Wonderful boots, I actually gasped when I took the lid off the box. I ordered the only color available in my size, Etrusia (sp?) Fantasy, and they are actually a little darker than pictured, which is even better as far as I'm concerned. Shoe backstory: I'm not terribly old, but a few years ago I RUINED my arches by wearing mushy flip flops all summer. (Be careful, ladies!) So now I need either very supportive shoes or arch support inserts at all times, and can't tolerate really high heels. I am quite tall and I also wear a size 11-12. This shoe situation totally sucks, if you haven't already surmised. Thank you, Zappos, for existing. I ordered these in a size 43, which is incredibly hard to find. I can wear these with heavy wool socks. They are super comfortable, don't need any inserts. I just wore them to an outdoor, casual wedding and received dozens of compliments. They are very good looking, extremely high quality, and can be worn all day comfortably. When I buy a good boot, I wear it for many years, so the hefty price is fine. You get what you pay for. I am 5'10, very skinny ankles and fairly muscular calves (15.5 inches), so I was pleased these fit in both the ankle and calf. They are somewhat adjustable due to the tie up the back. I have the tie quite tightly laced, and they fit beautifully. So I would say they are good for an average to full calf, they could certainly accommodate a larger calf than mine. They only very minor criticism was that the laces tend to come untied easily; they are a kind of stiff, oiled shoelace. However, this means they won't fray, and to be truthful, it's kind of sexy to swing your boot up and re-tie them. :) Overall, A+.

This boot is amazing. After going through about 30 pairs (thanks Zappos!) of wide-calf boots, skinny boots, tall boots, I feel like I have finally found the one. They are comfortable, and the lacing provides you easy access to change the circumference of the entire boot shaft. This means any pair of pants can now become leggings!! I wear a 9.5 US shoe size, the size 41 fits perfectly. Not sure why they say to order larger as I did not experience any issues.

These boots are perfect. I'm on the heavier side (I wear a US women's pants size 18) so I have a really hard time finding boots that will zip over my calves. The back lacing on these takes care of that and looks super cute at the same time! They are close to as wide open as the laces will go, so if you're much larger than an 18 I'd be cautious. I just put them on for the first time today and right now I don't think I could tuck jeans inside them - maybe in a few days though when the leather has had a chance to stretch a bit. What else? They're very comfy with nice insoles, and the soles feel really solid. They make a satisfying "clack clack" when I walk and have actual treads on the bottom, unlike some fashion boots that would land you on your face if you stepped on some ice. Very happy I ordered these!

These are the best boots ever if you have a wide calf! I order pair after pair after pair and rarely do I find a boot that I actually take the time to review - but I am because I think that is so helpful when you are buying them and have a big calf! These are quality - great leather (hard to find in big calf boots) and actually have some style to them. Sizing - I wear an 8 1/2 to 9 and got the 40 perfect - can wear a sock inside. They fit perfect and the lace up the back can be adjusted - I have one calf that is 17 1/2 and one that is 16 3/4 for whatever reason and I am a normal size person. I have normal feet and normal ankles and these do not give me cankles! You can adjust the lace so they are perfect around your leg with no gaping at ankles. I have to let the lace almost completely out, but they still look great. I wore them today even though it was 65 degrees because I couldn't wait to wear them - lots of compliments, and comfortable all day on my feet. I got the gray which is an awesome color but will definitely buy them in black too or I will regret it later! Well worth the price! Could not be happier.

These boots looked so cute in the photo, but the shaft was way too wide for my calf (about 13/14 inches). I had to tighten the laces completely when wearing them over my jeans, and they were still too big.

Bought these for my daughter for Christmas. She loves them. Sexy, comfortable and different.

Very nice looking boots. The adjustable laces make it possible to customize the fit which was great. I have muscular calves but was able to very comfortably adjust these. One thing to note is that these are of very stiff leather. Not soft and supple like Pikolino's or others. So it will take a while for the leather to really wear in and soften for maximum comfort. But the heel/sole are great support and definitely comfortable to stand and walk in all day long. Sizing recommendation was spot on - I normally wear a size 6 and the 37 fit perfectly. I'm very happy with this purchase.

These are amazing boots! They fit my very wide calves with a little adjusting with the ties. They are beautifully made and the smoke color is perfect - it goes with everything! I love these! They are very unique!

I was happy to find these well made boots. Finding tall boots to fit is a tall order for me. They need to accommodate orthotics. And they need to to accommodate my calves which differ greatly in circumference due to an injury. The back lace makes that possible. The only complaints I have...the heel has a slippery plastic plate. I replaced them with non slip rubber. And the ties slip untied too easily. Those can be remedied. I expect to get many years of wear from these boots. I needed to order them a half size larger to ensure orthotics would fit.

Perfect! I put these on the day they arrived and walked over a mile in them in total comfort. After trying on countless pairs of knee-high boots at all price ranges, this was the first pair that fit my calf and are completely comfortable. I've worn them with leggings and a tunic and with tights and a dress, they look great with both, and the adjustable laces will also make it easy to tuck in jeans. I've already received compliments on them. They're beautifully made, I expect they will last years. The lacing up the back looks cute, and makes for a streamlined look from the front. There's a nice roomy toe box for my wide-ish feet and they adjust to fit my 16-inch calves. Although my foot overall is slender, my toes are slightly wider than normal, and I have a narrow heel. So while my toes are happy in these, the heel space is a little on the big side for me. There's less arch support than I'd like for a shoe of this price. However, there's plenty of room to add my own insert, and when I did the heel space issue was solved as well. I have thin ankles and would like to be able to tighten the ankle laces more than is possible, but that's a minor complaint. Brilliant boot, Wolky. I'll be back for the gray when I can afford it.

