Best purse I have ever had! I love it! I'm so organized - pockets for everything. It's sleek and comfortable. I love the cross body strap it makes life so much easier. I would recommend this to anyone. Best thing I've bought in a long time.

This is a great travel bag. I have used a Tumi T-Tech bag for travel for several years, but the bag itself was heavy. This bag is very lightweight , has ample room to carry the things you need to carry on an extended international trip, and has very well designed, strategically placed pockets. I love the two zippered side pockets - they keep my phone, sunglasses, and keys at hand - no rummaging around in the bottom of the bag. The back pocket is perfect for travel documents, there is a passport-ready zippered pocket on the front. My iPad fits perfectly in the back inner compartment. It's an attractive, efficient, well designed bag. I highly recommend it.

This is one of the best bags I've ever owned! It has so many organizational pockets it's perfect for travel and everyday use. I used this bag for a trip to Las Vegas and it was a life saver! I like to be able to carry a water bottle along with my other essentials (wallet, sunglasses, phone, keys, etc.) and not have my shoulder ache at the end of the day. I bought it in navy but would love to have the poppy one too. This bag is perfect! If you're thinking about trying it out don't hesitate. It's totally worth the money! I will only travel with Tumi bags. They are the best!

Great bag; pockets to keep everything organized, very roomy but sleek and lightweight. Strap adjusts easily but stays in place and is comfortable.

I bought this bag in Slate Gray, wanting a non-black bag that was slightly bigger than my Marc Jacobs cross body. I loved the number of pockets and where the pockets were located and I loved the color. Upon receipt, the color was perfect and the pockets were fantastic (took a little getting used to, but now totally reliant on knowing where everything I need is stored!); however, I noted that the strap moved on its own -- elongating, no matter where you put the little loop that's meant to keep it the length you set it to. A little under three months later and I noticed the beautiful slate gray was getting dark gray streaks on its surface. Since purchase, the bag has gone from my apartment to the office and back again -- no vacations, no leaving it on the ground in the park, etc., i.e., no where for it to pick up these stains except for an occasional rain shower. One of the reasons I got nylon instead of leather was so that it would be a lower maintenance bag (I also like how little weight nylon is vs. leather). My Marc Jacobs bag is also nylon and has not shown any discoloration. The Tumi bag was more expensive and, from its general "name" recognition, I would expect that its quality would be as high, if not higher. I was very distressed that something that cost over hundreds of dollars would start to look worn (and kind of crappy) in as little as three months. Tumi has responded that there is nothing that it can do, as discoloration isn't covered under warranty. Needless to say, unless customer service changes its mind and swaps out the bag for a new one I can no longer be an advocate for its bags: that is simply too much money to spend on something so low quality that doesn't even make it one year, nevermind hard use.

I purchased the Sumatra crossbody for a trip to Europe. Upon first inspection, I liked the bag; however, after using it, I was very disappointed. The fabric is very nice and did not cause my clothing to pill as other bags had, but I found the bag very awkward to use. It has many pockets, in fact, too many. I spent too much time going through zipper to zipper. Worn crossbody, the strap also irritated my neck. These may sound minor, but after wearing and using the bag for 3 weeks, these became major issues. While the Sumatra crossbody looks very nice, I really wish I had looked further. It was a very expensive mistake.

I researched many options for a recent trip to Europe. I had to purchase this online without seeing it first and that paid off tremendously well. Great quality, a place for everything, light, comfortable and sufficiently stylish. It was the perfect travel companion.

The best purse I've ever gotten. Compartments for organizations are perfect as there are 3 outside front pockets of which only two can be seen and they are easy to locate and zip up or close. The way it goes across the shoulder and back is least imposing so the bag feels as part of the body. Smooth looking without too much flashy curves, just perfect for a tone down personality. Love this bag!

Wow...I do not write many reviews since I have very little time but I finally found a bag to bring on my trips without having one complaint about this not being right about the style or size or that not being right. I just got back from another trip and I could not resist, but to write a good review about an amazing product...Tumi always uses a great material...this style is super hip...and besides a wallet, a make up bag, a paper book and my reading glasses which I bring on a daily basis while touring cities or country sites....I can also fit my SLR camera with a 18 to 110 mm lens inside of the bag without making it look "stuffed" (in case I need to "hide" the bulky camera in crowded areas for a little while)...the bag is even big enough to put the iPad inside (smaller sized wallet and make up bag need to be used in that case, but it can be done without a problem)...the weight of the bag is nice enough to put personal items inside without being "weighed down"! I have used this bag many times now for city tours which last about 7 hours a day between visiting museums and walking from here to there. I never complain about back pain or shoulder pain from this bag! Needless to say I got many compliments. You need a stylish and practical bag to travel which has a strong shoulder strap and "fits" nicely on your body? Don't look any further...buy this one!

I got this in early 2013 and although I do agree that the strap is a bit hard to keep adjusted and can be irritating unless positioned just so, this bag is a winner for me. I have used it for multiple domestic and international trips, including ones where the crossbody feature is a MUST. The fairly open pocket is great for maps, etc. that one wants to access without opening the bag itself; the multiple inside zippers keep passports and wallets safe even if the first zipper is open. It is so lightweight! It also mooshes so that on occasion I can stuff it inside my "personal item" going onto a plane. My original is still in great shape. It is black and I just washed it in light dish detergent since it got a lot of use and I felt it was grimy, although it looked fine. I just ordered an additional one in black to keep in abeyance in case I need it. This is my permanent travel bag but it is so light, I want to use it at home winters and do not want to wear it out and not be able to have one for travel.

