I love the GT series. I have some pretty temperamental feet, and the GT's are the only shoes I run with. So far, I've used the 2130, 2140, and now these. My favorite so far is 2140, but these are great too. I just wish they would stop changing them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Overall, great running shoe.

I like these shoes. They have great support. They are wearing well.

I had worn Asics GT 2150s for the last four years until they stopped making them. Naturally, I transitioned into the GT 2170s and wasn't quite as pleased with how they felt. I'm a female who runs 40-50 mpw, and while this shoe was very supportive, the weight of the shoe (about 12 oz?) combined with the lack of flexibility in the sole made this shoe less than ideal for me. If you're looking for support and stability this is a great shoe. If you're looking for versatility so you can use the same shoe for speed work and tempo running also, I personally wouldn't recommend the GT 2170s.

I have owned 3 pairs of these shoes. In my opinion, they are very comfortable, and work well with medium arches and a cushioned insole. The only problem I have with these is that they wear out WAY too quickly, and I also agree with another reviewer that they keep getting narrower with each release. I am a female with a wide forefoot / toe box and normal heels. I had to get a width of 2E in these shoes, and they are still too narrow. The right shoe now has a hole where my pinky toe is and the left shoe has a hole in the top of the big toe area. This breaks my heart, because they are so comfortable. I don't want to have to buy a new pair of running shoes every 4 months because of holes in the mesh! Also, the wider widths only come in "male" colors, so I had to get black. Now I need to go try Brooks and Altra, as these are the only brands I've researched that are made for wider feet. It just stinks because I really don't feel my feet are that wide, and that shoe companies only make narrow shoes for women. I have always loved Asics, but now feel that I have to go find a different brand of running shoe.

I got these because they seemed to have better than usual arch support. They were also comfortable in warm weather too. If you wear them casually they will be one of your favorites. However if you will wear them daily then I am afraid that they will not hold up for you. While the mesh breathes well it does not hold up well. I have a few holes in mine after a few months of wear. I had them away for winter and broke em back out but after wearing them a few days thus far for spring they already have more holes and the one that were just starting when I put them away last fall are now large enough for my piggy to go to the market! I guess I am a little hard on my shoes but this is a little too weak.

Slightly disappointed. I will be the first to admit my husband isn't the easiest person on his shoes. The first weekend he got these he went out and played in the mud. Add to that walking to school and helping to take care of our two boys, he wears these shoes for everything. But they haven't held up. The seam on the sides is coming out. My husband has a double extra wide foot, so thank you for coming in his size. Just wish they would have hung in there longer.

I have an older pair of Asics (Gel Cumulus 11) in a Men's size 8 (yes, I am a girl wearing men's shoes) that I have worn for years at the gym and have loved them. I bought the same size in this style and the fit was way too narrow and it felt pretty tight. I also didn't like that the laces seem to be a lot shorter than my last pair of Asics.

I ordered a pair, but had to return them. While the footbed of the shoe was large enough, the upper was too small. The gel in the heel is nice, but it seems to make your feet roll all the weight to the outside of the foot.

I really like these shoes, they have good arch support for my high arches and I don't have to wear orthotics with them. However, after a year, both of them have huge holes in the upper side of the toe where the netting is. At first it just looked silly that you could see my colorful sock collection all the time, but the holes have now gotten big enough that my toes now actually poke out and get stuck sometimes when I'm running. If it were just one foot, I'd write it off, but it's both of them now, and I can see from the other reviews that I'm not the only one. Really annoying that expensive shoes like this don't last very well. (I don't work these shoes super hard -- I walk a lot in them and go to the gym a couple times a week only.)

I wear a 14B, and my last three running shoes were in the 2000 series - which provided the best fit. The toe box on the 2170 has been reduced in size and is too small for me.

I love the look of these shoes - great neon green laces. First time with Asics and these are going back. I run about 20-25 mi per week. Felt like I had cardboard strapped to my feet as I ran with these... Funky toe box too. Not a good run. I'd heard so many great things about Asics, but I guess they're not for me!

They began falling apart 3 months after purchase. It first developed a hole in the upper mesh area near my toes. And then the glue on the sole wore out and pieces of the sole feel off. It's concerning that these shoes only last 4 months with moderate wear. I only wore these to and from work (I would change into dress shoes at work). If you plan to jog in them, they will most likely only last a month or two.

These are probably my least favorite running shoes I've ever had. I bought them on the strength of the reviews here on Zappos, but have found them to be really uncomfortable to run in. I've tried using Dean Karnazes insoles in them to no avail. My biggest complaints are that they are heavy and they feel inflexible.

I tried the ASICS GT-2170™ 4E width. They seemed more narrow than my ASICS GEL-Kahana® 6 of the same size and width. Not wide enough for me. I also didn't care for the metallic color. I prefer more subdued colors.
