LOVE the shoes. The wider shoe makes your feet feel GREAT. Can wear heavier socks and no feeling that the foot is smashed.

These are the only shoes out there that fit, and they fit perfectly. If they ever stop making them, I may have to kill myself...or at least stop wearing shoes.

I love these shoes. I usually where a 10 wide, because of the reviews I ordered a 10 4E. The shoes were a half inch too long and too wide. I re-ordered a 9 1/2 Wide and they fit perfectly. NB hasn't changed at all. The best tip I found from reviews "When buying NB don't buy anything under 1,000" I love the NB 1540 and will buy these shoes until they quit making them. The large toe box is my favorite feature, no blisters the 1st day of wearing.

LOVE these!!! They have a sturdy sole, not ultra-flexible, so it works well for my plantar faciitis. Toe bed is roomy. They come in narrow, and it fits well. Very happy with them.

My favorite 2+ year old pair of 1123 needed to be retired and wanted a similar replacement shoe. After reading the reviews, I made a point of going to a nearby store carrying New Balance to have my feet measured...11-2A. I tried on several NB styles and really wanted the 1123 fit. I drove 45 minutes to the NB outlet store and tried on the 1540 in size 10.5-2A. It was a tad too short. So, I confidently ordered NB 1540 in size 11-2A. My order arrived quickly and I excitedly tried them on - perfect fit! My old 1123 is size 10-2A and my new 1540 is size 11-2A. By taking the time and effort to have your feet properly measured, you can confidently order this shoe in your measured size. I am 56 years old and weigh 240 lbs. I can power walk 4MPH comfortably and feel well supported in my NB 1540. Thanks Zappos for carrying this shoe in my hard-to-find size!

If you really need wide shoes, my 4E size shoes tend to look boxy because I actually have small, but wide feet. It's difficult to find small, very wide shoes that are comfortable. These fit the bill. I've purchased four pairs in the last 4 years.

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis in my feet and ankles and have been searching for a solid walking/every day shoe. I'm so glad I stumbled on this version at a Good Feet store. I wear them nearly every day and have found I can stay on my feet for hours longer than in other athletic shoes. My husband and I love to browse flea markets and antique stores, and now I can keep up with him for a lot longer. Delighted with this product!

I need a good sneaker with support and this is the one. Even showed it to my orthopedic and he said it was a great sneaker. It's comfy and sturdy. Didn't take any precautions of the style changing so I bought an extra pair! I always buy sneakers 1/2 larger than my shoe size and it fit great.

As a former wearer of the 1122's and 1123's, I actually like this sneaker very much! I love the new look, and think it's more flattering and not as boxy as the 1123's. The only difference is I had to go up 1/2 size (from 8 to 8 1/2), but the D width is still good for my orthotics.

Love them! I have flat feet and these have stopped the shin pain after jogging. It's hard to find a really perfect running shoe for me. These are number 2 for a lifetime of running!

I am very happy with these shoes. Although on paper there was every reason in the world to think that the old 1123 would have been good shoes for me, they were never comfortable and I ended up giving them away. I was reluctant to try these because I had been unhappy with the 1123, but I am glad that I did. These shoes are much better for me. I recently had reconstructive foot surgery, and these are the only shoes that I am wearing right now. I do feel they are half size short, but I got a wider width than my usual, and they are fine. I will be buying these shoes again.

Love these shoes. I am very hard to fit and must have orthotic friendly shoes. These work! I wish there were colors other than white.

I really like these shoes. They are narrow in the heel and roomier in the toe area, so they are just right for my feet. They have pretty good stability, but I had to add my own arch supports. They are better looking than most stability trainers.

I had to exchange these because the toe box was smaller than usual for New Balance. I went up half a size, and the shoes seemed maybe just a tad wide in the larger size. I like the support. I don't have to lace these up as tight as usual to support my "bag of marbles" hypermobile feet. I got these in black. But the markings definitely say "athletic shoe" so I won't be able to pass these off as dress shoes.

Nope - just can't wear them, they're too short, hurt my toes. I'm disappointed -- I've worn the same NB size for decades, why mess with it? Have to send them back, try again a half-size larger.

I've been wearing NB for almost 20 years. Worn a 7D the entire time. These shoes are short, baby. My other shoes still fit, my feet ain't growing. I'm nervous though about getting a bigger pair, because I wouldn't want them any wider or more boatlike. Here's hoping the toe will stretch a bit. NB, stop changing your shoes and sizes. Go through this every time.

Not a good shoe for bunions. There is no "give" in the fabric for a bunion. I've never had a problem with leather shoes and my bunion. Its too bad because it would have been a great shoe to replace the 927 that was discontinued.

The extra wide feels the same as the wide. The wide sneaker size was fine as I need it for my post bunion surgery. But a bit disappointed because I could have used another pair that is wider.

Why do people with wide feet have to be punished like this? These clodhoppers are very comfortable, but why so ugly? The shoe is orthotic friendly and I use orthotics so I can't really speak to the arch support. Thank you God that I have feet. I try to remember that.

I'm normally an 8.5 - 9 so to be on the safe side I ordered these in a 9, unfortunately I found them to be short so had to return for a 9.5. Width is fine, but the length seemed a bit shorter than standard. Great shoe though, my plantar fasciitis gives me zero trouble when I wear these.

I wear only NB, always 9AA, regardless of style. Reviews refer to fit change from previous 1123, which I've worn. Most wore wide, so I thought I'd be fine with narrow foot. I needed shoes immediately, so ordered both 9 and 9.5. Need 9.5 and even with longer length, shoe is tight across instep, due to rigid band on outer foot. SL2 is my favorite NB last--narrow heel and wider, deeper toe box, but this shoe doesn't fit SL2 toe box description. 1540 is the shoe podiatrist wants me to wear, so I'll keep 9.5, but they'll have to stretch before I can wear full orthotics--just heel cups for now.

I miss my w1123's I was able to take them straight from the box and go. I NEVER had to break them in. I do like the color change, but I had to go from a 2E to a 4E. and what a price jump. For someone who has a plate and screws in her foot and needs a good shoe these prices are getting crazy.

Ordered this shoe as a replacement for the 1123 but as others have stated it is not a true replacement. I have always orders an 11AA but his new shoe is too short and rubs my toe. Also seems tight (more narrow) but that could be due to the newness? Just looking at the shoe, you can tell the toe box is larger. So I reordered in a 12AA (no 11 1/2 so I'm guessing the 12=11 1/2). I've bought New Balance for years & years and a plus was that they are made in the USA. But I was disappointed this time. Why change a good product?

Although the tongue was padded, it was too long and rubbed on my foot. I have a narrow foot so I ordered both the narrow and medium width. The medium was too wide, and the narrow rubbed where it flexed when I walked. This really only discouraged me because I am looking for a shoe to do the Susan G Komen 3 day walk. Too long to have something rubbing.

I am so glad that I can find half sizes online. My New Balance Store only carries full sizes when they are large shoes.