At last, the perfectly sized Tumi everyday bag. My iPad mini fits in the back outside pocket, iPhone in the front small pocket, large ID badge in the side zipper pocket, plus lots of room inside. Plus the color is so bright and happy, but goes well with jeans too. I only wish the ring for the key fob was closer to a pocket (so the keys don't clank when I walk) but that is the only annoyance I've had. I'm fighting the impulse to buy another in another color.

Okay, you're thinking to yourself, "OMG! That's expensive!" But it's perfect. Not so small that you can't get a large wallet in there, yet not so big that everything gets lost, causing you to dump the contents on your table in that fancy French restaurant, warranting a disapproving glance from the maitre'd. It's colorful enough to know it's yours (and not your skinny neighbor who drives the BMW), yet subtle enough that small children won't point. A place for everything, and easy to clean to boot. Perfect!

TUMI makes high quality and I just love this purse. I bought it for travel to New York City and I cant get myself to go back to my regular (maybe more fashionable purse. Zappos carried the slate color-which is beautiful. Not even the local TUMI store carries this color.

The Sumatra has by far become my most favorite bag for day trips and travel. I love that there are a multitude of pockets (zip pockets - front, 2 hidden side, top, 1 inside center, 1 inside back - and open pockets - 2 slip pockets and 2 pen holders inside, and 1 large with magnetic close in the back). Normally, bags with several pockets can get overstuffed causing the bag to be super heavy. However, I found that the design of the Sumatra actually distributes the weight well so it doesn't feel heavy at all - and I carry a lot of stuff! The wide strap makes it extremely comfortable to wear both crossbody and on the shoulder. Great for rainy days, too!

I love this bag, it's so comfortable and cute. The Poppy is a great and versatile color, goes with much more than I realized and really is a great color. Easy to find things because of the different compartments. Love this purse, great for travel and every day use.

I love it so much. I have the previous model too. I want to buy on other color but the product was discontinued. So I decided to pick this model. I love it, I love it.

I bought the Sumatra crossbody and the matching Vienna wristlet in purple (summer 2013) from the Tumi store (sorry, Zappos!) to take a beating during travel. I use only crossbody bags when in cities - that significantly reduces the risk of purse snatching. Overall I am satisfied, but I do have some quibbles. First the good: I love the look of the bag. A great, minimalist style that holds far more than you think it would. The purple is a brilliant shade that serves as a neutral and works with everything in my closet. I also love the olive green as a go-with-everything shade; the other colors, including this season's navy and orange, are less appealing to me. It also looks professional enough that I do not bother switching it out between trips - I wear it to work. It is hard to find a crossbody bag that is both functional and stylish. The less good: The strap has seams that are rough. Everything I have worn when carrying this bag as a crossbody has pilled, particularly in the chest area and on the back. Yet the strap is also slippery - it slides right through the strap adjuster, so I'm constantly fiddling with the length. Also, the material is not easy to keep clean. It looks like you would be able to just wipe it down, but dirt and scuff marks get ingrained very quickly and are difficult (or impossible) to remove. The only thing that keeps me from rating this bag low - besides how gorgeous it looks when brand new and clean - is that Tumi has awesome customer service. I question their quality, especially given the price point, but they have always been friendly and accommodating when I have had issues with their merchandise.

I finally had a chance to use in February 2013 when I traveled and it worked out well. I bought this bag to travel use only because it is way too big for everyday use for me since I like to minimize as much as possible. Since I'm 5'1" on the light side, I like the Voyageur line because it is made well but without the weight. It didn't feel too heavy even with packed bag. My only complaint is that when I adjust the shoulder strap for my height, the metal buckle hits the bony spot on my collar bone.

I bought this purse because I tend to like Tumi products - especially how well they stand up to the rough use I put them through. This bag is light, with many useful pockets. I can carry both a phone and an iPad, along with my wallet and other things. It is not a beautiful bag, but it is very functional and useful. My only problem is that the strap slips on my shoulders.

Too many pockets, and the poppy color is deeper (more like a brick red than a nice bright poppy color). I thought I'd really like this bag, being a huge Tumi Voyageur fan. These bags are so lightweight, well-made that they've become my exclusive tote bag (the Quintessential, of course) and I was looking for a shoulder/cross-body for everyday. The Melbourne was too Blah and too long. I like the middle zipper compartment for my wallet, which I like to keep as inaccessible as possible and therefore keep the clunky thing often in the side wall zipper pocket which makes any bag oddly shaped. I hemmed and hawed and finally took the plunge with the sale price. I'm glad I didn't pay full price. The bag would be great for travel, as it holds a lot. I was looking for something smaller to dump into my Quintessential tote for everyday running around. I settled on the Lugano Messenger which is the perfect size for everyday running around, although I can't secure my wallet in a zippered compartment.
I'd also recommend:

After searching long and hard for a crossbody bag with pockets I found the Tumi Voyager Sumatra. I thought it was fantastic with all it's pockets and wide strap. Sadly I was mistaken. As others have noted, the pockets may have been overkill. It's hard to remember which pocket kept which item. Also, the fabric inside the front side pockets was a bit excessive and got caught in the zippers. Still this is not why I returned the bag. Tumi is known as a very durable brand but the stitching on the bag was coming loose in a few different areas. If you do decide to buy this bag know that the structure of it depends on what you're carrying, and that can result in a painful strap (not always painful but not comfortable for a crossbody).
