These boots are so comfortable and nice looking. I put them on and I was able to wear them for a long period of time doing a lot of walking without getting any blisters or having any discomfort. I highly recommend these boots!

These are my dream boots. But, too small for my calves. They fit over leggings but not quite over skinny jeans. Frye- hear our cries and make these boots for those of us who are dress size 8 and above!

Beautiful and very comfortable and soft and love Frye. Everything the calf opening is a little narrow if you are a little more muscular.

I like this boot because it is a simple style and has a lower shaft height. I am only 5'1" and most boot shafts are too high for me. The leather is good quality, but the sole is plastic and a bit thin. Could be tough on your feet if you had to stand all day. Overall, though, I am very happy with this boot.

I am on the hunt for the perfect black boot, and ended up keeping these although they are not perfect. They look fabulous on and fit my calves perfectly, and I hope they will break in a bit in the heel area (I am doing fine in tights, socks, and a bandaid over the little blister they gave me on one foot on the first wearing). The one real downside for me is the half-zip - I am a lazy butt and want to just kick my boots off when I unzip them. These you have to pull off. Not a big complaint, obviously, but maybe a consideration for others.

Beautiful flat boots are hard to find. These fit the bill. They are pricey but I wanted a pair of boots that would last more that one season that were sleek and well made. They were a bit stiff when they arrived (not painful) but reminded me of rainboots. They have broken in beautifully after a couple of days they are exactly what I hoped for. Shaft has softened a bit and crease is not obvious as it was right out of the box.

I have been looking for a pair of boots that are comfortable enough to wear around all day- I needed a shoe I could tailgate in, walk & shop all over town in, travel with and also nice enough to wear with work clothes. So, I ended up ordering this pair of boots. So far, I'm very pleased! These are a perfect blend of a slender cut boot w/enough room in the toe box, so I ordered my usual size 9. These As some other reviews mentioned, they don't have tons of cushioning, however, that hasn't been an issue despite wearing them all day. The sole is well made (leather + rubber detailing for teaction) & you could always add an insert if needed.. I love that these boots are flexible & lightweight (esp. compared to other frye boots). I was nervous that they would slouch on my calves since they are less stiff in structure than other styles, but they really hold their shape well & go well with pants or dresses. I have somewhat slim legs & narrow heels-- I was thrilled that hey dont rub on my heels & they fit my calves well wearing tights or with skinny jeans. Now, if only I could order them in more colors!

This is a beautiful boot. The color is a faded gray, and the fit seems true to size. I have large feet (size 11), and one of them is wider than the other, so I am having difficulty with the width if I am standing in them for too long. Also, the back heel is very rough, and gave me severe blisters until I added a padded heel liner which has helped a lot. Overall, great Frye quality and design.

The Frye boots are worth the money. So many boot companies claim to be great but are not made well. I will definitely be buying more Frye boots in the near future.

I bought this boot because I wanted a stylish boot with a low, flat heel for comfort and everyday casual wear with leggings, jeans and tights. Unfortunately, the boot has no style, the ankle area is too bulky and the back of the heel juts out and makes the boot look cheaply made. I am surprised that Frye actually let this one pass through the design team! I am returning them but will continue to look for the perfect casual, low heeled Frye boot (Frye are you listening?) The leather is nicely soft and the boot could have been a comfy one if the above problems didn't exist. The dark brown is a great everyday color.

A bit disappointed with Frye. I bought these because they wouldn't mark up the floor and found that the shaft was a bit short and tight. Less than a year later I feel like they are wearing out faster than they should. I buy Frye to last 5+ years. Sigh. They are comfortable and look good but they don't seem to be holding up as I thought they would.

These boots are very comfortable, and have just enough give for some thicker socks. I did order a 1/2 size above, following others' reviews. a perfect fit! ONE negative for me! only one. but kind of important for such an expensive boot. these have very little traction on the bottom. they are rubber but nearly smooth, and on any wet surface I'm nervous i'll wipe out, but great on a dry surface!

