The Router Backpack is a nice replacement fo my Surge backpack. It's large and roomy with both the rear pocket with the laptop space and middle pocket. The 3rd pocket which holds smaller items such as pens and zippered pocket area is Ok, which is similar in volume as the Surge, although I remember when that pocket was much larger in earlier versions. The top "sunglasses" pocket is spacious but don't like the position of the zipper at the bottom of the pocket, where items could fall out if the zipper is open. Othewise, it's a fine backpack good for travelling.

I bought this backpack for my son, who is a college freshman. His laptop (16.5) fits nicely and remains well protected. Extremely roomy backpack that has enough capacity to accommodate a weekend's worth of clothes (maybe more) if traveling. Backpack appears to be well made; I am hoping it will last a long time.

My Router Backpack meets all of my needs for leisure, travel and work. It has ample room, is waterproof, helps protects my back; thank you American Chiropractic Association and the added bonus, has a lifetime warranty. It doesn't get any better!

This was for my freshman daughter for high school and at first she wasn't thrilled to have a plain black and bigger size backpack to carry around. But after a week using it she tells me she loves it! She can fit all her books, notebooks, laptop, water bottle, and all her other miscellaneous personal items and still have room for even more stuff. This was a great buy which she can use for many years to come in school.

This is my favorite North Face bag. I use it for travel. It stands up by itself with my load and is spacious. However I find myself going to another bag from a different brand more that also stands up by itself. This is because this other bag has a mesh stuff pocket up in front. Router does not have this feature which is a ding for me.

Smaller, more compact that I imagined. There are lots of pockets, but does not expand out, so very compact. Side pockets will hold the Stanley Ice Flow water bottle, but not my RTIC 40oz. water bottle. It is doing the job so far.
I do like that the back tech compartment can hold my 15" MacBook Air and 13" iPad in their respective protective cases and not feel like thy are going to get crushed.

Amazing product, perfect for my college student. Second Northface Backpack we have purchased, the first was purchased nearly 30 years ago and is still going strong.

This is the third Router backpack I have bought. All my children going into high school got this backpack. It is big enough to hold their books, laptops, and other gear. It then is lasting them through college and beyond. Great for daily use and comfy on back. My children are not gentle on their backpacks and we have had no issues with ripping or fraying. Going to buy myself one soon!

My daughter will be a freshman in college and loves to travel! It is the perfect size for both. She had carried her last NF Sweeper backpack since 4th grade. We love the quality of North Face products.

I bought this for my daughter for college in fall and it is a great backpack. She wanted something comfortable, big with a lot of pocket options and a large holder for her water bottle. This fit all of those needs. While it is bigger, it doesn't feel that way. She is only 5'5" and 125 pounds so didn't want something uncomfortable.

There's lots of backpacks on the market. Some have interesting features that almost tempted me away from this brand. Decision time and I went with the Router. My previous bag was the Recon and I was looking for something bigger. This bag delivered. Absolutely love it. Bought my wife a new Recon while I was at it.

Purchased this for a trip to China - I didn't want to check luggage so wanted a backpack with space to spare. This bag was perfect! Kept my laptop safe. Straps allowed you to expand to contract the bag to perfectly fit my gear. It was also super comfortable- we had many trips across the country so I was wearing it frequently.

This pack is HUGE. Fits everything I need when traveling - Small enough to not be cumbersome as a carry-on backpack whether traveling for work or personal. Functionally perfect to be a carry-on if you're traveling for both business AND personal. Fits my laptop and electronics and allows me to carry necessities for my 2 kids that need plenty of On-Plane entertainment.
