i got my first STS about 30 years ago. Oily leather boatshoes. Super! Sailed the Azores, yeomancup, Fastnet amongst other races.... The best shoe i ever come across. Bought in London.
Since two years this shoe. Looks shiny and bright, but its no good.
The sole comes of the top. The inner sticks to the bare foot.
Its a total misfit.
Please please make that old oilyleathered boot once more!
Yours truly

I ordered these shoes for my son and it has been less than six months and the sole is already coming apart at the toe. I plan to return them, he only wears them for church.

After just two weeks the heel on the right shoe was not glued properly and the bottom layer is peeling away from the heel. I have had many other Sperry boat shoes and never had a problem---funny--- the most expensive pair turned out to be the poorest quality.

The first pair I bought was fantastic. I ran right out and bought a second pair to rotate. Loved them both!
I got about two years out of them that way. Lots of salt water and they still looked good at the club, etc...
They lasted and fit well. I was willing to go again.
I bought a third pair. Big Mistake.
The third pair tore apart on the front left outer sole in less that two months. Then holes wore in the inside around the ball of my foot and at the heel.
I am looking for anything that looks as nice but wears better at this point.
Thumbs down on the quality.

On repeated purchases, the brass eyelets fall out and are irreplaceable. The quality of these shoes over 20 years has cheapened.

The size is not correct. I have always ordered size 10 and these size 10's do not fit

Quality/design issues - seems like it's not the quality Sperry Gold was known for. The issues: Footbed is in 2 parts that split close to the arch area with a different height and space that can be felt even with the insert pad. It's like a bar under your foot. This is the 2nd of the same model that have this issue but even between these pairs, there's a difference in the space and height of this issue. So bad quality and no consistency and then a thin insert pad compounds the discomfort. Both are being returned and I'm thankful for Zappos easy returns and great customer support when I called them.

I paid for new shoes, I received used shoes with noticeable wear on the soles. The exchange process would have had me send the shoes back and then WAIT 20 DAYS to get a replacement pair. No thank you. I'm done with Sperry.

Great shoe however it has tie by hand shoe laces while the picture shows the other style with crossed permanently tied laces which is the type I like.

Shoes don't fit well and hurt when walking. Top of hero is too high and cuts into Achilles tendon.

The rawhide lace broke the second time I wore the shoes. I hope something can be done about this. I've had great luck with other Sperry Gold Cups before. Those Gold Cups rated five stars for comfort, durability and looks. Unfortunately those slip-ons aren't offered any more. Please let me know how this problem can be resolved. Thanks Wm Spoerri

The shoe showed up with a lace that when pulled broke. The lace was glued to the shoes that resulted in them breaking when tightened. For over 50 years I have been wearing them but alas no more.

This shoe is a pale imitation of the shoe that was made in America. It has no style and little arch support. I'm returning them.

I owned many different Sperry gold cup boat shoes. This particular shoe is made very poorly with very low quality materials. The shoe was obviously made with cheap materials using different manufacturing processes than Sperry usually uses. Very odd. This shoe is horrible. I will be throwing mine in the trash.

This shoe is anew model. Not the quality of the one last year. I bought two pairs last year and have worn them every day. Best shoes I’ve owned. Ordered this one and they made a lot of changes. Leather not as soft. Heel cushion missing. Sides higher touching my heel. Sole harder.
Sent them back. Trying to find older model.

Delivery time was as promised. Style was correct and Size was correct for both shoes. Problem: Two right foot shoes. I only have one right foot. I returned the shoes. I couldn't find any place on line to make a comment except this venue.

There are a ton of great reviews for these shoes. I would have written a five star review too, if I had done so soon after buying. Let me tell you - these will not last a year, and the heavy price tag compels me to write a one star review. Within six months of wearing them about four days per week to work, the inner liner started to tear and basically disintegrate at the heel area. The deer skin lining is super luxurious and comfortable and soft, but it simply will not last. Additionally, the sole started to separate from the shoe at the toes. I did wear these with Merino wool socks. Maybe if I had only gone barefoot the wear would have been mitigated. But still - come on. These are the best looking and most comfortable Sperry shoes that I have ever worn. If they had lasted a little longer, I would buy another pair.

Have owned these 4 pairs of these the most recent for less than 6 months. They are comfy and I loved them but they fall apart so fast! The lining in the heel breaks apart and plastic that is supposed to be on the inside falls apart and cuts your heels up (lots of blood). They are expensive shoes, that should not fall apart so fast! Sperrys told me to mail them to them at my expense and offered little help. Used to love Sperry, but I advise you to rethink this decision!

Bought in 2011. These are only worn in the city during summer - light duty no salt water. The insoles are loose and come out when Taking off shoes. The outside rubber on the bottomof the heel is loose and flapping. The trim on the front of the shoe is disintegrating.

I wanted to "upgrade" my well worn Topsiders.
Got these as a Christmas gift from my daughter.
I am sorry to say that they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn!
They are extremely stiff and a hard sole that the "special" liner doesn't even start to make comfortable for all day wearing. The liner also makes my feet uncomfortably warm.
I added several layers of sole inserts (Double Thick, Gels, etc.) to soften the feel, but they had no affect.
Very disappointed that my daughter spent this much for such a uncomfortable shoe. I simply can't wear them.
