I normally wear an 11.5-12 and the 46 fits me great. I was hesitant to buy these because I need a wide toe box, but it is sufficiently wide for me. It is very difficult to find a ZERO DROP leather boot with room for toe splay. These aren't wide enough to wear CorrecToes with, but I'm fine with that. I have Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis and only use footwear with wide toe boxes, zero or low drop, little/no arch, and flexible soles. It is difficult to find well-fitting, comfortable, shoes (especially boots!) with this criteria that also have soles which absorb shock well. Most other are too squishy, not flexible, have incredibly narrow toe boxes, too much arch support, or just absorb shock very poorly. No other soles I've come across absorbs shock as well as Dr. Martens.
The leather in this model is not the highest quality and I would love to see this upgraded in the future. But the sole is just perfect and what I needed. The upper may take some time to break-in because there is a lining behind a thin layer of nubuck leather that keeps it stiffer than it may appear. I've had faux leather shoes that look more real than this... Doesn't look bad, just cheapens it a bit. Almost looks like black rubber rain boots from a short distance. It is still relatively flexible and I think it may keep my feet warmer than an unlined leather. It doesn't appear to be creasing as naturally as leather because of the material, but I don't have them fully broken in yet. The shape overall may take some getting used to. It isn't as clunky or chunky as most Dr.'s, and looks a bit more like a dress shoe/boot and the sole has a vulcanized sneaker look to it. The shape and style is more classy, but a nicer leather would make it even more so. Most boots with similar style are far too narrow and restrictive.

After breaking them in they’re great but getting there was rough. Bad pinching at the heel during the break in process, but comfy after that. Wish the laces weren’t such lint magnets and the tongue had its own loop to keep it from sliding every time I lace them up. Other than that I’m happy with the purchase.

I really like the look of the shoe but the tongue keeps slipping the the side which can get uncomfortable. The shoe needs something to fasten the tongue to the laces to stop this.

Was hoping for a cross between a boot and a sneaker, but this are HARD and definitely a boot. The tongue does not stay in place at all so it constantly slides to the outer side of the shoe and can be uncomfortable. Definitely a good quality shoe, but would not recommend for someone like myself who is a female who was looking for something stylish and comfortable.

I love Dr. Martens! This is my 3rd pair. They are great boots but I do have one complaint...unlike high top tennis shoes, there is nothing to secure the boots tongue from sliding around your leg when wearing them. Going to try cutting a couple of slits in the tongue to run the laces through. Hopefully that'll work and I don't ruin them.

I love the fit and I love the look. I bought them as kitchen shoes. The soles are not as slip resistant as I am used to but the look is well worth it. Standing on them all day hurts, but that was easily fixed with inserts.

Overall, I am a fan of these boots. They are a little tough to break-in, and come without insoles. I wear these for work, and after 11 hours on concrete, they are pretty kind to my feet!

I've been wearing 1460s 8 eyes for the past 20 years or so. The Tobias seems to be a sleeker, much lighter version. weight seems to be saved in the thinner, heel-less sole, and the thinner leather. The old 1460s were solid, unlined leather, where the Tobias are thinner leather, lined with cloth. Arch support is pretty terrible, but I pulled out the insole, and replaced with a firm yet supportive dr scholls. Thinner leather breaks in faster, and these were very comfortable after about 8-10 days, rather than 4 weeks with 1460s. Overall, very happy with them. Just replace the in-sole!

I tried about 5 pairs of boots before I landed on these. They're comfortable, and most importantly (for me in this particular instance), they have the style I was looking for. Weirdly, also spot on in the size department. True to size. Zappos as always was great. Quick shipping, very lenient on returns. I always try to come back when I need shoes. Also check out the Palladium Pampa Hi.

I had a pair of these for about a year. They then fell apart. They weren't too bad.I wasn't expecting a long life span because everything is made poorly today. Not extremely comfortable but not too bad either. I got another pair and they're starting to tear in just a couple of months of wear. I also only wear them about 3-4 days a week. I never really liked Dr. Martens because I thought they were clunky and had too much of a distinguishable brand name look to them. I just liked the style of the tobias because its a pretty lo-profile black boot.
These things are pieces of shit. Not worth $80 (even though thats cheap for a boot). The fact that they are falling apart within months of wearing several days a week is ridiculous. Would not recommend.
I own a pair Frye boots that are way less adolescent looking than Dr. Martens and have lasted much longer. Spend more money and get better boots.

Well, the sole was actually black, making the whole boot black and less appealing aesthetically. If they'd just said that from the get go, I wouldn't have to go through this minor hassle of returning them.
Not to mention they sent me two left feet! Hahaha that's nothing against the shoe itself, but still, what the...?

Disappointed with these shoes the second time around. I wore my first pair to death and loved them. They finally fell apart. I immediately ordered another pair. Unfortunately, they look quite different from the original pair and the advertised photo. The sole is no longer tan, but black. They also feel decidedly cheaper and stiffer.
