I've had two pairs of Elys. They have worked well for my job where I put them through the awful conditions. They are water proof and comfortable. Only complaint is that I like to fasten the boots tightly so they fit really snug. These boots I have a hard time doing that

Ely boots are very comfortable and fit great. They have a nice thick soft sole. Great for standing and walking on cement surfaces all day.

I have had mine for awhile but have not worn them hardly at all. The rubber on the soles have come loose. This boot is not made very well.

I think a little bit of pad or cushion could be added to the insole. Seems awfully firm. The heel "pocket" is looser than I have on other protective footwear. When I walk, that and the inability to pull the rear of the boot up around or back to my leg/ankle area contributes to it and that allows my heel to lift up off the sole.

My husband tried these out. He didn't like them. Not comfortable. Insert not ideal.

You really do get what you pay for. This is one of the cheapest steel toe options we had at our boot truck at work. Me being the always budget minded person that I am thought you couldn't go wrong with a red wings affiliated product. I wasn't completely wrong, but these are definitely about worth what the price is. They lasted me about 6 months under tough conditions, but were never overly comfortable, definitely enough to never consider this boot again with so many other options out there. Also, I have one weird complaint. Everyone I know that got this boot, and myself, had a problem of going through shoe laces on this model shoe like crazy for some reason. Something with the design of the rings the laces go through cut through the lace faster than it should be. These shoes ended up meeting there demise with a leak where the leather meets the sole. I can't really blame the company as I do work around a lot of water and occasionally chemicals that can really do some damage to leather. I can't really rate longevity because the conditions I use them in cause wear faster than usual. What I can review is that this shoe is utterly mediocre in every facet.

Felt loose both in width and size, the insoles it came with offered little to no support. The insoles felt like a solid piece of wood or plastic.

These boots are well made, but after wearing them for about 6 hours their heaviness started to make itself apparent. Granted I am use to wearing athletic type safety shoes, but these seemed very heavy.

I have owned Irish Setter boots before and they fit perfect. These were too small in the toe area. I would have sent them back but the wife took the boxes to the dump. I should have never bought them online.

I am 63 years old and have been buying work boots for 45 years. I am a construction worker and I must say that these boot when I purchased last week are the worst, uncomfortable boots I have ever worn. All 5 days my feet were sore. I was totally surprised how uncomfortable they were, because I have always purchased red-wing and Irish setter boots. I should have purchased the same Irish Setters that I bought last year, for they were amazingly comfortable the moment I put them on. Last night I bought Dr. Scholls inserts and I think that will help. I sincerely hope the inserts will help because I am stuck for the year.

I have always worn red-wing or a make made by them.

I've been wearing the same size boots for years all different brands and never once had a fitting problem. These boot are ridiculously huge like clown shoes - can't even wear them.
