I wanted a pair of slouchy, pull-on, low-heeled, black boots. These are interesting in that they're reasonably comfortable, well-made, and fit well, but some of the design elements are a little odd. In the pictures it's not super obvious that the buckles are just really loose and flop all over. You can't cinch the buckle without losing the pull-on feature. And, at least for me, I can't tighten the buckle without needing to puncture new holes. I like it- it reminds me a bit of the 90s look of wearing suspenders hanging down instead of over your shoulders- but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. They're a little narrow in the toes, which is surprising for someone who wears a 5.5 and I'll probably put a cushioning insole in, but so far they've held up nicely on strolls. The buckles across the toes are functional so you can adjust there, which is great.

Love the style. Purchased them in black. I am a size 11 in most shoes, but decided to order these in a 10. Fits a bit snug, but I am going to order my next pair a size bigger.

I got these boots right at the end of the season and I loved them when I first got them! You would think that since the buckles are loose and the tough is flappy that they would just fall apart, but they didn't one bit! I purchased the lightest color which I thought was like a white but it was more of a gray, and I don't wear a lot of gray so it was sometimes hard for me to find an outfit to wear them with but I overall like them a lot!

Despite multiple reviews that recommended getting a full size up, I found it to be way too large. Am exchanging to try my actual size.

These are comfortable boots, true to size, but a little more sloppy looking when wearing than I thought they would be. I've already worn them so am not able to return them.

Cool looking boot with soft leather and a sturdy foot bed. Overall fits larger than usual especially since there are no zippers and the straps are quite loose. It does help to punch in extra holes and shorten the strap length for a more secure feel, yet, the design allows the boot to be folded and convertible to more of an ankle length vs. mid-calf. I'm surprised at the comfort level of this shoe. I haven't needed to put in an extra insole or padding and have been able to stand and walk in them for my 6-8hr workdays. I usually wear a 7.5, but the 7 fits more comfortably. Unusual, since I normally have to size up in Steve Madden's.

Beautiful boot, terrible sizing. I got a size ten but felt like a 7. I couldn't even get my foot past the ankle.

Fit was great. I love all of my Steve Madden shoes. My only complaint with this one is that the shoes I received DID NOT have the worn heel or sole. It’s black like the rest of the boot. A problem that should be fixed as the video on this boot with this color shows a worn heel and even stresses that being a favorite quality. I’m disappointed with that but not enough to go through the return process. I’ll eventually wear them until they’re for real worn. Also, as someone with a calf that’s bigger than their forearm, it can be difficult to find cute boots that don’t look suffocating. These are nice and loose and slouchy in the shaft which makes for a comfortable fit as well as a fun look.

Steve Madden boots - 5 stars for style / 2 stars for walking comfort - awesome with leggings or skinny jeans & slouchy socks. I sometimes wear them up, sometimes fold the whole boot over (not how you are supposed to wear them but looks cool). Disappointed for walking comfort. They seemed comfortable at first, but after walking some distance I discovered the heel is too wide and the strappy design is positioned wrong to strap tightly & keep heel in place. The sole is very stiff and made from a vintage-type last, so the toes point upward. Walking any distance my heel sloshes around and I get a toe cramp! Hopefully I can find some kind of heel pad or something because the whole point of buying flats is walking in them.

I read all the views and couldn't decide whether to order my true size or go up a half size since the other reviews were about 50/50 as to whether these shoes ran small or true to size. I ended up ordering my true size based on how other Steve Madden boots have fit me. Alas, they just arrived today, and even though my feet are on the normal to thin side, these boots were just too tight across the top of the foot and the sides. I think 1/2 size up would be prefect. So sad to have to send them back because they are cute.

I just got these in the mail, and I am pretty disappointed. I have only once paid this much for a pair of shoes, and those were handmade leather sandals. I have liked Steve Madden shoes in the past, and expected them to be high quality, but these appear cheaply made. They are extremely flimsy -- the leather is thin, with no liner, and the edges are all raw. I would not expect them to hold up for many years, like a good leather shoe should. Definitely not worth the price. Unfortunate, because they look so cute in the picture.

Bought these to replace my old Madden Girl Raszcal boots. Basing my sizing off the Raszcal boots, I bought my usual size of 7.5 and these were quite snug; they were narrower and shorter if comparing to the aforementioned comparison boot. The most disappointing thing about the Banddit boots was the lack of any sort of inner lining. They are unfinished leather inside - not smooth like in many typical leather boots. This was a deal breaker for me. If there was a lining or finished inside, I would have tried a larger size, but the discomfort and difficulty getting the boot on with that rough interior was just not worth it.

Love the style and the feel of the boot. Moderate/pretty good arch support. The major problem I had with it is the sizing. Not true to size at all in my opinion. I read the reviews carefully - they ranged from pretty true to size or that they ran slightly bigger than expected. Based on this, I was confident when ordering my usual size (7.5). I have had many Steve Madden shoes in the past, and I always have been a 7.5 However, when the 7.5 arrived, they were SO INSANELY SMALL. They truly felt like 6 1/2s! I could barely get my foot in. I have very skinny/narrow feet. I am a plus size woman, but for some reason, my feet and hands have always been boney and very narrow. I'm telling you, I could not get my feet in the 7.5s! So I exchanged them for 8.5 and they are PERFECT. I don't know why the sizing is so off. I've never owned a pair of 8.5s in my life, but now I know that for Steve Madden moto boots, I guess I'm an entire size larger! Beware...seem to run small!

These were awful! In quality and style! I believe the hype is with the name, and not for what is being sold here. These are simple boots, with a Madden name. You can purchase a much higher quality, flattering boot anywhere. These went back!

These shoes were about a full size larger than labeled. These are definitely not for someone with skinny ankles or calves. I had to remove about 7" of the leather strap in order for them to fit correctly. Not happy with that, but love the look so I couldn't bear to send them back.

Boot cut too narrow, I ordered the boot an half size larger but couldn't get my foot completely in the boot

would recommend sizing up 1/2-1 size so you can easily slip them off and on rather than unbuckle each time

The leather is a little thin, but these boots were very comfortable right out of the box--thanks to the adjustable buckle design. I do think I will get lots of wear out of them, but I don't expect them to last more than a couple of seasons. Zappos customer service was excellent, as the first pair I ordered got lost in the mail. Right away, they sent me out a replacement pair to make sure I received my order. These boots were my first purchase from Zappos, but I have been impressed with their service for sure!

I bought a pair of these years ago in brown (so they last a long time) but I had a need for a solid black pair of boots and these were on sale to my pleasant surprise. The leather is gorgeous and the style is super cute and different. True to size.

The leather is pebbled, which can’t be seen online. Great style and comfortable out the box.

These are really nice boots! The leather is good, they are comfortable, and fairly light-weight for the type of boot that they are. They are especially good if you have narrow feet, as I do. The strap across the top of the foot is adjustable and the strap that wraps around the ankle & calf is adjustable too. In the past my experience with Steve Madden shoes has been hit and miss. But these particular boots are quite well made and comparable to brands that are typically higher quality and more expensive. My only complaint is that they were not available in brown.

This boot is soooo comfortable I would highly recommend! The leather is soft and they are a great quality boot!

Perfect boots. I wear a 8.5 in Frye boots and a 9 for any running shoes. These were perfect in 8.5. One other reviewer said the same which is what led me to follow suit. The style is amazing and they go with everything.
