Sperry's and first in the gold cup series. Although their other products are comfortable, you get what you pay for with these. Soft leather, comfortable in-sole, and great looking in my opinion. I don't think you can go wrong with Sperry and if you can swing the extra money, go for these.

Most comfortable boats shoes I have ever owned, the leather is so soft and the inside comfort is night/day in difference compared to the walking on concrete feeling of normal topsiders.

It fits we very well. The leather liner to the foot pad began to come unglued and I used some Gorrilla Glue and it seemed to work. These are not Quoddy or Rancourt handmade boat shoes, but they are very lightweight and comfortable. they will not stand up to heavy use based on the build quality.

I resisted becoming a boat shoe wearer for years, having only tried on my dad's at various points, and not really understanding what the fuss was about. This year I needed something dressier than flip-flops but I'm not a loafer kind of guy. I first bought the less expensive Sperrys in the wider size and struggled a bit getting the size/fit right. On a whim I ordered the Gold Cups in the standard width, sizing up 1/2 size in length, and it's perfect. Not only that, the quality of these over the regular Authentic Originals more than makes up for the price increase. My only complaint seems to be a common one: the 3/4 length footbed liner can tend to peel back a bit, causing some discomfort just behind the ball of your foot. I think it's an easy enough fix with some adhesive (Shoe Goo?), but it's the one thing that keeps these from getting 5 stars from me.

My boyfriend loves these. They are comfortable and look very nice with jeans or khakis. Without socks, the bottom of your foot stains a little orange after wearing them.

I agree with another reviewer here; the quality control needs attention. I'm glad I checked the inside of these shoes first, because there was a tear in the leather. The next pair was fine, and just as comfortable as I remember. Would buy again, but be vigilant.

These shoes are extremely comfortable with the extra cushioning that come with the Gold version of the Top-Sider. The leather used in the shoe also seems to be a better quality and much softer than the regular Top-Sider. I have owned these shoes for six months now. It seems because a softer leather is used, the eyelets will not stay fixed to the shoes. I have had a number of them come loose on both shoes. I can sometimes get them pushed back in, but they always come loose exposing the sharp prongs used to hold them in place. I would not have expected this at six months especially at this price point. Due to this issue I would not buy another pair.

I grew up racing sailboats in Florida. Topsides were what everyone wore. Many of us kept a pair on board to ensure optimal deck traction. The Gold Cups are the Gold Standard. The one and only. They link me to my racing past and the style is timeless
