Sadly, I had to return these. Also the only pair of Danskos that have resulted in severe foot and toe discomfort. I wore them around my house for part of a day and ended up with debilitating blisters. So glad I could return them, but I will have to search for another closed toe cute Dansko shoe.

Hey, Zappos! How can I review a shoe's "comfort" and "overall" WHEN IT DOES NOT FIT? I was very disappointed to receive two pairs of "Sam" Danskos that were so narrow I didn't even try to get my foot any further into it. I have bought "Sams" before--I wore one pair out entirely and replaced it, plus another I bought so long ago I can't remember the year. Both are holding up great--it's a cute and easy shoe to wear. Though Danskos aren't in wide sizes, I've always been able to wear them in and they last just about forever. Oooh, I just looked under my desk and I'm wearing the black pair now. Duh. Too bad these won't work--the red and teak are reallllly good colors.

The bottom of the shoe appears to be wood in the picture, however it is some sort of rubber with a wood grain imprint. To me they looked cheap and I thought the heel would scuff easily and get black marks on them as other rubber does. I returned them.
