I started college last year with a regular backpack, not even a laptop backpack. By December I started having problems breathing and turns out I have CHF (congestive heart failure, it's not a heart attack). I needed a laptop backpack and decided to get a rolling backpack. After searching the price and features of rolling backpacks this is the one I decided to buy. My only complaint is that sometimes the handle will get stuck on the frame, making it difficult to extend and/or put down. I extend and put the handle down a lot, as I transport it in my vehicle, so it can be a problem when it happens. Note that this doesn't happen very often.

Just got it. In two minds whether to keep it or not. I travel a lot and have two medium sized suitcases. In addition to two check-in items, I have either a dash carry on or Burton backpack with all camera and other accessories. I was hoping that this piece of luggage would merge the two carry ons.I like what this bag offers, but when I pack it and carry it as a backpack, it is uncomfortable as there's no waist harness :( for support or balance- it feels like falling over. And I have only tested it by packing cameras and notebook. If they add a waist harness as there's one on the Eagle Creek Adventure Wheeled Backpack 22", without the super high price, it would be a perfect item. I would think over it for another couple of days, and then decide whether to keep it or return.
I'd also recommend:
Burton, United Colors of Benetton, Eagle Creek

Very nice but I was expecting the model with detachable bag pack. I had one in the past. Picture is a bit deceiving.

good bag decent seams, the wheels bare watching, would prefer an inline skate wheel for durability. As for the front top pocket, DON't care for the zipper....ON THE BOTTOM. upon opening, anything within is discharged when opened.

My son just opened this for Christmas, and one of the zipper ends came off in his hand while zipping it up.

This is my third High Sierra Wheeled Backpack. The first two had zipper failures and High Sierra doesn't honor its warranty even though the backpack was within warranty.
For this particular version, the small front compartment design is rather useless. Unfortunately the Endeavor Wheeled Laptop Backpack model is no longer available.
I am going to see if a shoe repair shop can replace the zipper.
I don't use this as a backpack, but it is convenient to use with air travel.
I couldn't find a comparable from a different company.
I am not sure why High Sierra uses such cheap zippers?

my son had a High Sierra backpack before and the material is very thick and sturdy.
This wheeled backpack has a thinner material, and the handle is not so sturdy.
I am afraid the handle will be teared off soon because my son have many books inside to carry on/off vehicle, and to walk up/down lot of stairs in his school.

I use the rolling backpack to carry my stuff to work every day. I needed the relief from the weight of my over the shoulder backpack. I wish it had more space and another front pocket. I guess it's a compromise given the space needed for the mechanism. It is heavy to carry to the car and up steps, but a joy to walk across campus without the weight on my back.

I liked the style very much but the bag is heavy even when empty and I need to return it.

I got it for nursing school. everyone said that it's great so I tried it. It didn't fit all my books like it's supposed to. it does, but it feels like it'll break the seams. not very spacy. Wouldn't buy again honestly. but it'll be good when I fly on a plane this summer!

They have changed the straps on the back so that the zipper cover must stay open when used as a backpack?? Made no sense to me. I returned it... and haven't heard back about my return that has been delivered to them successfully over a week ago. Wish me luck.

We returned this backpack because the carrying option isn't practical at all. To use the straps there is a flap that has to be unzipped and then tucked underneath the bottom of the bag. It felt more like an either/or use. Either carry it or roll it but not practical if you need to transition between the two to go up stairs, etc. We loved the size and it's a large capacity but the design is not well done and too much of a nuisance especially for a middle schooler.

While i really like the features and style, I was very disappointed in the quality and/or durability of the Powerglide Wheeled Backpack. I have a non-wheeled High Sierra backpack that I've had for more than 10 years. That backpack has carried some quite heavy loads on airline and other trips, stuffed under seats, in trunks, etc. It has proven to be a terrific backpack, with features and durability equal to or better than others two or three times its price. By contrast, the wheeled version saw very little use and absolutely NO abuse. It was only used to / from a local client's offices to save my aging back. To my surprise, though a bit larger, the wheeled version's main compartment zipper pulled apart after a very short time. It finally failed completely at just about the one year period. Again, this backpack was never heavily loaded or mistreated. Since i was outside Zappos return policy, they would not accept a return. Initially, I encountered a great deal of frustration dealing with the manufacturer. Most everything on their website points you towards sending or delivering it to an authorized service center for possible repair. The fine print warns you that if they determine it can't be repaired, you're pretty much out of luck. Additionally, when I did some research on the reliability of the service centers, I found that many customers were not very happy with their results there either. I decided that I was probably out of options, but decided to email Samsonite, the parent company, and inform them of my severe disappointment. To my surprise, they contacted me and worked with us to confirm my claims and have since replaced the backpack with a new one. While I'm very happy that both High Sierra and Zappos have stepped up and done the right thing, and while I like the basic design and features of this product, I believe the design is flawed. Compared to my over the shoulder backpack, the wheeled version main compartment zipper is half the size and plastic. I think this is probably a choice based on reducing the cost of manufacturing, but the outstanding durability I'd come to expect from their products was lacking in this product. I'll see how the new one holds up, but i'd advise you that if you start to see ANY issues, return it within the first year. I will probably be a bit skeptical about purchasing High Sierra products in the future.

I should have gotten the bigger wheeled backpack. More space and more sturdy. The top front zipped pocket (with emblem) is to too flat or small to store a S10 phone in the front.

The rolling backpack was delivered on July 18, 2023. Used it for the first time on 7/25/2023. It is already coming apart. I have pictures. Please recent another rolling backpack with shipping label to return the defective bag. Thank you

unfortunatelly I did not like it since it is extremely big, to be just a backpack. It looks like a hand luggage with straps.

I would give it Zero stars if I could. I received my purchase today, High Sierra Powerglide Wheeled Backpack. After unpacking the item and testing, the right wheel does not turn!!!!! And it is a brand new purchase. The wheels are also scuffed, like I have been sent a return/refurbish instead of new product. I called customer service and was transferred 3 times. They basically said, it stinks to be you - you will have to go through the warranty process, send pics and videos proving it is defective. I just got it today and they know this by the shipping logs!!!!!!!!! I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. So, the product is horrible as is the customer service. I will return this bag, go on my trip without the luggage I need, and never buying from High Sierra ever again.

I ordered it and it was not shipped as promised. Too late for my trip but they have promised a $40 credit when I reorder since it was their error. I will let you know if this does not happen. I am sure the product is fine as is the usual customer service with Zappos. It is the first time they have let me down.I actually could have ordered prime with amazon but chose Zappos because they are reliably fast (usually :(.
