Numerical size is accurate but I found the width to be way off. Definitely narrower than a standard wide shoe. I wouldn't recommend to anyone with a wider foot.

The Sam Edelman Petty boots were very cute! BUT they were not comfortable at all. They have little to no padding and absolutely no support. I tried 2 different sizes and neither worked like I wished they had. After trying out a few other boots, I've bought the Blondo boots. They're very similar in style, but offer support and comfort as well. Definitely would recommend Blondo over these Sam Edelman boots!

Sides hit and rub on ankle bone, going back.

Very hard soles, uncomfortable.

Disappointed in these boots. Bought the navy. Had a spot on each heal that was faded and appeared worn. The boots looked tried on too many times. Packaging indicated missing stuffing. Slipped a lot in the back of my heel. And rubbed my ankle when I walked. Sent them back.

These are wildly uncomfortable - soles are super hard and the cut of shoe just doesn't work for my feet. I googled it just to be able to explain in this review, and learned that I have what is called an "Egyptian" foot type where the big toe is the longest and each toe is progressively shorter. This shoe I think would work better for people whose second & third toes are longer than the big toe. I liked the style but live in New York where we really walk so comfort is key. Sent these back.

Unfortunately in person these are as they look online. Meaning, they do look like men's shoes & they are gappy/loose looking on the inside arch.

Maybe if you have a small foot this style would work. The 8.5 looked so huge on me because of the pointy toe. Plus, I have small ankles and the gap around them from this shoe looked ridiculous.

I wasn't happy with these boots. When I took them out of the box one had a stain on it and the tops were wrinkled. The right boot is way too baggy on the top, has wrinkles, and is noticeably bigger than the left. I am surprised at all of the great reviews because in my opinion, they look like very poor quality. I will be sending them back.

wide width shoe wearers beware-the boots are so narrow, that i'm surprised that the company would even market them as wide width. these are nice boots and could be very versatile if you have a medium width foot.

I thought these would look so cool from the picture online, but when I put them on they looked a shapeless. They were also very uncomfortable as there was very little padding inside. Basically, it felt and looked like it was cheaply made.

Attractive but stiff and tight on my size 9 foot. I bought a pair of Pikolinos in the same order and these were so uncomfortable after trying on the dreamy Pikolinos. I'm sending these back.

I actually love these boots BUT this is the second pair that I have received where the black leather on the heel is weird and wrinkled. The first pair I ordered were 8 1/2 and the leather was perfect but they were just too large. I then ordered an 8 of which the size was perfect but on the right boot only the leather looked odd on one of the heels. Same thing happened on the second pair of 8's. I'm going to give it one more try because I really do like these boots. It's just odd that both pairs of size 8 had one good boot and one bad. I'm really not being that picky, I just want both boots to have the same quality leather. For the price of these they shouldn't look like that. I hope the 3rd pair of size 8 Is perfect. I really want to keep them!

Let me start off by saying that I have 3 pairs of SE Mackay boots. I am usually a 9N but in the Mackay the 8.5M fits fine. I find that SE runs narrow which is great for me as I have a narrow foot. Also the leather in the Mackay is butter soft. Not so in the Petty. (Guess I should have understood that from the picture since they sit up nice and straight). Anyway, I had to send them back because I found them incredibly uncomfortable. They are adorable booties and would have filled a gap in my shoe wardrobe, but alas, not this time.

I love Edelmans normally but these were disappointing. For one, the fit was weird. One felt much bigger than the other and the heel box was way too big/out of porportion with the shoe. I tried them on with several different kinds of socks and it didn't help. The brown looks way more rich in the online photos than in person -- I thought it looked kind of dim and cheap, like the brown of synthetic leather. They went back and I just opted for some Born's, hoping for more.

Usually Sam Edelman run narrow so I would not have ordered these, but I saw that these came in wide widths and other reviewers said they were super comfortable. Wrong! These booties were uncomfortable and look cheap (in the black leather). The top of the shoe presses on the top of my foot because I have a high instep, which I thought the wide width would have taken care of. If you really like this bootie, try the suede (maybe they look better) and go up a size so you can put in a comfortable insole. These are going back and the search for the perfect black bootie continues...

Initially appeared well made. However, shoe fell apart when I wore them when it rained. Heel fell completely apart. I did not expect this shoddy of a shoe for the price paid.

Stylish but not very comfortable. If you have a high arch, you will find these tight across the top of the foot. One of the boots was longer than the other but marked same size. I wish I had sent these back, but wore them outside the house. They do run true to length (at least the left one does) but they are quite narrow for mediums. They make a weird squishy noise when walking on vinyl floors. I am very disappointed.

I loved the look of these shoes online but not so much in person. The heel felt very wide and the toe box felt narrow so I got a lot of heel slip. I could probably make them work with an insert but when I buy a shoe, I like it to fit perfectly without modification. The style was very plain, which I usually prefer, but some reason I was just never excited about wearing these. Kept them for a couple of weeks and never felt right in them. Returned - still on the hunt to find something comfortable and attractive.

This shoe is gorgeous. The heel is darker that pictures. Shoe is too narrow. I am a true 7M but am returning them to try a Wide or 7 1/2 for a better fit.

Out of the box these shoes are really nice, But when I tried them on, they had a large gap around the ankle that made the shoes look too large for my feet despite the fact that they fit my foot. They just didn't look right on my petite frame and I had to return.

The sizing is too long and narrow for my foot.The wide spots do not coincide with mine.The quality of leather does not seem very good.

I tried these with the American Munro Austin and Munro won out. These are a little on the stiff side. I have these in the suede and they are more soft and comfortable.

These are good booties but I guess I expected to love them out of the box. They are just okay. Going back.

These boots were exactly the style and heel height I was looking for. I own the Sam Edelman Louis boots in the same size and these were significantly tighter across the toes than the other pair. The soles are cheaply made and smashed on the sides near the heel area. There was zero cushioning in the soles too. Bummer, had to send them back!
