I am so sad to send these back as they are well-made and stylish for work and walking the dog. Unlike others, I found the mouth and upper calf of the boot too narrow, making it nearly impossible to get the boots on and off comfortably...with or without socks. Once in the boot, however, the foot bed was comfy and true to size (I am an 8 and purchased an 8), but just a touch on the narrow side if you have a wider toebox (as I do). The olive color was nice and would go with nearly everything across four seasons. I may try one of Le Chameau's shorter styles to see if they are a better fit in the calf.

I am a girl with athletic calves: size 16.5" to be exact. I ordered a size 9 in these boots (my normal size ranges between 9 and 9.5, depending on the shoe) and the only way to get my legs in was if they were BARE-- and then I could barely get them off. Not a good choice for any sort of athletic calves; even if my calves were two inches smaller, there wouldn't be room for jeans to fit inside. The foot bed felt comfy enough; but I wouldn't venture to say a thick wool sock could be accommodated. As far as style goes, these are a gardening boot at best. The matte finish make these boots look schlubby and they were dusty out of the box.

I have owned a pair of Barbour Wellingtons that finally needed to be let to rest after 30 years. Unfortunately Zappos does not carry this UK brand so I ordered these with my store credit. The inner lining of the Le Chameu is wonderful and helps against you feet getting cold which is very easy to occur in wellies, however I was very let down with the faux buckle/side strap. I feel it really cheapens the boots along with the rubber it is made with. That is not something I would expect with cost of this. I returned them.

I ordered a size 9 which fit very well. However, the top opening of the boot was extremely narrow and tight around my calf, and I do not have big calves. Unfortunately, I am returning the boots; I had high hopes.
