I've been looking for a pair of oxfords for literally two years. These are it: classic yet feminine, perfect medium width fit, pointed toe just rounded enough, rubberized sole. More comfortable than trad. oxfords I've tried. I never do this but I might buy an extra pair as backup. Only thing, I would ask for a more traditional color choices in future--I love the burnished plum but the gray and brown both look a little too trendy.

I have plantar fasciitis and a bunion so I'm always in the market for professional shoes that are stylish but also offer good support (a tough combination). These oxfords are exactly what I was looking for! The soft leather is thin and flexible. The Brown Burnished Leather color goes great with my work wardrobe. Best of all, the insoles are removable to accommodate my orthotics, and they still fit perfectly! I wear these with pants or even skirts. They're a versatile choice if you have foot problems that prevent you from wearing heels or ballet flats.

Beautiful! These shoes felt a little tight at first, but they loosen up to form your feet. I love the laces.

These shoes are comfy and cute right out of the box! I usually wear a 9 1/2 to 10 depending on brand and the 9 1/2 fits perfectly. The padded insoles are removable and my regular insoles fit perfectly.

Fabulous, cute, spunky, very comfortable, nice no slip tread, just wish it came in real black.

These shoes are great for a trendy casual look. I did find the footbed to hard so I put cushioned footbeds in. I love the hue of this color.

These shoes fit perfectly - put them on and wore them without problem. Very comfortable.

I adore these shoes. Feminine but not girly. Lightweight and comfy. The ribbon laces are fab. The leather got creased and worn-looking rather quickly, but some serious polishing and waterproofing helps.

I love these shoes. I have a wide foot (and bunions), but these shoes make my foot look like a normal foot! I walk about forty minutes each way to and from work with no problem in these shoes. The velvet shoelaces are a fun touch! The shoes are almost too comfortable. I am afraid I will wear them out too quickly and am contemplating buying a pair in a second color and the grayish color works well with black pants and I could probably get away with wearing them with brown pants...maybe....

I bought these shoes for work for a men's wear look and they are terrific! They have been extremely comfortable and I end up wearing them two to three times a week. They required no break-in time at all.

I was skeptical about the reviews that said these shoes were comfortable right out of the box because my feet are hard to please. But the other reviewers aree right on. I work on a university campus on a hillside and have to hike uphill from the parking lot each day. The very first day I wore these shoes, they were comfortable for that hike. Even though they are comfortable,they are stylish, and those two things don't often go together. They work with dress pants, jeans, or skirts, and I love the velvet shoe laces. The very tips of the shoes show some wear, but that fits with the aged patina that comes out of the box. I'm seriously thinking of buying another pair.

These shoes are probably the most comfortable I have had in years! Born Arletta is a wonderful product for me.

These are a great pair of shoes, comfortable right from the first wearing. I have received many compliments when wearing them. I would definitely recommend them!

Love Born shoes. Most comfortable shoes ever! I have at least 5 pair. Probably a little expensive but well worth it.

These shoes are great! Super comfortable, understated and not overly masculine while still delivering that menswear feel. I got the dark brown and the color is rich and versatile. Female friends compliment them a lot. No regrets here at all.

The red burnished color is gorgeous and makes the velvet shoe strings stand out. Some oxfords are clunky, these are slim and more feminine. Comfortable. I usually wear an 8 1/2 wide or 9 medium and the 9 medium fits very well.

True to size, very comfortable. The leather is very soft and discolors very quickly upon wear.

I got these in the grey. The color is great. Other shoes I've tried in this style were uncomfortable so I wasn't expecting them to feel so good! I have high arches and these shoes have good support. I will now be ordering them in the black. By the way....I love Zappos. Best customer service in the world!

Can't say enough about these shoes. Retro classy and go with just about everything if you switch out the laces. Very comfortable if you are doing a lot of walking and break in on the first wearing. I'm thinking of buying another pair in pewter.

Followup to my earlier review, wherein I wrote of disappointment that "the shoe is black, not 'burnished red'." I blush: When I wrote, I had seen it only inside the house; yesterday I took it outside and indeed, in sunlight, it is very deep, dark red. Not the burgundy-ish shade I'd hoped for, but certainly red -- red enough to make me happy. It's a keeper. No one does arch support like Born, by the way. As is Zappos a keeper, and everything about the company.

I got these shoes in marrone (antique light brown), and they convey the feel of menswear but are still feminine and not so clunky as some oxfords I've looked at. I tried them in size 8.5 and 9 and kept the 8.5. Since I normally wear a 9, I'll say that they run a bit large. The look is really nice, and the sneaker sole (as one reviewer commented) looks like a leather sole unless you turn the shoe upside down, plus it's more comfortable than leather and will probably last longer. Although you can't re-sole it (if anyone still does that...there are a few shoes I like well enough to do it). The velvet laces are cute but difficult to lace and tie so that the plush side shows. Also, they come untied. The other laces are just plain laces, maybe better for work or whatever. I have big-time problem feet, and these shoes were comfortable immediately, the only complaint being that the heel is loose. That's not a big deal to me because all heels are too loose for me. They don't rub or cause a problem, so why worry? This shoe can be dressy or casual, and I hope it wears well and lasts long. It's not as sturdy (or clunky) as some of the other oxfords I tried, but it is cute and comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe.

I've never met a Born shoe I didn't love, and this is as supportive and comfortable as any. The color threw me, though: I ordered Red Burnished Leather,but the shoes are clearly black, with hints of red where stitching is, making them look as if someone made a mistake. I wanted the spectator look, and these have it, but I'm deciding what to do about the color problem. Zappos returns take 2-3 minutes, for which I'm grateful. The site's 'Red' looks black, but I assumed it was a glitch and ordered; because of color alone I can't give it five stars. What to do?

These shoes are amazing! They are super comfortable and the rubber soles have great traction.

Love! They are a hair bit on the narrower side, but fit my foot fantastic. My normal Born shoe size is a 7. In other brands it is a 7.5. I took the 7.5 in these. The day after I got them I put in 7 miles in them without an issue.
