I purchased this hat in Arizona, and it was wonderful for the day I wore it. I packed it, and it now just flops down on my face and ears and will not hold a shape. Waiting to hear back from San Diego Hat Company. 5/23/2012

I think this hat is horrible quality which is really sad, given that I had hoped for so much more and really love the style. I packed my brand new San Diego Hat Co. Garden Sun Hat for just one trip to Napa. When I took it out of the suitcase, it was creased, but a bit resilient; however, then I wore it and without it getting wet or stepped on or anything other than a day in hot sun, it's now a limp mess when I wear it. It had literally one day of beauty for this price...now it flops on all sides to the point where I can't see out of it. Do not expect anything of this hat beyond one wearing! I'm so disappointed.

I like that this hat is packable, has a strap for those windy days on the beach, and a wide brim to keep the sun at bay all around the face and neck.

This is my second hat like this and I love it! It looks fantastic on and keeps your head cool while keeping the sun off your face and it also travels great!

Very good quality hat! I really like that it travels well and can be packed and still maintains its shape. I've had this hat for almost 6 months and it is still perfect!

I love this hat! I work outside and wanted to prevent sun exposure to my face and hair. It's a classic style that looks good with everything, it doesn't make my head itch like most other hats, and it tends to breathe pretty well.

Finally, after a long search -- a stylish hat with a big brim for plenty of sun protection and also a chin strap to defy gusts of wind. Wish I'd found this years ago.

I bought my San Diego Hat Co. hat at a booth during the RV show in Quartzsite, AZ in early Spring of 2011. I live in the Central Washington desert country, and when ever there is sun (and if I'm not needing a cold weather hat), I often have my had on. I've really put this hat through it's paces...I've been working outside a lot doing a large landscaping project. I have a 6 inch wide sweat stain on the hat and have never washed it, but I consider it the best outdoor work hat I've ever owned. It is a little droopy, which is just fine for me as it gives me even more sun protection around my ears, neck, and forehead. When ever I go into our local big box hardware/lumber store, someone usually comments "Nice Hat!" - they are being genuine because it's apparent that it's rugged enough to stand up to some heavy duty use. I'm buying another one to give me sun protection where I need to be a little more "dressed up" and will reserve my "old" hat for the "dirty jobs" where I need sun protection. I wish I could toss it in the washing machine, but with the label saying 75% paper and the cleaning instruction saying "spot clean" I'm just going to buy two hats...one for "dress" and one for "work". I'm extremely satisfied.

Zappos is the best! Fast shipping and dependable, reliable service. I almost returned the hat...it sits lower on my head than I wanted, but it works to keep the sun off my face. I decided to keep it, because it looks stylish while providing the much needed sun protection I need. I have the wider brim in the brown color from the same company and I love it. Great quality. This is a perfect every day summer hat and can be carried folded in my large bag. It wears well.

This style has been my traveling hat for many years. The chin strap works for keeping the hat on in the wind (of course, duh) or to fold up the brim on the back in a sort of outback look, which is how I usually wear it. The hat gets a little bit crumpled-looking after being squashed in luggage, but since it's my traveling hat, that doesn't bother me much.

I need a sunhat for gardening, walking the dogs, and general activities in the TX sun. This was so close to being the right hat. Nice wide brim, which isn't so floppy it falls in your face. But the color was really yellow compared to other "straw" hats and I look ill in yellow.
