I have tried both the first generation and the second generation of Valentina satchel. They're both fantastic. The first generation is the simplier design. It is currently my daily bag as it's beautiful, soft, and roomy enough to fit everything I need (including my ipad) without being too bulky. The second generation is the one with the extra metallic lines running down the front of the bag. The leather quality is a step up - it's so smooth, you'll want to rub your face on it! The second gen also seems a little sturdier, a little more spacious, and it has a cool extra back pocket with a magnetic clasp. The only cons with this bag is that it has no structure (can't stand alone) and no feet. But if you don't mine that, lovely bags.

I have two of these bags. They are beautiful in design and very well made. I don't love things, yet I do richly enjoy this beautiful bag. The sale price here on Zappos is a great buy. This is an American Designer and I am happy to have two of her bags. If you're on the fence, let me reiterate the quality is exceptional. You will not be disappointed!!!.... :)

I LOVE this handbag!I searched for a ideal bag for a while and I returned several bags on other sites before. It's really difficult to find a good one. When I received this bag and I thought "That's it!" I am so happy I don't need to look for anymore because I have this one. And my payment had some problem and I called the customer service for help. The girls who picked up my call were really friendly and helpful. I definitely will come back to buy something here.

I purchased the black and white crocodile style bag. Love this bag! Perfect size, nice light weight leather, great handle length, and a crossbody strap too. Beautiful design. Very minimal, yet sophisticated. The only mini minus is that it doesn't have feet to protect the bottom.

This a pretty bag. How ever turned out to be not quite what I am looking for. I had never heard of Botkier brand. May give it another try.

This satchel is absolutely gorgeous, a subtle and elegant shade of lavender in sumptuous glove quality leather. The only reasons I am not giving it 5 stars are (1) lack of feet on the bottom of the bag -- serious pet peeve of mine -- and (2) the zipper tends to stick, a problem which I hope will abate with time. Overall though, I think this will make a wonderful addition to anyone's spring/summer hand bag wardrobe!

I loved my Valentina bag at first. But then, six months in, the strap for the cross body broke. I wrote to Botkier, and they offered to replace the whole bag to see what was wrong. Then, they said their new bags weren't the same quality of leather (!), so they only gave me a replacement strap. That strap also broke a year later, and this time Botkier hasn't answered a single one of my inquiries about repair or replacement, which was really frustrating after the good customer service I got a year ago. The stitching has also come done on part of the bag. Honestly, it's a beautiful bag when it comes to design, but if it broke twice for me, I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually broke for everyone. If you're going to spend this much on a handbag, get a Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, or a Coach -- at least Coach openly advertises a repair service for the life of your bag. I've had one for 7 years, and the craftsmanship is much better than the Valentina. You're just better off investing your money elsewhere.