Beautiful boot. Adjustable laces are great if you want to wear jeans or leggings inside. I have worn Wolky before and they make a great product.

I was already a Wolky fan. I have several of their sandals, so when I saw these boots I was excited to try them. They fit my wide calves and short legs and look damn cute. Add to that the fact they don't really require much breaking in... and it was love!

I wasn't sure what I was getting into as I'd never heard of "Wolky" before, however I'm completely blown away. These boots are super comfortable, quite lovely and very functional. I can wear them to work with a dress/skirt, and I can wear them over a pair of skinny jeans for just about anything else. The ankle is a little large, but I have dainty ankles and the company says the boot is supposed to be a little loose. I love the tie detail up the back and find that it's actually helpful in getting the boot to fit!

Finally, great-looking boots that easily fit my 17 1/2 inch calves, AND fit my 10 1/2 inch ankles, AND look great doing it... AND are incredibly comfortable! The back laces are fantastic because they let you adjust fit without making the front of the boot look busy or having an elastic gore panel. These boots are genius. Literally every fall for the past 6 years I've ordered and returned at least 4 pairs of wide calf boots looking for something with fit, style, and quality. I've finally found them! Got both the grey and the black. Love.

Really cute boots, I get a lot of compliments on them as well. They are comfortable for walking, although because my feet are long and skinny I have to wear thick socks with them or they kind of feel loose even though the length is perfect. They fit kind of small: I'm a true 8 and had to order the 39s.

Very comfortable and stylish boot. I get compliments on them every time I wear them. I have a wide calf so it is nice to have a boot that I can fit to my size through the laces. They do run a little small; I normally wear a 39 but ordered a 40 in these. Only complaint is the laces are a little shorter than I'd like and can be a challenge to tie when I'm out and about.

I love these boots and have received many compliments on them. It is so handy to be able to adjust the size of the upper boot to accommodate jeans or tights! Nice quality leather and stitching. I ordered a size larger than I normally wear to accommodate heavy wool socks and they are plenty roomy.

This is the most expensive boot I have ever bought, but if you can afford them, they are worth it. I bought the grey ones, an unusual color I didn't have, and love how they look. After adjusting the laces they fit my small ankles/wide calves (17 1/4 & 17 1/2 calves). I have only worn them with skirts over leggings so far but hope to be able to wear them over skinny jeans. Probably not regular jeans for me, though. The feet have a very refined shape and the soles do not slip. I felt elegant walking over the frozen parking lot! I ordered an eleven although in a wide enough shoe I am really a ten, and this was the right choice for me. They would have been too narrow for me in a ten. I am really happy with these boots.

These boots are perfect! I am 5'6" and 130 lbs with large calves and I have never found a pair of boots I like before. These are well made and beautiful, and the lace-up back allows for a lot of adjustment. I ordered a size smaller than I thought I needed and they are still roomy enough for my thickest hiking socks. The insole is comfortable but not cushy, and I am glad I have room to add a different insole in the future for arch support and comfort.

Though I've never spent so much on a pair of boots before, I am quite happy with my purchase. They are a perfect color and I like the lacing detail. It does come untied a lot, though, which is slightly annoying. They aren't as comfortable as Born boots, for instance, but they are comfortable enough to walk in for a few hours. Overall, I love them, and I've worn them a lot.

Finally, after 30 years, my quest for the perfect tall boot is over! I have wide calves and most tall boots don't work, even when there is some elastic gore or other adjustment, but these boots are perfect! The lacing adjusts quite a bit and stays put (the laces are a little waxy and the holes are slotted so the lacing doesn't move unless you adjust it). Also, the boots don't gap and pinch at the ankles. The leather is really pretty with subtle variations (vegetable tanned with a vintage waxy feel). The insole is not as supportive as I normally wear, but I can easily add something under the removable footbed to augment the support. I normally wear a 10.5 and the 42 fits me perfectly. I can wear these with a thin sock or a thick sock and they feel great. I highly recommend these boots! They're a timeless style with a rugged femininity that will work with lots of outfits over the years. Oh, forgot to mention that the soles are lined with rubber and so your footing is secure! You'll love these!

I love these boots. I have received many compliments on them, even from my 20 year old daughter. The laces in the back allow an adjustment for wider or trimmer calves and they are so comfortable. I can wear my orthotics, but the removable insole felt very comfortable too. These are great boots to walk in.

Absolutely my favorite boot ever! They are stylish and I love the back corset style. I finally found a boot that fits my calf without sacrificing style. I wish I could get them in all the colors available but they don't have my size. As soon as they become available (hopefully soon) I will buy.

Thank goodness I took Zappos advice and ordered a 38. I'm a size 7, and usually order a 37; the 38 fit perfectly. The lace-up backs are a little naughty, and very nice. The boot adjusts to the calf, even with jeans/leggings tucked in. Perfect. Soft leather; solid heels and no-slip soles. P.S. Thank you Zappos and Mr. UPS for tolerating my multiple returns. I'm keeping these!

These are fantastic boots. They are made from quality leather with great construction, and they are stylish, with functional lace up detail on the back. My calves are 16" in circumference, and I have slender ankles, and I was able to dial in the fit with the laces in the back. I think these boots would still be fantastic for someone with 17-18" calves too. More than that, and the tongue in the back might start to gap. I normally wear between a size 7 - 7½, and generally fit into european size 38. My 38's fit perfectly. I think the sizing chart that Zappos has for this brand seems off by a little. If you order your normal size, it should be fine.
