I do not look good in hats and I have a small head. Two hat challenges. (I just measured and my crown is 21.25") This hat looks pretty good on me and it's not huge like most hats are for me. In fact it is pretty snug fitting, so if you have a large head, this will not fit you. And for me, the brim is just the right width. I want to block the sun, but still be able to see without having a floppy brim obscuring my vision. This does that perfectly!

This is literally my first review after hundreds (thousands?) of orders on Zappos. I want to help my fellow ladies out and this hat is awesome! My head does not fit into most hats...which is weird b/c I'm a tall very thin person. But it doesn't and it's really frustrating. I guess I have a big head, so I'm sure others must have this problem, too. This hat is perfect because it's a bit stretchy and there's no ribbon or anything constricting at the top. (I'm assuming it would fit small and medium heads, too, just not stretch as much) I also love that the brim does not hang down into your face. It's the perfect sun hat for me, finally! And easily packable, too! Hope that helps!

The picture does not do this cute hat justice. It is a heavy woven fiber giving it an SPF of 50+ (which I love). It has a wire running 'round the outer edge of the brim so you can shape the brim however you want, and I have had fun with that. I wanted (needed?) a white hat but I nearly didn't purchase this one based on the above picture, but do not be afraid -- it is cute, able to be stylish, protective, and fun. Oh, the brim stands out enough that it'll give good sun coverage without being ridiculous, a la the Italian film sirens of the '50s.

I've had a beast of a time finding a summer hat that my husband wouldn't make fun of. I'm fair and need something at the beach with the kiddos and other sun-shiny events. This fit the latter need, but not the former. I only wear it when my husband isn't looking.

I received this hat yesterday and thought I should share my thoughts. First off, I am petite and I know that is my problem, but the brim on this hat is way to big for a small frame. I am 4" 8" and the brim looks like an umbrella on me. Sorry that I have to return it. Shopping is hard for someone my size.

Fits my head just right. Perfect size to keep off the sun without being huge. Doesn't block my peripheral vision and no concerns about smacking into people around me. Breathes well enough to not make my head hot even in direct sun for hours. Took it on a test drive through Disney World and worked great. The celery color is very faintly green in a neutral sort of way. Brim is floppy and adjustable. 100% cotton seems like it will be a big plus in that it will be easily washable and should not irritate my finicky skin.

Love these hats. I have a small head and they are a great fit for me. They breathe which makes them comfy in the heat of strong sun. I garden a lot and feel protected from the sun's rays. I love the big floppy brim which can be shaped to one's liking.

This is perfect hat for short bob hair style. It fits snugly so stays on unless the breeze is gusty. The color name celery is not the name I would choose, perhaps blanched celery. It is a light, slightly warm neutral. The only problem was that this was at the bottom of a heavy box. I am still working on steaming and reforming the crown, over a week now. But I am doing this because otherwise it is a perfect and well made hat, just as San Diego Hat Company always produces. This one is perfect for me.

This hat has a weird, high crown. Like it sits 2 inches above my head like a grampa's trucker hat. I know that's a weird description. Also, the color is off. Not khaki, not nude, sort of grayish beige. I ordered the Ribbon Crusher hat instead, and I think that one will be nicer.

Be stunningly beautiful while Sunday safe. These hats are the best to protect from harmful sun effects that are proven to cause skin cancer. I own five of these hats to coordinate with my outfits. I just came back from a cruise to Bermuda and these hats are an essential. I received many compliments. I add scarfs to the brim to add a sparkle or matching color interest. I have put pins on them and flowers. They are a great canvas for artistic creativity and personalization. They are light weight and pack flat. Do not squint, do not burn. Get these amazing hats. But do not keep these packed just for travel. Use them every day that you are exposed to the sun's wicked and sneaky rays.

Small heads/small faces rejoice! This hat is fabulous and really one of the only ones that "work" for me. I have an older hat that I have machine washed/line-dried for years---shrank a bit but still fits perfectly.

LOVE this hat! It’s comfortable and looks great. You can shape the brim to make changes to the style and it’s cotton, so it keeps you cool. It’s easy to pack; take it with you! I loved it so much, I bought one for my daughter in a different color.

I am very careful to not get sun on my face so I wear a hat when I am outdoors for any length of time. I am petite so most of the hats that look good on me do not have much of a brim, and I look ridiculous in most wide brimmed hats. This hat is is perfect for me. It provides good sun protection, goes with everything and best of all does not look like a space ship landed on my head.

I love this hat. I have it in multiple colors. I also have the same hat with a larger brim, but this brim (3.5") is the perfect size for everyday wear. It tends to be warmer than some hats but not uncomfortable and does not seem to smash my hair. I have a small head and this is one hat that always fits me. It is also easy to pack and wash by hand. I let it air dry outside. The tan color I bought last year got snatched over night by some animal when I left it on the deck to dry. (I have been watching for a fox or raccoon wearing it!) The brim has wire in the edge so it can be manipulated into the shape that is most flattering to my face. Also a great price. I have been buying these for years. I just got the denim and the stone to replace the one that was snatched.

Good sun protection beach hat. Keeps sun off face and neck, but not too big. Especially like the SPF. Washable by hand. Wouldn't buy dark color if you plan to sit in hot sun.

Great hat! Looks good, fits great, stays on, UV protection and style. Reasonably priced. Don't hesitate - if you need a hat buy this one.

The only straw hat that doesn't make me look like a fool. I love it. It's beautifully made and has a jaunty design. I've ordered and returned close to 20 hats. This one's a keeper. Also bought one for a friend. Wish they made them in more colors.

Cute classic sun hat. Great for pool. Very comfortable way to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. I love how San Diego Hat Co leaves their hats very plain so you can decorate them up if you want with ribbons or chin straps.

I'm a big fan of this brand and have many of their hats in different colours and styles. If I could only have one hat this would be it! It is considered a wide brim but doesn't look or feel that way compared to others. The fit is snug but comfortable and I have a small/medium size head. I do not fear it will blow off my head as I do with other hats. The hat is made of a soft cotton fabric but can still bend and shape it. I got it in the denim colour and looks better in person than the photo.

Ordered this hat yesterday and it arrived today. I have a hard time finding hats large enough to fit my head comfortably. This one is perfect! Love the hat! Love Zappos customer service.

Best sun hat I've ever had. Love that it packs flat and you can travel with it. The wire in the brim holds the shape of the hat. Super flattering not over the top like some sun hats can be. There is some stretch in it too so it really stays on your head. I wore it on windy days on the beach and it stayed in place. Great price for the quality.

Hands down best hat ever and I get so many complements about it! Easy to wear easy to throw in the car or suitcase lets all the air through so never hot and sticky underneath. Such a great hat with fabulous sun protection too.

Great sun hat! I love that it's 100% cotton --- my scalp can breathe when it's hot and particularly humid. Foundation makeup does 'bleed' onto the inside of the brim, but it's not visible, and washes out nicely with a bit of pre-wash spray.

Love this hat! It's so flexible, packs easily and regained it's shape beautifully upon unpacking. Cleaned up easily with a quick hand rinsing after being soiled from sweat under the hot sun. Love that it can be styled in almost any brim style and it's comfortable. Incredible value.
