I love these boots. The leather is supple and the color a rich shade of brown: not too yellow, not too red. I have small feet and short legs, and these are almost perfect. On me, they crinkle a bit around the ankle, but that's because I'm short. They wouldn't do that on a person just a couple of inches taller. I love the buckle details.

I love this boot. I got the dark taupe/dark taupe leather and the actual color is not like the pictures - it's better! It's not as orange looking, but more subdued and classic looking. I am normally a 7.5, but ordered a 7 after reading other reviews. I'm glad I did - they fit great and even have a little room in the toe. They do feel narrow, which is fine for me because I have a normal/narrow foot. I have thin calves and the boot gives a little less than an inch of space (after wearing boot height socks and leggings.) I'm glad it's not drowning my calf, but if you have muscular calves, it may be too narrow. The leather is great quality and I've gotten many compliments already.

Love these boots. Purchased a half size smaller than usual as I knew they ran larger. Most comfortable boots I have. Get lots of great comments on the look too.

I agree with other reviewers who recommended ordering a half size down. I'm usually a 7, but I ordered a dark brown pair in 6.5, and I love them. (Although they felt a little narrow when I first tried them on, they were fine after breaking them in a little.) I live in Boston and I walk everywhere, and these have been very comfortable. They're also gorgeous and can easily be dressed up or down. Personally, I think these boots are very impressive for the price. I highly recommend them!

I ordered four pairs of high black leather riding boots from Zappos. I opened this box first, fell in love, and wondered if I should even look at the other 3 pairs! Comparing them to the other 3 comparably priced pairs, these had much higher quality leather, and the heel was slightly higher, which makes the proportions perfect for me. I have athletic calves, but not huge, and these zipped up perfectly over my skinny jeans. They probably run a little big - I normally wear an 8 1/2, which I ordered, but I am a 9 in some shoes. Buy them, you won't regret it!

Love the boots. Received them within 2 days of my order, put them on my feet and immediately knew they would be my new favorites. Went to Oregon coast recently and they were exactly what I needed for the damp weather. I was able to tuck my jeans in and have plenty of room - I even hiked down to a secret surf spot in them. No problems. Glad I got them and Zappos was wonderful in getting them to me so quickly.

These boots are really cute, but the calf is very wide. Very nice quality for the price.

These are great boots. They're stylish and comfortable; I'll be wearing them a LOT!

I love these boots. They have a little give in the shaft for comfort. They look great, and they aren't uncomfortable like some. I was able to add a little gel insert to make them even more comfortable. I normally wear an 8, and I got an 8, but I still had a smidge of room for the insert.

These 7.5M fit over my 15" calf very easily wearing thin skinny jeans (not jeggings). The leather is stiffer (but not unbending), shiny, and high quality. 2 girlfriends agreed this style was super cute. The problem is that the ankle is too wide. The material around the front of the ankle extends too far out over the top of the foot. Another reviewer referred to them as cankles, which is a spot on description. The other problem is that my calf slopes outward at the "thickest" part, which causes the entire shaft of the boot to slant outwards, all the way up to the top of the boot where it sticks out awkwardly from my calf. Between this awkward jutting out at the top and the cankles, I just can't justify keeping these no matter how cute they are.

Following the other reviewers suggestions, I purchased down half a size on these, and they fit my feet well (although if you want to wear thick winter socks with them, I would just purchase your regular size). I have a slightly wider calf (almost 16 in), so they fit a bit more snugly on me, but still fit comfortably enough, and hit right below the knee on me (I'm 5'6). My only real problem with these boots is the ankle - it's so large! It wrinkles up every time I wear them, making them look very odd. Would probably look better on someone with less curvy legs.

These serve the purpose and are very nice for the price. They're plenty wide for my quite wide calves. Great with skirts, leggings, or skinny jeans. I wish the leather were more luxurious-feeling, but really the quality seems decent, esp for the price.

I ordered the cognac leather in half a size smaller based on the reviews. I am normally a size 9. I got them in the mail today and I love them. But they are a little tight in the foot area. They fit perfect in calf area. I want to return them and get a size 9 but the cognac leather color is sold out. I will have to try them on and walk around for a bit and decide. Otherwise I will have to return them and get the dark brown. I love this color though! I wish they still had it in stock.

This boot did not look sleek on my feet. It was too roomy around the ankles, and might be a better fit for women with bigger calves. I am a perfect 9.5 but it was too big.

A long time ago Bandolinos were a perfect fit for my narrow feet. These were quite wide and even when I placed an arch support insert inside, my heel still slipped. The boots are stylish, though the ankle is a bit baggy, and I was disappointed the next half size down was not in stock. I am a Euro 39 and take an 8 or 8½ depending on the make - in these, the 8½ was too big. The arch support also was not very good.

I love these boots! I get so many complements on them. Based on the wear they have already gotten, I doubt they will look nice and new for long. Hopefully they'll look just as good when worn out.

Very pretty boots, nice leather, and the buckles give just enough details. They do run a bit big, but I like to wear a pair of warm socks with boots, so that works well for me. The first time I wore them, a little metal grommet came unscrewed from one of the buckles- thankfully it didn't fall off, and I was able to screw it back on. I'm hoping it stays put now.

Nice looking boot, it feels true to size, but for the price I feel that the overall boot falls short, the leather does not look real, the decorative straps on the ankle came unscrewed the first day I wore these boots. I have a feeling that they are not going to stand the test of time, they don't seem well constructed.

I had to order three different pairs, but I Love them and Zappos made it easy to return. First...a snap broke... Second...sole insert was wrinkled... Haven't worn the third pair but I have three pairs of Bandolino boots and I teach school...comfy all day.

I have a large calf but a small ankle. I bought these boots because the description listed a 16" shaft circumference. I have a 15" calf, and I while I could zip it up, it was tight. I will not be able to wear them over jeans. As in all boots, the ankle was bunchy on me. I normally wear a 7, but the boot is too big. I probably should have gotten a 6 1/2. It is a beautiful boot.

These boots are mislabeled. The description says they are for wide calf, 16 inch circumference. This is not true. I ordered them, size 7, my calf is 15.5 in circumference. I could not zip them up over my calf. I then measured them and found out the circumference is only 14 inch. Do not buy these if you have a wide calf.

Perhaps I received a completely defective pair, but after a mere 2 months of fairly light city wear/tear, these boots have completely fallen apart. It started with the cross decoration, then it moved on to the top circle decoration and now it has hit the zippers. Given how expensive they were, I thought they would have been of better quality but clearly they are not.
