These shoes are nice and comfortable, however, they're huge. I had to size down to a 10.5. I usually wear 13 in Nike and 11.5-12 in other shoes.

This review is in addition to my previous review. I hope that Sperry reads it as well. Real, original Sperry Topsiders, the standard that I compare all Sperrys to, was a moccasin, not a shoe. The difference is that a moccasin has the lacing section of the shoe positioned much farther forward. A shoe has the laces much further back. That means that the original Sperry Topsiders were more like a slip shoe on than it was a lace up shoe. This difference is important, depending on what you are looking for in a shoe. Remember that leather laces are difficult to tie, and to remain tied. The best way for a leather lace to remain tied is to get it wet, tie it, and then let it dry. In the old "moccasin" days of Sperrys, that how it worked. Tie'em once after a day on the boat, then just slip'em on and off forever; without having to untie and retie them each time. Today's Sperrys are built like shoes; with the laces set much farther back. An old Navy buddy of mine said that he didn't like Sperrys, because they were too hard to keep tied. That's true for the new "shoe" era of Sperry boat shoes. Having a big foot, I always liked the old version because, one, the "moccasin" style made my big foot look smaller; and two, I didn't have to untie them every time that I put them on. The current version of this Gold Cup is a shoe that is styled like a moccasin. You will have to untie and tie it every time that you put it on. The laces will not stay tied, because they are leather. You cannot do the get-it-wet and then leave-it-tied thing. You will have to retie it several times a day. Despite the above mentioned issues, these are very high quality, comfortable and stylish shoes. I bought a second pair. Note: to Sperry, don't just call it the original boat shoe; go back to the original style.

There are several styles that Sperry's call Gold Cup. I have purchased three pairs of "Gold Cups" over the past few years. The second one that I bought appeared to be the same style, but it had a pointier, squared toe. I should have sent them back. This model is styled more like the original TopSiders. The toe is rounded and the fit is very comfortable. I am ordering a second pair to save in case that Sperry stops making them.

I have been wearing these for years, in fact my fourth pair arrived just a few months ago. I have walked over 10 miles at one time and my legs or feet were not tired. They are so comfortable I'd rather wear these than sneakers when I get home from work. The shoes are well crafted and long lasting. They were not available for a few months and I bought the replacement with which I am not as happy. They are dressy enough for casual wear. Tried Allen Edmond boat shoe and sent them back. Not nearly as comfortable.

My husband loves Sperry Gold Cups and these were no exception. They fit true to size and are very comfortable. The look is mature and they are good for dressing casual or business casual. Another Sperry winner and bonus - they were on sale!!

This is the most comfortable boat shoe I have ever owned. The slightly taller sole design makes it feel more like a lace up shoe that a traditional boat shoe.

Wonderful shoes. No break-in period. The interior leather is very soft.And good support. Great choice and worth the extra money.

I'm a cruising sailor, and spend a lot of time in Sperry TopSiders. For dressier occasions I ordered this extra-cost Gold Cup. It's a fine shoe. To Zappos credit, I ordered the wrong size at first, and received the proper size pair even before my first order was returned to them. Excellent customer service!
