I had 3 more of the same model. I wear them everyday, not for hiking. They are the most comfortable and lightweight pants I've ever had. Can't wear any other pants after these.

Excellent field pants that I also wear day to day. Pants are comfortable, repel most sticky seeds in the field, are cool yet protective. If wet, they dry remarkably quickly.

Last year was traveling on a long 54 country - 12 month trek round the world. Only a carry-on meant my wardrobe was minimalist; 7 shirts, 7 boxers, 3 pants, 3 shorts, and swimsuit. My pants/shorts were cargos another brand (and they were my last few pairs as they had switched to making skinny-pants (sigh). Love traveling with cargos cause the pockets can hold extra camera gear, sea glass, purchases, and snacks so my GF doesn't get hangry! I thought I had the perfect gear setup UNTIL I entered a sporting goods store in Panama. Came across a rack of Columbia pants and was amazed at how light they were (100% nylon). Once in the fitting room realized I might have just found the perfect pants. I have over three decades of picking out my own clothes - so know something about what quality, durability, and even luxury are. Seriously, these are so lightweight you'll think you're walking around buck-naked, they have plenty of pockets, a great fit (not grabby, nor too loose or dumpy looking). Best - they pass my 'girlfriend test' - when she said she "loved the way I look in them" - I went back and bought 3 more pair. I left the other cargos in the hotel room.. Another BIG benefit I discovered is how tight they pack down. I can fit (more than) 6 pair of Silver Ridge in the same footprint I could the 4 pair of the old cargos. (I roll my clothes). They also got the sizing right, the length in regards to waist ratio means the back of the pant-legs don't drag on the ground, The rest of the trip was fantastic, be it almost falling down a cliff in Honduras (after my iPhone and camera lens), to going out to nightclubs in Havana or Rio or Monaco - they do everything, go everywhere, and stand up to anything. Only suggestion would be to make the inner pockets stronger. The 'net' is lightweight, and so far haven't had any issues, but wonder how well they will stand up to keys and other objects long term? I plan to wear these pants as long as I walk the earth. Other ideas? Some camouflage or other colors might be cool. It rare to fall in love in this life, but I LOVE these pants!

Fit was true, 30x30. Really liked the quality. I use them for casual ware. This is my second pair. The first pair was still fine after 4yrs. But with weight loss I needed a new pair. Would definitely recommend

Husband was looking for lightweight pants to walk in for his daily exercise. These fit the bill. They fit well and are super lightweight.

Columbia runs small. My son normally wear 32 waist but had to size up to 34. The fabric is comfortable and lightweight and not too noisy.

Just what I was looking for. Light weight cargo pants with security picket for wallet. I just wish they had tan or brown in 36" waist, also.

I bought these pants for a trip to Zion National Park and they held up well on all of the trailheads. They're light, durable and, most important, they're comfortable. Won't be my last pair.

Very good for travel. Comfortable and easily wash and wear. Non metallic belt is convenient when passing thru airport security. Have 3 pair now.

I have another pair of these pants in a different color and they are great.

Light weight pants that are very good for every day wear

They fit me perfectly- just like the last pair that I bought from Columbia (still holding up well). All the pockets are useful during hikes.

For those who don't know, the Silver Ridge Cargo Pant is a Columbia classic. Comfortable and strong fabric, quick drying, true fitting, adequate pockets with styling restraint and a good colors selection at a good price. 'Nuff said!

Love these pants. So comfortable and packable. Oh yeah, great fishing pants, too.

I have not had a chance to wear these hiking, so I can't comment on rear pocket stitching quality. Overall, the pants are a very good fit and feel like they'll be comfortable to hike in. These and the convertible version I also bought will be going with me to Kilimanjaro later this year. The pockets are pretty roomy and I find the lower right cargo pocket convenient to hold a bottle of water. The material is extremely light weight and the pants are very packable.
