hard for a wide foot to make the deep dive into the toe box and still clear the back of the shoe. most likely perfect for someone without such a wide foot.

I must be a sucker for punishment. Ive ordered a size 40 from another site, in the Algeria professional series and they were too big. My toes kept sliding into the front of shoe. I ended up giving those to my daughter. I then bought a 39W on Zappos, same issue, same pain. These shoes are obviously not for me. I normally wear an 8.5 to a 9, this brand is not for me, I wanted to like them but in the 39 and 49 sizing, I took an extra pair of shoes in anticipation of having to remove the shoe sometime throughout my shift and each time, I did. I also ended up giving these 39W to my daughter who is overjoyed with them.

I was looking for a winter version of my Alegria Pesca shoes, which I purchased last summer. Reviews cautioned to purchase a size larger, so although I usually wear a 9 to 9.5 wide (W, WW, D, E, EE sometimes) I purchased the 40wide. Since I wore the Pesca shoes sans socks, they worked just fine and the comfort, Oh my! I could walk hours on cement without wrangling my ankles, knees, and hips. So when I bought the Debra Professional, I again went with the 40wide, forgetting to allow for socks. I can wear these only with thin trouser socks. They just don't feel "wide" and the vertical dimension of the toe box feels narrow. The sole/arch comfort matches the Pesca, so I'm happy there. It's a nice minimal-style shoe. Perhaps as I wear them more, they'll loosen up a little as I think the Pesca did.

I bought these as an alternative to my Dansko XPs. Even though the Danskos have a bit if padding, my feet get sore if I wear them 2 days in a row. These are working out just fine. The rocker sole isn't as extreme looking as in the pictures. The removable insole is molded like a Birkenstock and will need some breaking in. I suggest wearing them a few hours a day for a week or so. My only advice is in regards to size. In regards to size, I wear a 40 in all of my European footwear as it usually equates to a size 9. Alegria says their 40 is equal to a 10. I ordered both sizes and stayed with my 40- but it sure isn't a size 10! If you have a high instep, you might opt for the wider width. All in all, great shoe for work and casual wear.

This is a great shoe with a fun pattern. It matches everything! It took a couple days to get used to the high arches. I wear a 6 or 5.5 and ordered the 5.5 for a great fit.

Upfront, I should say these shoes are just not me, in terms if style. If they had worked in other ways, though, I would have kept them. The footbed and arch support are great, which is what is most important to me. However, my feet are very sensitive to any irritation, and are not tolerant of shoes that need to be broken in. The uppers were way too stiff for me. Also, the heel slipped, and that’s just how some size 5 (35) shoes are on me. I’m still hoping to find some stable shoes with good arch support, but may have to switch to searching for shoes with an open back. These would be great shoes for someone else, but not for me.

I love the design and pattern and I was really hopeful I could wear them but they just are not wide enough to the point of being painful. I'm going to have to return. But I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a more normal size foot. I have ordered another pair a size up but now I'm afraid I'm not too hopeful.

I REALLY wanted to love these shoes but it just didn't happen. My biggest issue was the my heel kept slipping out of the back of the show. I lived the colors and funky style. Arch support is pretty good and super comfy but my heart just wasn't in keeping them.

Unfortunately I am returning shoes. Love the color. The heel slips which pulls my socks down and I have troubles keeping the shoes on after several steps.

As other reviewers stated, there is too much slipping in the heel area. I walk out of the shoes and it pulls my sock down with each step. Will be returning.

I was so disappointed in the fit of the shoe. In normally wear a 9 or a 39/40 depending on brand so I ordered the 39. But my big toe was right against the edge of the shoe. So I would say they run at least a half-size to small. Also, I have a slightly higher instep and while it fit it was not all that comfortable, so be aware.

I ordered these in a size 9/9.5. I usually wear a size 9 no problem, unless the toe of the shoe is pointy or short. In this case the toe is short. So, I ordered up a half size to the 10. It was too big at the heel. Too bad... shoe was actually cute and footbed was comfy. Had to return both sizes.

Great look and help with plantar fasciitis but run big on right foot only and the heel slips with every step.

This was my first time trying Alegria. Bought these to replace my old Dansko clogs. Ordered them in 8 wide, which is my usual size. The clogs are cute but they're too snug, both in length and width. Had to push hard to get my feet into them, with and without socks. And the height of the toe box is way too short. It felt like my toes were clapped down and trapped in the clogs; could barely wiggle my toes. There's no way that I can do a 12-hour shift in these. Have to send them back.

These looked frumpier in person than in the picture- I expected something more like a Dansko but they aren’t that. I purchased them as shoes I could wear with my orthotics, but even without the orthotics I wasn’t able to get my foot into them without squishing, and that was with lightweight socks. I returned them and will keep looking for wide width shoes.

This is a clog, and very cute, but very uncomfortable for me due to the negative heel style.

While these are cute shoes, they are very uncomfortable and the slide off the back of my heel. They are also short.

These appear well-made and the footbed is very comfortable. The shoe is lightweight, but my heel slipped constantly even with heel inserts. The top of the shoe was so uncomfortably tight over my instep that it hobbled me and left huge bruises on the tops of my feet. I wore them twice and cannot bear to put them on again. Besides that, they look like duck feet in person. Am completely dissapointed that I spent this much on a pair of unwearable shoes. I will stick to Danskos.

Very heavy shoe and very stiff leather. Wide toe area did not have enough depth for toes. Very disappointed.

I initially loved these shoes and they are very comfortable, but I've had them for 18 months and the soles have completed separated from the upper part of the shoe and they are total garbage now. I'm used to paying more money for nicer shoes as I've had big feet my whole life, and troubled feet once i hit my 30's. I don't mind paying this much for Danskos because they will last almost a decade, but 18 months for this price is a rip off! Steer clear!

Over time I might be able to break the leather in and the could become comfortable, but my 60 year old feet can’t do that any more. I need something comfortable right out of the box. I’ve now tried Algeria, Dansko and Nurse Mates to no avail. I’m going back to my Athletic shoes!

Im a nurse (inpatient) and usually walk 6-7 miles a shift. I wear size 6 (US) in these types of shoes. I have high arcs and petite feet. I had another Alegria Keli Pro size 36R but it was small/tight at the top and I didn't feel much support - they made my feet ache after a 13 hr shift. I returned them. Saw these as highly reviewed but it wasn't for me either. First I order a 37M as Keli 36R was too tight, but this 37M was too big - felt like clown shoes w/ some support for my knees but not for my feet. I exchanged for a 36M and the boxy front edges into my pinky toes and the upper lids of the shoes will rub onto my feet /sometimes digging in. It was so uncomfortable w/ minimal support compared to other brand so I returned these. For the hypes they were not worth it.

These shoes are comfortable BUT UNFLATTERING, VERY masculine in the design, and within a week of wear they scuffed up sooo easily as though I had them for months! I am very disappointed in this purchase as I was in high anticipation to get them, going back to Danskos. I wouldn't recommend!

I thought these pair would redeem themselves after having two pairs of Algeria shoes fall apart for different reasons. I’m not rough on shoes by any means, but these fell apart. The sole started peeling off and every time I took a step they would squeak. So no matter where I went, it sounded like I was stepping on a dog toy. I’m returning them and can’t recommend anyone buys these anymore. They used to be my favorite. Not sure what happened.
