These had great arch support but were too narrow, especially in the mid sole for my wide feet (EE including bunions). They are more like a D width. Make sure you get the right size so the arch support hits the correct part if your foot. They are well-built, heavier than average because they're Chacos, and look like they'd last a long time.

I second everyone's comments about the straps now being too large. I have had a pair of the EcoTread for at least four years and the old strap was a much better fit (and I have wide feet). I feel bad returning the shoes because this will be my third try (my size was originally not in stock). I have also had the Flip Vibe. The soles on those didn't hold up as long as my EcoTreads. Hopefully my old Chacos will hold up for the time being because I really love them.

I bought these shoes over a year ago, and it's only now, after numerous failed attempts, that I have finally trained myself to wear them. The arch is so high that it exaggerates my natural tendency to supinate, or walk on the outside of my foot. When I wear the Chacos, they actually throw me off balance and my foot tends to slide even more towards the outside edge of the shoe.
The shoe is well-made, and the arch support is excellent: almost too good, if that makes any sense. And to be fair, Chaco does NOT advertise that their shoes are good for those of us rare creatures who supinate rather than pronate. In fact, I can't find any shoe made especially for us.
So it is not Chaco's fault that the shoe doesn't work for me. I was just desperate to find a flip flop with excellent arch support, since my orthopedic surgeon insists that I need to wear backless shoes, due to severe Achilles tendinopathy, but ones that are approved by the American Podiatry Association, as these Chacos are. And I got them at a great sale price, too!
The Chaco is true to size, but it just barely fits my foot, both in length and width. [I have a slightly-wider-than-average toe box.] The textured footbed is a bit uncomfortable, but you can get used to it. The straps on the Chaco are also tight: not too tight, but after wearing the shoes for a few hours, the straps seem to make normal end-of-the-day foot swelling a bit worse, and they become uncomfortable for me. But again, the straps may feel tight to me because of my extremely high arches and wide forefoot.
So for those of you with high arches who pronate, with feet that are normal to narrow in width, these would be a good choice if you need firm arch support. But I have gravitated towards Olukai Ohanas for my supination instead.

I have Plantar fasciitis and a very painful heel spur on the bottom of my heel. A doctor and friends recommended this brand. I wear a 9m in everything. This shoe was too narrow. It also had so much tread o the foot bed that it wasn't comfortable on the soles of my foot. The strap between the toes is made of canvas and is very thick. I have ordered a few other styles of Chacos in a wide with hoping they will fit because the arch support is really good. Remember, length is very accurate but this is a narrow flip flop. Also heavy! Good luck!

So bummed! I was really looking forward to these - cute color, great price! My old pair in pink is like 6 years old now and I wear them everywhere, have washed them many times and well, definitely needed replacing. But the straps are bigger or longer or something on these, which makes that horrible flap flap flap sound when you walk. I put my old ones on to see if I was just crazy but sure enough - the old ones are tighter (even after all these years and washings) and don't make that annoying sound. Again really bummed.

I agree, these fabric band flips run wide. The leather Chaco is a bit narrower and therefor fit me better. I usually wear an 8N, so was glad to get the leathers that fit. I had to return and reorder the fabric band. If you have slender or narrow feet, I suggedy you try one size down.

After six years on one pair, I ordered another. Unfortunately, fitting on this shoe isn't easy. I downloaded the foot measuring sheet, tried one pair (too narrow), tried another (arch in wrong place). The third pair fits, but the strapping is made for a thicker foot. I don't have the courage or energy to return it again, I'm trying a different shoe.

If you bought Chacos in the past they fit differently now! I wish that I had read reviews mentioning this before buying. I wore Chaco size 10 flip-flops for years and absolutely love them. I bought this pair in the same size but the new pair fits too widely. I wanted to exchange them to try a smaller size but they went off sale so I decided to keep the 10s because I like the color and did not want to end up paying full price. But I am disappointed that the new pair fits so differently than the old pair. If you are used to old Chacos or have narrow feet you might want to order smaller than your old size. They are really cute, but not a great value like my first pair which fit so much better.

Darn! The straps on these have become looser and sloppier than my older Chaco Flips. These flop around too much and are awkward to walk in. Chacos, why did you change the strap size on these? Are we all expected to grow fatter feet now? These used to be my favorite flips on the planet, but, alas, no more. The color is beautiful though.

I purchased these to replace a pair that's about 5 years old. These are NOTHING like they used to be. Thin and flimsy with minimal arch support, very disappointed I will have to find a new brand. Will be returning.

