The color is great! These very reasonably priced boots are soft, supple, and have plenty roomy in the calf. They feel wonderful and look slick with both skirts and pants. The buttons provide just enough detail. I wore them out of the box and walked several miles that same day. The best part is the color. It is neither black, nor brown, and not gray. They go with everything. Do not be fooled by the color name "sage." They are certainly not green.

Cute boot. Ordered the 9 1/2 (normally between that and size 10) and it fits great. Can even get my athletic calves with jeans zipped up inside with a little effort.

Soft, supple leather! Felt a little roomy in the foot and ankle area. (Room in the toe box and in the overall foot area.) I have large calves and was able to get these over jeans, no problems! My only wish is that it had a bit more heel, but the trade off of this beautiful boot is worth it!

I looked, and looked, and looked for the boots I wanted. I saw these in an Eddie Bauer catalog, of all places - and knew that they were perfect. They are even more lovely n person! But I usually wear a 7½ or 8, yet in these I am a 7! Just a caution. The heel is low, not quite an inch, so they are perfect for walking. They are absolutely lovely, so comfortable, and so beautifully detailed. Well done, Born!

I am absolutely in love with these boots! Just bought the sage colored and I'm planning on buying the grey in the near future. I have a wider calf and was worried (like other boots) that these would be too tight for me to wear thicker socks, however I was delighted to find out I will have no issues there. They are comfortable and true to size. A must for anyone's boot collection for fall!

Love these! I have a somewhat large calf size and these fit perfectly. I was looking for a brown boot to add to my boot collection to fall and these fit the bill! So excited to wear them when fall rolls in. The boots also fit true to size.

I absolutely love these boots! I got the crunched brown leather and the color is beautiful. The leather is soft and the sole is flexible. I expect to be wearing them constantly once fall gets here. I have a hard to fit largish calf and they comfortably fit all the way up.

I received these in the mail today and I have successfully completed my fall 2011 boot search. The leather is beautiful, the color, quality and construction is gorgeous and they are super comfy. I'm so excited to break out these babies once the weather cools down. Yay Born!

Felt a little narrow and a half size smaller.Love the button detail, but was disappointed they weren't as comfortable as my other Born boots. Maybe try to go 1/2 size up. Also a little wide in the calf.

These boots were really cute but way too big! They were at least 1 size too big for me. I usually wear a size 7.5 and ordered an 8, they were more like a 9.

I liked these boots a lot. Stylish and comfortable. I took off 1 star because the leather is a bit thin, but overall, a great boot for a reasonable price. I also have more athletic calves and was able to zip these comfortably so that was a big plus!

Finally a boot that fits! I have been searching for boots that offer a wide enough calf that I can tuck leggings or skinny jeans in. My calves are slightly larger than average, and I find that most boots barely zip over my calves without socks or leggings. These offer enough stretch that I can wear them over tights alone, or legging/thin jeans. They are also extremely comfortable. I like the styling, although I was initially a little uncertain about the crinkled leather. I ordered these in mineral grey. The color is a great neutral that will go with black, grey, or brown. I was tempted to try the brown for the smoother leather, but like the versatility of the grey.

The Born boots were very comfortable and extremely cute. The reason for my return was the width of the shaft. I have thin calves and the width was way too big for me. I was disappointed because I really loved this boot.

Not great: the leather feels cheap to me. Also, I've had luck with Born shoes before with my wide feet and high arches, but these are definitely not wide in the toe, and there's no arch support. They're going back.

I sent these back. They looked like plastic rain boots, and kind of cheap. I read the reviews and they all loved them so sorry I didn't. That is why I felt I had to give a review. I have thin ankles and they were wide boots. Just didn't work.

These boots are great. Very comfortable on first day of wear. However, the top of the boot is wider than other boots, so if you have thin calves, realize they will not hug around your leg. And the bed of the shoe is flat and offer little to no arch support, so I recommend insoles of some kind. They run a slight bit narrow, so if you have wider feet, give yourself an extra 1/2 a size up. Otherwise, a great shoe with comfort and a very comfortable soft rubber sole. I will wear them every day, I'm sure.

Love these boots! I have them in brown and the dark gray. They run a little narrow which is wonderful for my narrow feet and narrow heels that normally slip out of other boots. They also run slightly large and a half size larger than my normal size fit perfect. They are so comfy and did not need time to break in. Born needs to make more styles like these!

I love this boot but I have a narrow heel and when I walked around my house, my heel slipped out. I thought it might rub if I kept them, so they're unfortunately going back.

I received my boots within a couple of days! I normally wear a size 8 and that's what I ordered. They fit perfectly.I like that they are not quite as tall as my other boots. The leather is soft and the footbed is comfy.I ordered the sage (color) because the brown was not available.It's almost black, that's okay. I do love Born products. Thank you Zappos!

These boots are wonderful. If they had just slightly more padding in the footbed they would have been the perfect boot (looking for boots to wear everyday for 2 weeks in Europe - quite the challenge!). They'd be great for walking around town though, and the look is darling.

Wonderful boots...enough room in the toe box, soft leather, no break-in required. It's nice to have dark boots that aren't black. I wear insoles, so I can't comment on the arch support; however, even with insoles, the shoe isn't tight across the top of my foot. I haven't worn them to do a lot of walking, but I'm flying to Bordeaux tomorrow and will do a lot of walking, so they'll definitely be tested. I water-proofed them, and that will get tested in Bordeaux, as well. I have a pair of Attila's, and they are super comfortable, as well.

I am normally an 8.5 in Born shoes, so I stuck with that size for the boots. With a thin sock this are roomy, with a thick sock they are perfect so if I wear tights, I always add a pair of socks. They are pretty roomy in the calf for me - I don't have skinny calves but just a little bit plumper from running. These could have been a little snugger for me all around but they overall felt pretty good, didn't pinch my big toes and were not pointed in the front - so I kept these and find they are pretty darn comfy! If I were to tuck some pants in, I think the boots would accommodate it but I haven't tried it. The only surprise I had was there wasn't a wee bit more in the footbed, as far as cushioning. Since I have had three other Born shoes which all had that super comfy design, I assumed the boots would be no different...but it doesn't feel quite as cushiony as my "lace-up" Borns. Nonetheless, I liked them and this color is a dark grey which I like better when I'm wearing black - just a little different and not so "matchy."

I love these boots. First I got them for my friend as a gift in brown then wanted them for myself in black. They are comfortable, cute, versatile and very light. I wear them to work and out, with pants or a skirt. They are great boots and Zappos has fantastic unbeatable customer service. One button fell off shortly after I purchased them and they sent me a new pair right away! I love you, Zappos!

Absolutely, positively the most comfortable, supple, rich boots I've ever worn. Bought them in two colors and worth every penny.
