Our 7 year-old son has gross motor / planning deficits (among other things) -- he is essentially unable to avoid obstacles and his gait is impacted. He used to be in SMAFOs (low ankle braces) so I have become well-informed about interpreting how he throws his feet / bends them in terms of figuring out what's working for (or against) him. These sandals are fantastic because while they have great support, the sole is so flexible that he is able to "feel" the impediment upon which he might be stepping and react. For children who need that input through the soles of their feet (either so their brains can tell their toes to flex or whatever, like Sensory input), these are great. That is not to say they are thin -- they are not. There is definitely adequate protection / cushion, so it's not as if a pebble is going to cause a princess-and-the-pea reaction. But the flex is excellent. They are also really easy on and off, so for those whose children are unable to "help" put on their shoes (by pointing their toes or extending their ankles, for example), these are great for that. Plus the easy (and long) velcro tab, which stays put (!), makes it easy. My only nit is that, due to the fisherman sandal design, you have to be careful a pinky toe doesn't accidentally get left poking out. It happened to us once and, due to our son's disabilities, he was unable to communicate that. We caught it and have been vigilant ever since. Oh! Plus they are washable which removes any stink. I really love these sandals and will purchase the pediped brand again for this child.

Very wide. My boys have medium to narrow feet and could not wear these. They are super flexible and comfy but too roomy.

These are well-made, comfortable, waterproof sandals. The pediped websites says to go up one size for this style, but because they are fitted in a size range (ie 9-9.5) I would say go only half a size up. I love how they are less clunky and more flexible and thus allow natural foot movement compared to Keens. This is especially important for my two year old. Also, great that the toe is protected from bumping.

Great new shoe from Pediped and an improvement from last years sandal. The foot bed is cushy foam instead of fabric so more durable and water resistant. They do run a full size large.

My son had a pair of these last summer that we absolutely loved. So easy to get on and off, are cool while still providing support and protection, dry quickly and wash up well in the machine. Imagine my disappointment when I accidentally left them on top of the car when we were departing from the beach on vacation. Thankfully that was at the end of the summer. This year I knew I wanted to get him another pair. Absolutely recommend to parents of toddler and small children! it's nice to be able to wash them and not have them fall apart. Just make sure to use the Pediped sizing guide. They do run a little big (which is great for my guy who has wide, thick feet).

My kids love wearing this same shoe every summer, in a new color each year. They wear them during summer camp, in and out of the water (sprinklers and splash pads), to the beach in the sand, and hiking through the woods. They allow the foot to breathe in the hottest weather (90 plus degrees) but keep them secure while running, scooting, splashing, climbing trees and hiking. Overall a great summer shoe and transition from spring or fall.

This is our third pair of these sandals for my son. I love that they’re closed toe so he doesn’t hurt his toes if he runs in them. Great summer sandals for a busy toddler!

Super cute, seem to be comfy - my 16-month-old son was running in them straight out of the box. Seem like a great summer shoe. They do run a size big. We had to go with a 20, whereas he's been wearing a 21 in other Pedipeds and a 5 (21) in See Kai Run shoes.

I just bought my second pair of these for my son. He picked them out last summer and now he's grown and needs another pair. They are easy to get on and off and the velcro seems to last and last. We live at the beach and no amount of salt or sand seems to affect the velcro. Easy to clean and has never left a blister on my sons feet. Great buy!

Love these shoes. My 22 month old's feet can run quite hot and these have been the perfect answer for this Summer. Flexible sole allows my toddler to walk (and run!) very comfortably.

The sandals are wonderful! I love that they are durable and machine washable! They do run big so we had to return them for a smaller size than what the chart recommended.

Great little sandal for my son. Fairly attractive (which in my opinion, many boys sandals are not), super comfortable, and durable. I like that they're machine washable. They're easy to get on and off - my 1.5 year old can almost do it himself. My son's foot is a medium width and they fit just fine with a little extra room. Would definitely purchase these again.

My sons feet were hot and sweaty and a blister on top of 2nd toe. After walking with them for 3 blocks he had me carry him bk home which thankfully was one block away

That's my 3 yo favorite sandals. They are nice, light and flexible. Easily washed and great for playing near the water. He is wearing them for the second year and they are a little bit tight for him now. I really wanted to buy the same sandals in larger size but there is none available. I hope another similar sandals of the same brand will work for us.

Nice sandals

My 4.5 year old daughter loves these. We've tried so many of these type of shoes (keen, merrell, teva, etc) but these are so much better. She can put these on herself easily and she can go for long walks in them and doesn't complain about her feet hurting (like she has in the past with vans or converse). She can wear them with or without socks and they're easily washable. She's worn them every day for 4 months and they're still going strong.

Love these, supportive and easy to wear. Runs large but worth figuring out the proper size. Our child has a high instep and arch, this shoe is the right combination of flexible yet protective.

Very comfortable did my active toddler. Good grip on the ground and supports his feet well.

My 17 month old LOVES these shoes- probably because he knows when he wears them we are headed for a hike! They’re fantastic for muddy trails and uneven terrain. The ultra flexible sole seems great for balance. Easy to hose off, too. Not the cutest shoe, but they do the job well!

I have been buying these sandals for my first kid who is 7 now and for my second child. These sandals don’t disappoint. I love them. Strong grip on the bottom and protects feet/toes. A little pricey.

It ran big, but once we got the correct size they were perfect. Comfortable for my kid. Nice colors. And very sturdy!