The straps on my previous Chaco flips finally came apart after 12 years. I have tried several times to replace them, but these flips are just not made like they used to be. A couple pairs had obvious defects in the shape of the footbed. The straps are thinner and the fabric is not comfortable. I have wide feet, but find the wides too big and the regulars too tight, though my old pair were the regular width. I usually wear a 6 but am a 5 in chacos. If you can get a non-defective pair and they fit your feet, they can be a great every day sandal with arch support, perfect for walking and traveling. Unfortunately for me, I am disappointed that the quality has gone down and will have to find something else.

Ugh! The straps on these flip flops are too loose!! They have such a great foot bed and arch support but I see no way of adjusting the straps so they won't work. I have read many other reviews saying the same thing, so hopefully the company will take notice and re-design this shoe.

Wow. Nope. These have such potential with the decent arch and construction and such. But my feet aren't particularly narrow or small, and they were absolutely swimming in the mediums. I agree with other reviewers, these fit more like a shoe designed for a man. The straps are ridiculous. Without any way to adjust the straps, I walk right out of them. I ordered a 10 and I wear a 9.5 most often.

I ordered this show because it was available in Wide, but it arrived in standard width. It was not very comfortable and not cute enough to justify the discomfort. I returned it.

I have purchased Chaco sandals in the past - always fit great. The straps on these sandals are way too big, and I cannot keep them on my feet.

I wore my first pair of Chacos for almost 8 years (& wore them everyday - no lie!). The side strap finally gave up the ghost, so I naturally purchased the same brand - same style - to replace them. I should have read the latest reviews but thought I was getting the same shoe - WRONG! Right out of the box, realized that the straps are now looser & make it difficult to walk without feeling as if they're going to fly off my feet! The length is a tad shorter than my previous pair but not enough for me to change sizes. Found out that Merrill had bought out Chacos & for some reason, have changed the fit! This will be my last pair & it breaks by heart!

I bought these with idea wide would be better than regulars I have and love. I am 9-9.5 med or wide. I didn’t realize I own 10 regulars. I bought 9 wide too short

These were purchased to replace my beloved Chaco Tanana sandals which finally wore out and are now unavailable. So, my review is essentially a comparison between a different style--which I loved--and this shoe. I am not a fan of the Flip EcoTread. The footbed is not nearly as comfortable as the Tanana--it is stubby instead of the cushiony "LUVseat platform" that the Tananas offered. Although it has an arch (relative to your standard cheap flip), it is moderate and not nearly as supportive as what the Tanana or Z2s offer. The width is perfect for my medium to narrow feet, but I don't think they would work for wide feet. The strapping however is comfortable and soft out of the box. The non-slip sole is nice. I wore the Tananas year round since we have hardwood floors in the house, but I can't see these Flip EcoTreads as anything but a transitional shoe until I find a flip that offers more arch support and more comfortable footbed. Again relative to the Tananas, I think these are overpriced for what they offer and I'm disappointed by the shoe.

I've owned several pairs of Chaco's flips over the past several years and am finding myself highly disappointed in this years version. I've always worn these to the bone as soon as the weather permits here in Colorado, I live in them and they've never disappointed. Immediately upon trying these on however, I knew they just wouldn't be the same as past versions. The straps seem to be much looser and designed for larger feet, my feet are swimming in them and with no way to tighten them down my feet slide around with every step. Otherwise, size (as far as length and width of the foot base) seems the same. The straps also seem to be made of cheaper material than past years, they're not as thick, and appear to be of cheaper material-they don't seem that they'll hold up as well as past years straps. Overall, I wish I could find my size in past years versions of this sandal because I'm not excited about this newest version. They just don't fit right because of the strap changes making them uncomfortable. Plus side of them-I love the new colors...but the sandals just don't fit for me unfortunately. They definitely seem re-designed this year for a larger foot.

If you have the double whammy of wide food and high instep, this might not be a good fit. The wide foot bed was ample but the thong straps weren't "tall" enough for my foot. Add a little summer swelling and I would have been miserable.

If you need good arch support, this is not the Chaco's for you. I purchased this one along with the Hipthong Two EchoTread. I LOVE the Hipthong (great arch support) but this cute little flip flop has none.

These were huge! I'd purchased an 8 regular from a different retailer and when they arrived I found them to be too narrow and a bit short, putting the arch in the wrong place. So, I tried on a 9 in a store to check the arch placement knowing I would likely still need the wide. Based on that, I ordered the 9 wide from Zappos. These are so much longer than the regular 9 I had to double check them to make sure I didn't receive a pair of men's by mistake. I'm returning and getting an 8 wide, so hopefully they will work. I have heard so many good things about Chacos and am dying for flip flops I can wear with my plantar fasciitis, so I was pretty bummed.