I'm not sure about these...I have many boots in my collection including other Frye's that I love. But these I think are missing the mark. The pros are: they look beautiful. The styling is excellent and the leather is soft and comfortable. My larger right foot fits well, but my slightly smaller left foot is a little loose in the boot. I am usually an 8.5 or 9 and I ordered 9s, so make of that what you will. The cons are: the boot is harder to put on than I thought it would be. It is a tight squeeze even for my medium-to-narrow feet, and I'm glad the zipper is there, or I wouldn't have been able to get them on at all. The biggest problem is the shaft. It is softer leather, so it doesn't stand up on its own, and it is too tight on my calves. I have never had that problem before, and I have pretty average to slightly large calves, so ladies with skinny calves, these might be for you! Since I could hardly pull the boots up to my calves, the leather in the ankle area is slouching and wrinkled. I did pull them up over leggings, but anything thicker (skinny jeans) are probably out of the picture. Another problem is the shaft itself isn't that tall, so if you want true knee-high boots, you might want to look elsewhere. If you like the slouchy style, these might work if you intentionally let them slouch. I'm really torn because these are really nice looking boots, but I don't know if I can justify the price for how often I'd be able to wear them.

These boots fit and I loved how they felt on my foot and the traction support on the sole, but I really didn't think the pebbled leather was worth the money so back they go.

Pretty, simple style, comfortable. I am 5'2" and the height was good. However they were way too wide in the calf so sadly they are going back.

I was really looking forward to receiving these boots. The leather was very soft and the shaft height was perfect for my petite stature of 5'3. However the ankle part was just too scrunchy for me. I will be sending these back and will continue to search for the perfect boot!

I loved these boots. I really did. They were exactly what I was looking for but sadly...way too snug for me in the calves. I have thicker calves, but I have no problems with my other Fryes (Melissa Button boot, the 12R Engineer, and the Dorados). I was worried the Jillians would be too narrow, and while I could get them on and up over my jeans, it was just barely - and wouldn't have been comfortable. Size wise, I think they felt perfect. A little higher in the arch / more mold-able than my 12Rs (which required days of stretching), definitely wider than the Dorados. They slipped on and zipped up really easily. Wish they made these in a wide calf version, but until then, my search will just continue.

I am a true size 7 in every shoe. This 7 was almost a half size too big. Additionally, the shaft is really wide, thought I may have ordered the wide calf boot. But I did not. Sad actually, the leather is quality!

I've never had a problem with the top portion of boots not fitting my legs, so this is a first. Returning them since they just won't work for me.

I agree with a previous reviewer. These boots are Meh. Not worth the price. Frye boots are very expensive because they are (supposedly) very well made with very high quality materials. These boots are very delicate, not much construction involved. Maybe the fact that they are made in China now (sadly) has something to do with quality issues? Who knows. I returned them. I have 10 other pair of Frye boots, and 4 pairs of flats. I generally like the brand, but these are not great. They are cute and I like the style in general, but not for this cost.

These boots look beautiful and are very flattering especially with dark jeans (I got mine in spice). However I was very disappointed to see that these Frye boots are made in China. My first pair of Frye boots was very well made in the USA, lined and they are still in great condition after 10 years. Unfortunately the craftsmanship and quality of my new Jillian pull-on are no where near that and I m not sure how long they ll last. The insides look cheap and flimsy. I wish Frye would go back to making boots the way they use to make them and not cut corners.

These have a narrow shaft, so great for smaller calves, which is why I originally bought them. Size was true for me. But I had to return because I got the black pair and they shed all over my light colored jeans and even stained my jeans a bit. Also, they weren't that comfortable with extended walking - the bottom is very thin and hard, and even though the leather is soft, there is a rigid part near the back that kept rubbing against my Achilles tendon area and caused an abrasion. They seemed comfortable when I just wore them to work, but not when I was out and about on my day off.

I go through boots every 2 years or so. So my thought was to buy one pair of really nice boots that will last me many years. Well, I was disappointed in a few things. 1. The boots are very light weight, the soles seem thin, and I can see myself wearing them out in 6 months. 2.Most people stated they are a 1/2 size too big. I bought a 1/2 size down and they are too small. 3. This is the most important to me. THESE BOOTS ARE MADE IN CHINA! I thought Frye Boots were made in America (at least that is what their website says). But, these clearly state otherwise. It is hard for me to fathom paying this much including tax for a "high quality" boot made in China.

Awful! The leather uppers are cheap! Not at all what I expected from a Frye boot. They are shorter than I expected and I'm only 5'3!
