I wear comfortably both Timberland PRO composite boots and athletic alloy toe shoes in size 9.5 W. I wanted so badly the Irish Setter Ashby 6" Aluminum-Toe work boot in size 9.5 EE Wide to fit the same as the Timberland PRO's. I really like the Ashby moccasin work boot look. Unfortunately, the pair I received was much more narrow with the same dickies thick cotton socks I use with the Timberland PRO's. I could feel the Ashby aluminum toe rub against the sides of my feet. The toebox in Ashby 9.5 EE Wide is very narrow compared to the spacious room given in the Timberland PRO's Lastly, I had tried and returned several brands of work safety shoes under the Amazon Zappos work discount program and was told I could no longer return any more shoes so i put the Ashbys on eBay to recoup the money to buy a Timberland PRO from a local Boot Barn. Zappos representatives indicated they are having a supply issue of men's popular sizes at the time of this review. Hope this review helps someone shopping for 9.5 Wide work safety shoes/boots.

The quality of this material seems good but the the steel toe is very narrow compared to my previous pairs of steel toe work boots. I've owned these for one month and I can no longer wear them due to the steel toe digging into my toes and foot/ankle soreness from compensating while walking. These were a disappointing and expensive purchase.
