These are comfortable right out of the box. The strap placement is far enough back so that it does not cut into the top of the foot. My complaint with Dansko, and it is not a new feature with this shoe, is the fake suede-like poly footbed material. It looks good at first, but it easily gets dirty, attracts dirt it does not absorb sweat and by the end of the season, there will be a darkened foot impression that just looks nasty. But I buy them anyways because there are so few options out there.

I love Dansko clogs, so I was excited to try their sandals. After reading so many glowing reviews of the black shagreen color, I decided to give it a shot. The sandals are comfy, but I don't like the black shagreen color. It's almost like a black suede with a spray of semi-glossy/iridescent white and moss/minty green spots. I'd prefer a pair of black wear-with-anything sandals. So I'm returning the black shagreen shoes to try a different color.

I wear a size 9 and ordered a size 40 and it is short, but I have to tighten the buckles all the way so a bigger size will probably be too big. They seemed really comfortable if you can wear them!

Ordered Dansko Sheri's at the same time and love them. These were a little funky style wise for me...

I bought this shoe for a trip to Europe last summer where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. I also wanted a shoe that looked good with a skirt or dress. The Sophie looked good and was comfortable except that the straps had a scratchy part on the inside where the buckle is and rubbed my foot raw. Probably for just average use it would be fine but I don't recommend these if you are on your feet all day and walking. Bummer because the arch was good as was the heel padding.

I loved these shoes, but I never could wear them because my feet felt like they were getting no support even after I tightened them. I only wore them twice, and my feet hurt after.

These are adorable. They run a little big, I got a 38 and probably should have bought a 37, but couldn't wait to wear them. They have great Dansko support but are narrower in the toe area than I expect from Dansko.

Pretty shoes, but too short. Had to return. I have many Danskos and am always a 41, but on this one it was too small. There was no 42 in stock at the time of re-order. I wish the footbed was a darker color, I am afraid it will get dirty. Love Zappos return policy. So easy!

Dansko Sophie is a comfortable shoe that I decided to keep. Pros: Decent arch support Fairly comfortable Nice heel Cons: Sizing is way off. I am 7.5 and after trying 2 different sizes opted to keep 39(!). Light beige man-made lining is a) super hot; b) gets dirty very easily. At this price, there are better options.

This are cute enough (as far as Dansko's are concerned), but as others have said, run VERY short and are very narrow. I am almost always a 35 and had to go up to a 36. I might have even been more comfortable in a 37, but didn't have time to try those. Also, while these are definitely comfortable, they are nowhere near as supportive as the 3 pairs of the "Professional" I own are. They are a little too "cushy" for my liking.

Three stars overall because they run short. I normally wear a 10 and in European sizes, either a 40 or a 41. In other Dansko sandals, I wear a 41. I ordered the 41 in this shoe and it's way too short. I'm trying the 42 and hope I don't need a 43. The footbed is way comfortable! Nice shoe.

These did not offer any arch support and made my normal feet look pudgy. Wanted them to feel like my Dansko Tashas. They feel blah on...my Tashas are by far more comfortable and soothing to my plantar fasciitis. Back to the store they go. I won't buy anymore Danskos with this type of heel because they are not true to size either. My big toe was partly hanging off the end. Too small. If you do buy, order a half a size bigger...but then they might make your foot look bigger.

The shoes are comfortable and fairly pretty. However, sizing is way off. I am size 7.5. Given reviews, I ordered size 38 and 39. 38 felt a bit too small, and 39 a bit too big. I ended up keeping the 39, but it does bother me that there is a bit of space around my foot. But my biggest gripe is with the foot bed lining. It is man-made fabric. I did not think much about it when I decided to keep the shoes, but once outside I quickly realized my mistake - the fabric heats up very quickly and makes my feet sweat (I generally have cold feet that never sweat!). Even at 80F, I feel mildly uncomfortable.

First of all, Zappos was great at shipping these shoes quickly, this review is not about Zappos, but about Dansko. While this shoe is cute, the sizing is all wrong. Dansko should pay more attention to the the accuracy of the sizes: I always wear a 39 in Dansko, but I had to get these in 40. I could have used a 39.5. 39 was too small, 40 is too big. I do like the adjustable straps. I have other Dansko sandals that are too tight across the foot. Makes me wonder where the shoes are made and who check the quality and measurements. Not sure if I will buy another Dansko shoe. But I will definitely order my shoes at Zappos again, they make it easy to order, easy to track and easy to return if needed, and quickly.

I've been a Dansko fan for years. Unfortunately, they recently changed manufacturers and their sizes aren't quite what they used to be. I toggle between a 7.5 and an 8, and the old Dansko 38 was a perfect fit for my foot. Not anymore. The 38s are too small, and the 39s are too big. This particular sandal fit "okay" in a 39, but wasn't quite right. So I had to - unfortunately - return both pairs. On another note, the beige sandal in the picture looks like it's metallic (which I was hoping for). It's not. It's just the light hits the shoe when photographed. It's basically a two-toned beige/brown snakeskin. For both of these reasons, I returned the shoes. I wish Dansko hadn't messed with their sizing. They lost a very loyal customer.

I am looking for comfy sandals following 2 foot surgeries. These are very comfortable, but I don't find them particularly stylish. They seem rather clunky & orthopedic looking. I ordered them in pretty much every color. Just not my style.

I walked in these for a while but knew they would not be comfortable walking in Europe. I am sure they are good shoes but they also were not attractive on my foot. Zappos is the fastest for delivery and the easiest for returns.

Beautiful shoe. Worth the money for the quality. But the size is not true. It is too short. I believe that if it had been long enough, the comfort would have been amazing.

Was so disappointed - I have so many other Danskos and it was a cinch to just order another one and know it would be perfect. I can't put my finger on it - did measuring of everything but this shoe is just smaller fitting than all my other Sophie styles! I have to return.

Super comfortable but odd color. The ivory vine pattern is too close to skin color. Looks like an old lady shoe in this color. I have since bought 2 others in this style that I love! Gold snake and black shagreen. I am a teacher on my feet all day. These are the only shoes I can wear.

I have been a Dansko customer for years. But this shoe is not up to the usual Dansko standard. The footbed is much smaller than other Dansko sandals that I am now wearing and all the same size.What is going on? Is Dansko cutting back on size and quality as a cost-cutting measure?

I liked the look of this shoe but it was narrow. I wear a B width and sometimes Danskos are a little wide, but this was narrow. I also have a high instep and the strap across the top of my foot was tight, even when I adjusted it. It is a smart looking sandal, but will be sending it back.

Loved the shoe, but feel it runs small. Just ordered it and today cannot find it on the website. So disappointed.

These ran a bit narrow but the straps were also inconsistent, with the instep strap being too tight even at the loosest while the toe strap was fine. The toe strap is curved and it cut off my toes in a weird way. I am returning these.
