These boots have a more urban/worn-in appearance compared to other leather boots that are more structured and have a shiny patina to them. They are very comfortable to wear. I have narrow calves, and even with the tightest setting on the boot buckles, they are still a little loose. However, they are still the best fit I could find after trying many different styles. The soles are a bit thin, so I'm unsure how well they will hold up after a few rainy seasons. But, I'm sure a good cobbler can keep these in good condition.

These boots are the answer to my months-long search for casual tan boots that are narrow enough to fit my small calves. The Brandy shade a lovely, versatile color that is a bit lighter and less red than it appears on screen. The leather quality and craftmanship are both very nice. The boots do seem to run a bit large (maybe not quite half a size, but close), but that doesn't bother me as it leaves room for a gel insole or thick socks.

I have been wearing these for 45 minutes and have already gotten 2 compliments! So, I decided to write a review immediately. I have muscular calves (16.5 ?) that generally do not fit into boots which aren't extra-wide. The functional buckles on these boots are a brilliant stroke of design skinny calves? No problem, tighten the buckles. Wide calves loosen. I am wearing them with tights and the foot, especially the ankle, is a little roomy. These boots are really nice! Super comfortable. The leather is of high quality and the buckles are sturdy and good looking. I ordered my usual size and they fit great.

Slouchy leather - a nice casual boot for those with wide calves. The adjustable side buckles were perfect for my legs since one calf is .25 inches larger than the other. Arch support is moderate. The sole is quite stiff, so I will probably add inserts for comfort. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.

These boots rock! I usually wear a 10 and these fit perfectly. I would say I wear a 10 that runs large. Great looking to wear with jeans, leggings or skirts. The wedge heel is perfect even for me to wear all day at work.

Calf circumference too small even though the description claimed 16 1/2". I tried on boots with a 15" circumference that fit better than these. Very nice boots, they just don't fit a large calf.

The boot is comfortable but very roomy, I could probably go a size down from what I normally wear. I would have made them work if the sole didn't start peeling off of one of them after about 2 days, needless to say, I'm returning them.

These boots are really beautiful - I bought the Brandy color and love it. They definitely seem to run big though. Most of my shoes are a size 11, and I was absolutely swimming in the size 11 in this boot. I ordered the 10 - they fit and I will keep them, but there is still too much room in the ankle and heel and I will need to wear thick socks or get something to put in the heel. I bought these to wear over jeans and the size of the calf will be just right for this.

Great style, wonderful dark wine color...just seem a little larger than the typical size 9. I'm keeping them but I'll just wear thick socks.

Love these boots! Very cool - and comfortable! Great for tucking in jeans, leggings or wearing with skirt/dresses. Very well made - and fit is perfect!

Love these boots, they are very comfortable, and stylish. They really go with everything in my closet. I wear a lot of skirts and dresses, so the neutral color is perfect. The only drawback is that I like to cross my legs when I am sitting a lot, and the buckles make dents in my leg skin. So, I unzip them down halfway when I am sitting cross legged for a movie or something or a long dinner. The wedge is a comfortable height and size, I wore them all over Manhattan a week ago with no swelling or blisters. I even wore them in the rain and they still look new! I opted to get them a half a size larger, in case of thick socks or anything, and there is plenty of wiggle room. So, I would say they are true to size. I will probably wear them all fall and winter with every outfit for several seasons!

This is my second pair of Franco Sarto boots and I am very happy once again. They are really great quality and look great.

These are gorgeous boots! They are very well made and very comfortable! They go great with leggings, jeans, or a long skirt. I have 14" calves, and had to set the buckles to the smallest setting (with leggings tucked in, the next smallest). I ordered a 9½, which is my true size. The only thing I wish for is a slightly higher wedge heel, as these do not boost my height as much as I had hoped. But I am being overly fussy. These boots will definitely be my go to boot for the fall/winter season. One other thing, I added insoles (plenty of room for them) since there is no arch support.

Love these boots! Great for the muscly calf girls. Plus you can loosen or tighten with the buckles. Even with the heel, super comfortable.

Very good looking boots with just enough heel! I have a bunion and these are very comfortable, too. Perfect with a dress or leggings - I LOVE them!! I have them in black and they fit perfectly. The straps on the calf area can be tightened as needed, these boots were a bit loose in the calf for me. Thanks Zappos!!!

I ordered these because people were saying the calf is large. It is! I am 5 8' 145 athletic with large calves. I usually cannot find a boot large enough to tuck jeans in. These are awesome. My calves are 15 inches around. buckles work and can tighten and loosen.

Love the look and feel of the boots. Great color and high quality. The only downside is that I am short and the boots are rather tall. The top of the boots hit the back of my knees when I'm sitting. Wish they were one inch shorter!

Too wide at the ankles. Have very skinny ankles and my leg gets wider as it goes up to my knee, so boots don't look good on my leg. Lengthwise on my foot it's true to size.

When I saw these boots online I fell in love with them-they seemed to be everything I usually look for in boots: wedge heel, leather, style. But in person they disappointed me-leather looks too rough, the style is not so great, they don’t flatter my legs. I assume they would look better on gals with thicker calves and longer legs than mine. They feel very comfortable however-comfortable and low wedge heel, roomy calf area.

The foot itself is comfortable. The leather is soft. However, I have 16" calves and I could not zip them up, even with the buckles completely undone. I'm really sad I have to return these.

So sad because I love these boots! The only reason I bought them was because they claimed to have a larger circumference and I have large calves so I rarely find anything that will fit over them. My calves are 15" around and these boots claim to be 16 1/2" but there is no way they are. They barely zipped up over my calves and I wouldn't be able to wear jeans under them. If you are blessed with slender calves, buy them. They really are beautiful!

There is a huge nail sticking up in the sole of the boot. It is a good thing that I did not stick my foot all the way in. Also, the calf was not wide enough.

These boots are great! Leather looks and feels good. I can actually zip them up my big legs with jeans tucked inside! So excited I literally ran around the house! Been searching for wide calf boots for months.
