I loved these boots right out of the box. I ordered the Teak Glaze and found the fit perfect (I ordered half a size down, based on previous reviews). The only problem - after a second wearing I noticed that the leather had started to crack on the foot and that patches were missing, showing what looked like a light colored material beneath. I cannot imagine leather so paper thin (perhaps just the glaze came off?) and I am wondering if this is indeed defective, as a previous reviewer noted regarding this color. Buyer beware. As always, Zappos was fantastic, offering to send a replacement overnight and accepting the original in return. I optimistically asked for the glazed teak again - hope the problem will not repeat, but if it does, I will update this post.

great looking boot but very stiff and narrow. leather is very nice but too stiff and hard around the toes.

I really wanted to love these boots. They were too narrow in the foot, and so loose in the calves that they looked funny. I tried to fix them by adjusting the laces, but that only created a bulge in the calf area that looked unnatural. I am returning them tomorrow. The color however is beautiful.

I love the style of these boots, and they are comfortable, but the teak glaze color, do not purchase. The glaze on these boots is defective and started cracking and peeling off in large pieces only after wearing twice. I have talked with Bed Stu and they were very helpful and aware of the issue and have pulled this color from their line. I am not sure why Zappos is still offering this color. The Bed Stu website has a color similar, teak rustic, which is not the glaze. Zappos was also very helpful and willing to take the boots back with a full refund. I wear a standard size 9 and these boots were a little big, the 8½ fit perfectly.

Loved the boots and the way they fit, but they are a very poor quality. Wore the boots for a short afternoon and the leather peeled apart like skin after a bad sunburn. I love boots after a little bit worn, but this was not the case.

I gave these boots to my daughter in law for her birthday and she was thrilled with them. The size was perfect since we went down a half size. She wore them to work one day (in an office) and the leather cracked and peeled. I have never seen leather do this. Very disappointed.

Im really surprised so many people like this boot! I got mine in the mail last night and am so disappointed. 1) they shaft doesn't stand up so this is a slouchy boot! I'm 5'5 and have moderate sized calves 2) there is a fold running right up the center because the leather is so 'soft' - more like cheap if you ask me! 3) the glaze or finish on the leather is chipping away like paint in the front of the boot right along that fold - and this i noticed as soon as I took them out of the package. :/ For the price tag I thought I was getting a stiff, stand up boot that doesn't need to be pulled up or worry about slouching. I'm so bummed about having to ship them back!

I love these boots !! The right one was a little tight for me but I wore a sock with some rubbing alcohol in them and in 10 minutes they stretched out and now a perfect fit…

Beautiful color and shape.

I’m usually size 7 , I ordered Bedstu Manchester in wide calf , when they came they were too wide & too narrow very tight on my feet , I returned them for size 7.5 but still The wide calf was too bog for me the size 7.5 was loose . I did not give up . I returned them once more & ordered for size 7 Manchester ( Not wide calf ), Waoh I’m over the moon they fit very well , look great on my calf . They do so beautiful , I m glad I finally got the right ones . Thank you Zappos for ur great service you never disappoint

Size 10, fits perfectly. Looks great with a skirt or leggings.

So good! I love the leather next to my skin as there is no artificial cloth lining in this boot at all, your feet breath. They fit good and snug, for someone who doesn't wear socks that is a win and in time the leather will break in to fit my feet exactly. I wore them all day today and they were so comfortable already. I have average to athletic calves and they fit snug as I prefer, the laces in the back make them a bit adjustable too. The leather is just high quality, the red stitching against the black is so subtle but amazing, that detail makes this boot exceptional.

Absolutely love these - bought the Stu Manchester II first in a light brown color and as soon as I got them, I knew I needed them in black too. I do think they're a little narrow, but my feet are a little on the wide side, so something to keep in mind if yours are too, but nothing that can't be managed with a thin sock. Love the lace up detail in the back & was worried that the calf would be too tight on me (especially over jeans) based on some other reviews, but they were fine (calves are ~13.5" without jeans). Definitely recommend!

I have had these for three years and am not easy on boots and they are still rocking with no major wear. They are snazzy, comfortable, and will keep you feet happy while dancing or exploring into the morning.

WOW! I wanted so much to love these boots and I DO!! OMG. They fit like a glove - the transition from foot to shaft is perfect, and no weird up-turn in the toe. Tie back top is perfect for my leaner calves and the color is to die for (taupe). I don't think i have ever loved a pair of shoes or boots more!

I’ve had history with this brand and think they run small. Both in length and width. At least half of size. Other than that the quality is great and love their style.

BUMMER!!! These are hands down the cutest boots I've found...and I have tried on A LOT. My problem is my height. I'm 5'5 with long(er) legs and a short torso. Still, the shaft height was simply too high. The top of the boots cut into my knee, and would never have looked as good as they would on a taller person. I have average calves, so the ability to adjust the tie at the top would have bee perfect if they had only been a bit shorter. This is the third pair of Bed Stu boots I have tried, and this seems to be a consistent problem for me. I'm bummed, as I absolutely love the look of these well made boots. Sadly, they are going back.

These boots were everything I hoped for and I was like a kid in a candy store when I took them out of the package. Unfortunately my calves were too big for them and it was a very unattractive look to see my legs shoved in the gorgeous leather like sausage casings. If you do not have big calves these boots are unique and beautiful! So grateful for the awesome Zappos return policy!

These are not at all like the picture. They have a completely black leather top and a brown leather foot. The picture makes them look all crackled and cool. Just not what I expected or thought I ordered. They were very comfortable though.

Best boots EVER!!!

Love these boots!! I usually wear a 9 or a 9.5 and had to get these in a 10 because the calves are so skinny. The 9.5 wouldn’t fit over my skinny jeans, and I don’t have big legs by any means. I get compliments on them all of the time! However, they are a bit slouchy around the ankle. I don’t know if it’s because I ordered up a half size, but there was NO WAY the 9.5 fit over my jeans. Worth the money!

I love these boots, I've always wanted black with red stitching. They are comfortable and fit like a glove. I'm a 10.5 and ordered the 11, with socks they're perfect. I can't wait until the weather gets cooler!!!!!

I love the look of this boot but contrary to other reviews I've read, it runs small. I wear and 8-1/2 shoe and always get a 9 in boots since I don't want a snug fit. I ordered down to an 8-1/2 as others recommended but it was too small, even without socks on. Additionally, I have thin legs but these were tight around the upper calf. Will order again and size up to a 9-1/2.
