I read through the reviews and chose this shoe because of the reported wide toe box. I have had problems with the width of other running shoes, and agree that the Ryka Motive's toe box is definitely more spacious than most, and fits my forefoot very well. I have worn Asics comfortably for many years, but have been looking for a lower price alternative. I also chose the shoe because I was looking for good cushioning, and the photos showed generously thick sole. The mid-foot and heel cushioning are great, but there is less forefoot cushioning than I would have thought. However, when I put in my green SuperFeet insoles, I found the overall cushioning to be just right (the insoles fit very well, even with the Ryka insoles in place over top). I also really like the light breathable forefoot fabric, which I think will be great in warm weather. My only complaint about the shoe is that the tongue is a bit narrow, which is only a problem with my extra insoles in place (I have a high instep). The shoes are so comfortable that I wore them around the house for many hours the day they arrived and they didn't call attention to themselves once (that's a good thing). I think this is a great shoe for the money, but time will tell whether they will "go the distance".

I love my Ryka Motives...in fact this is my second pair. I have Plantar fascitis and Ryka was recommended for me. Zappos was inexpensive and very quick when I ordered them.

The shoes are very comfortable and light. Fit to size for me, I usually wear an 8 and they are perfect. They are very light on the foot and you can feel air, which I like because my feet don't feel suffocated.

Very comfortable shoe. Breathable, so my feet stay cool. Roomy toe box and good support. That being said, I have narrow feet, thus with the extra room in the toe box, my feet have a tendency to slide a wee bit when taking my fitness class, but with thicker socks and tighter lacing, I believe that issue would be non-existent for me. I also love the bright turquoise color.

Thank you Zappos! I finally found a shoe that fits. I will be ordering another" Ryka motive great wide toe box & narrow heel & depth of shoe was an awesome fit. Realized i must have 10 1/2 and not a lot of places sell 1/2 sizes after 9 1/2 & not sure if that is because shoe makes don't make them or very few places carry them.

These are great sneakers. True to fit. Very comfortable. Lightweight. Would purchase again.

I have wide feet and have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable. These fit PERFECT from the first time I put them on! So comfortable and no breaking in! I have gotten a lot of compliments on them, too. :)

Wonderful running shoes! Cannot believe how light they are! So far so good for this runner who always lands on the outer edge of her shoe.

I expected to like this shoe's many features, but unfortunately, it lacks one that I need--an arch support. It's also a little big, but even getting a smaller size wouldn't fix the arch problem, so I must return them. Too bad.

I am a long distance runner and alternate shoes often. These shoes offer minimal support which I sometimes like. They are comfortable and do not cause friction. They are good for wide feet. They break down pretty quickly.

Love this sneaker, my problem has always been shoes to tight in the toe area in this one my toes swim, which I love and did not expect looking at the shoe. It fits in the heel so it doesn't fall off. It is lightweight and breathable. There is not much cushioning on the bottom of the foot, but there is arch support. Looking at other Ryka's now to see if I can get one that is like this on the top but has a little more on the bottom.

I have purchased other Ryka sneakers and enjoyed the look and stability they give. This style is cute, but the fit just isn't what I've come to expect. Just felt "flimsier" to me. Had them a few weeks and they're fine, just not up to my expectations. On the plus side, they are incredibly light!

I walk a lot, maybe about 25-35 miles a week. These shoes were falling apart near the end of one month. Not even 2 months in and I need to replace them. The soles started to separate from the mesh of the shoe. I do like the breathable mesh. I was able to step in morning dew and not have soaked feet.

I can't imagine anyone running in this shoe except for someone used to trails, minimal support and the sense of almost barefoot. I couldn't feel any support. Actually, the feel was more like a laced-up slipper. As this was my second attempt, I'm wondering if Ryka is the place for running shoes.
