Have used the recon for all of my high school and college careers. Also use this bag for track and field. Fits everything you could ever need and keeps it all organized! Love the double water bottle holders as well. Also keeps your laptop very safe. So much love for this backpack and hope the north face always carries it

Awesome backpack!! It hasn't let me down yet. There is a pocket for everything which is great. It is very comfortable once you get the straps adjusted.

I frequently use this backpack for light travel, such as as hiking. It is very lightweight and easily able to hold a full days worth of food and clothes. It is comfortable, but the long straps that hang down are from the tightening clips are unnecessarly long. I would reccomend this backpack for anyone who takes small hikes, commutes daily, or needs an inexpensive bag for occasional use.

I use this backpack for grad school, so I don't need to fit a lot in it, just mostly my computer. It fits everything I need and has so many different pockets to store small items as well. I also bought this for when I travel so I'm excited to use this when I go to Europe this summer!

I purchased this back pack for my daughter who is in College. She already had one in a different color all through high school and still uses that one for travel. After 4 years of heavy use it still looks great with an occasional trip in the washing machine and it looks brand new again. These back pack's are well made and built to last. There are many compartments and the straps adjust for all body types. Thank you Northface for making such quality products!

I use this backpack as a school backpack but it would also work great for things like day hikes. I was very timid to buy a new backpack as I was very attached to my old one but I absolutely love this bag. Very comfortable, and it has a lot of space but is not heavy or bulky at all!

I use this daily going to school. It has plenty of room for all my essentials and workout clothes while maintaining a slim profile. Plan to take it with me traveling as carry on.

This backpack has the perfect amount of room and I love all the little pockets! It's very comfortable to wear even when carrying something heavy!!

I like the way it is padded because it makes carrying heaving textbooks really easy. The zippers make for a great space for organizing smaller items as well, and the overall look is very simplistic which is exactly what I was looking for.

Used this backpack for day trips to Disneyland. It is comfortable and holds a lot. The backpack is slightly heavy without anything in it.

I use this product for school and I love it very much. Lightweight and can hold multiple binders. Many pockets for all my school supplies.

Overall I am satisfied with this backpack and plan to use it for the rest of college. However, there are a few things about this backpack that bother me. 1) I ordered the surf green color, in the picture it looked more mint colored, when I got it, it was more of a pastel neon green, if you can imagine that. Overall I was very disappointed with the color. 2) The bag is smaller than I thought it would be. I am a college student and needed a large bag, I find myself having to chose which things to leave each day because this backpack just cannot fit it all. Despite these issues I have been able to continue using this backpack and I would recommend it as long as the buyer is awareness that it is smaller than other bags.

Great backpack for school, weekend trips, hikes, and as a carry-on for flights. I had my first one for over 8 years, with only a few minor tears and dysfunctions. I was getting ready to replace it, when I tried my luck at getting them to replace it (there is a life time warranty for manufacturing defects), which they did in about 7 weeks. Worth the wait. I will continue to support this company for a long time.

The color is a turquoise color on the website. When I got it, its more of a teal, yes they are similar but I am very strict with my colors, i like things to be matched.

I bought this backpack for holiday trips in- and outside of the country I live in. I had a certain expectation when I bought the backpack, and it exceeded every one of them. The bag has small and large compartments that fit all of your items in a save way when you are on vacation, and the bag itself fits comfortable on your back.

I use this for my commutes to work and school, so I have a lot of my everyday needs in it. I thought the carrying capacity would be higher, but if you really stuff the bag it expands to fit everything, and it stretches out a bit. The bag is super lightweight and comfortable, I just have a few issues with the general design, but they aren't a big deal by any means.

As a student studying abroad, I wanted a heavy duty backpack that would be versatile between school and travel. This is perfect! It has numerous pockets and fits everything I need it to. I don't have to choose to leave anything behind and it's comfy for everything I want to lug around with me. Will definitely be a backpack I will buy again in the future.

This backpack is very comfortable and lightweight and easy to walk around and carry things like heavy books in. One of the great things about it is that there are straps to make it bigger and to fit more stuff into it if you are carrying a lot, but you can also fold it all back together and it becomes very small and easy to carry around. It is very easy and good for traveling because it is comfortable to walk around in and can fit a lot of things in it for big trips. There are lots of great pockets and little slips which I really like because I can feel safe putting small things in these pockets and not worry about losing them. One thing that The North Face could work on a little bit to make the backpack a little better than it already is would be to make the zippers a little less sticky. The zippers are okay, but sometimes when I zip them up or down they'll get stuck and I have to tug on them and jostle them around to get them working again. This backpack is great and I would definitely recommend getting it!
