These are awesome. I wear an 8/9 and went with a Med after 1st buying a Lg. They are perfect for covering up saddlebags/cellulite. The shorts also complement my natural muffin top.

Normally I am a size small, I am 5'5", 112 pounds, and pretty petite on top, smallish yet curvy on the bottom, I have a pretty round bottom. I was confused about which size to order from reviews I had read here and else where. Some people said they were 100 pounds, and a size small was just right. Other people said they were 128 pounds, and the small was perfect. Originally I found these at a department store but they only had medium and large sizes. So I tried on the mediums at the store. They were big. So that did not help my confusion. In the end I feel extra small sizes are very tricky for bottoms, so a small would be safe. I was right, the extra small would have been way too tight and the size small was perfect! As for the fit, it is flattering, cute, and comfortable. I like them slightly loose around the leg/thigh area. It is more slimming. I have not worn them swimming yet, but I plan to wear them to a water park next week. I hope this helps anyone in the sizing department.

I am an avid board short wearer and these are the most comfortable pair I have ever owned. They are great for moving around in, which I love for wakeboarding. The fold over does tend to creep up, but it really isn't a big issue. Great buy, highly recommend!

These are extremely comfy! They are fitted but not snug, which is just perfect! I love the length and the casual fit. I'm a 12, and I bought a large. They are a little looser than I'd like, but I think a M would be too small. The waistband is not snug--there is no tight elastic or anything which is neither a pro nor a con, just a statement. Super comfy though! If they end up being too loose and don't work for swimming etc. they will still be put to use.

Love the waist band. Wear mine to paddle board. True to size. Only wish they had more colors.

Size confusion! After reading the reviews, I was baffled about what size to order. I was worried they would run small because they have 'juniors' sizing. I am 5'8" 145 lbs. I wear a 10 in pants. The Large was great on me. I'm sure I could have worn the M, but I don't like things too tight. These shorts are AWESOME! I LOVE the fold-over waist on these. They are flattering on my figure which has produced two children. I ordered these for a vacation trip - swimming in them was no problem. These were so spectacular, I'm going back for another pair in a different color.

Love these boardshorts! They are very comfortable and flattering. They cover my hips and thighs, but still look so cute! The perfect boardshorts for curvy girls!

I love these shorts! I bought them to wear over a one piece bathing suit. They fit perfect. I am short and chunky (my weight is in my stomach) and wanted to avoid muffin top. These are great. They are cute and stylish as well - so I don't look like an old lady. I have not swam in them yet but I will soon. I always buy the swim skirts but I hate how I have to adjust them after swimming. I feel like they hang wrong once wet - but I can tell by the material these shorts will not. I am 5'2" and bought size XL. They are the perfect length and the material around the waist doesn't cut into my belly fat.

I love these! I usually don't like wearing shorts, but I needed something to wear at the beach. I am 4'11"/ 103, and the small is very cute and comfortable.

So comfortable and the fold over waist band is very flattering. These would be great for in and out of the water.

These are very comfortable. I am 5'6", 125 and I ordered a small, they fit perfect. The fold over waist is a slick material so I find it doesn't stay folded completely. But it always settles into a good spot without looking bulky under a shirt.

really like these. I wanted a bottom for my active times while on vacation. The only thing I worry about is that theres not swimsuit lining under these shorts. They wear like a short, not a swimsuit (although they are swimsuit appropriate). They fit really well. I went a size up and was glad I did. My thighs also touch, and these don't ride up in a gross way at all. I'm 5'7" 160#!

I wear a size 6 and got a size small they fit perfect - not loose like on the model. I would highly recommend them.

These are very comfortable but they do fit more snug. If you want a more loose fit, I would try sizing up.

I had been looking all over for some shorts like these- and I'm so glad I finally found them. They go perfectly over your swimsuit and the waistband makes it feel like it's not even there. Everything about these shorts is perfect...material, waistband, length and of course...they're Roxy!

Love these swim shorts! Super comfortable. Was a little nervous ordering because in my experience Roxy runs small, but got the XL and they are perfect! I'm 5'4" and very curvy. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a bikini bottom alternative.

I've been wearing swim skirts for years - only option for modesty & comfort, I thought. These board shorts are the perfect alternative! Not knowing which size to get or whether they would stretch out when wet, I got both med & large. I wear 8-10 petite pant, and the med fit snug, the large fit with plenty of room in let & waist. I wore the large to the beach snorkeling & they were perfect! Super comfy, wide waist can be worn up or folded, it never binds. No rash on inner thighs after snorkeling - awesome! These dry very quickly & never felt heavy or clingy when wet. These are the best swim bottom I've ever worn! And did I mention they are super flattering, even on a 60 year old, not so skinny beach loving lady? Give these a try, you are apt to love them, too!

Cutest shorts ever. I am a 4 time mommy. 47 and it provides great camouflage for the stretchmarks on my tummy. I'm way past bikinis but still want to be fashionable and these do it. The waistband is not quite as generous as portrayed in the picture and I have a flat tummy. But I love them just the same.

I love these shorts. They do run a little big. I took a risk (not really thanks to Zappos) and ordered a small when in general I am consistently a size 6 and these fit great. I have only tried them on, not use them to swim or hang out in the beach so I cannot comment on that yet, but they look awesome on. Thanks!

These shorts are a must have for a beach vacation! The top is a swimsuit like material that makes them comfortable and because it folds the length is adjustable. Wore in the water and about town. Flattering for all shapes and sizes.

These fit and look great, and are comfortable. I especially like the stretchy fabric at the top that accommodates my pregnant stomach. However, they aren't lined at all, and I wanted something that could pass as a swim suit bottom. These are too open for that. Too bad I will have to return and go with a swim skort instead. These really are nice, they just don't work for what I need.

I didn't realize that the shorts were lycra, like a swimsuit and I have to say I really like it! They look stylish and make me feel comfortable getting out on the wakeboard because I get some nice coverage. I like that the waist can be rolled down or up too. Very comfortable!
