I couldn't actually know the right amount of stars to give to this shoe. I ordered the 8-8 1/2 which by the sizing chart is a 38. When I got the package I could not wait to tear into it. After all the glowing reviews I just felt I was going to love this shoe. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised with the look because others had described it as clunky. I got the Black embossed rose leather and I loved it. The shoe was not clunky to me. I also ordered the Wide. Well, the wide isn't super wide so you won't be swimming in it but it fit my wider foot width wise. My problem is that the toe box is super shallow! Even though the size was close to right the shallow toe box did not allow for my big toe. Felt like my toe was to thick! I couldn't have walked in it at all. I will definitely send back but I am considering trying the 39 just to see if the extra length would compensate for the shallow toe box. The footbed felt like it would be great but since I could walk or stand up on it I have to just give 3's.

I am an RN and on my feet for long hours. I am always looking for really comfortable shoes and this brand was recommended by a co-worker. When I tried this style on, the buckle strap hit my ankles when walking, so I sent them back. I am hoping the Seville style will work, because the support/sole seems like it will be comfortable. I wear a size 6, so maybe it is better for larger sizes.

This is an update to my previous review. The black Gerber patent was the material that was cracking for me. I see that another customer had the same problem, with the same patent. I contacted Zappos support this morning, and even though I have been wearing these shoes for a month now, they are allowing me to return them because they are defective. Thank you, Zappos.

Well. These are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Your foot slides way into them and they stay on very well - I almost don't notice that they are slip ons and have no back to them. They are definitely not very stylish, though. I feel like my feet look like duck feet when I wear them, they look extremely wide. I don't really have a small foot to start with (size 39), but these look huge compared with shoes like my Danskos. I just noticed today when I put them on that the patent leather on my right foot has a crack an inch or so long where the shoe bends. Not very impressed by that - they shouldn't have cracked this soon, if at all. Won't buy another pair of these, will stick to my Danskos which have never given me any quality issues.

COLOR WARNING! The black tooled looks nothing like the picture. I looked at photos on several websites and in the Alegria catalog and the true color is not well represented anywhere. The leather is shiny patent and the color is a metallic chrome. The stitching is even a glittery silver thread. These shoes provide a much softer foot bed than Danskos and the styles and colors are so cute. Sadly, though, the arch is so high that within a couple of hours, my feet were hurting. I bought the classic clog and the Paloma to try out. These were purchased for 12-hour nursing shifts, so I had to send them back. I was also concerned about the many reviews I read from others about the leather cracking. Just while wearing them in my house, I noticed that the leather was creasing across the top, and for the price, I couldn't risk the possibility of them not lasting. I found that Klogs USA provide both softness and support, and the arch is just right for my foot.

Although these shoes are comfortable, they are not the right fit for someone with flat feet or plantar fasciitis. Since the shoe tilts downward in the back, does not give good support to the foot.

Love the shoes, very comfortable. I've had the shoes about two months now and I've been wearing them about 1-2 days a week as a nurse, but they've started cracking along the design on the top of the shoe. I ordered the Black Gerber, maybe I'll try a different design. I am a size 8 and the 39 fit perfect.

These are comfortable, but not any more comfortable than a pair of sneakers, which would probably be a little cheaper. I purchased these since I read great reviews and heard great reviews from coworkers. I'm on my feet 10-12 hours at work. I expected these to be super comfy. I was thinking that if I liked these, I'd buy another pair, but I'd rather purchase a pair of sneakers to work in.

Color looks different from photo, much shinier and not very black as name implies. Shoes comes too far back and cuts into ankles, so I will not keep them. It is a cute shoe in a weird way. The footbed seems very comfortable.

I have wide feet and a high instep. I ordered wide width and thought the style of these shoes would be very comfortable since it looked like it had a wide toe box. However the top of the toe box is very low and I couldn’t even get my foot into it. So I’m returning them.

These shoes have a design flaw. You cannot tighten the buckle without the straps stretching back and forth, pinching you painfully with every step. So as a result I was wearing them very not tightened UNTIL I fell on a small flight on stairs due to their improper fit. Now they are going In the garbage. What an expensive waste. If not for that they were comfortable and supportive. But it’s no good if the darn things can’t be tightened onto your feet.

All the positive reviews made me think this might work for my weird feet (wide, with high arches). Unfortunately, I should have listened to the critical review instead, because I ended up having the same problem she described: the toe box was not deep enough for my foot to even go into the shoe.

I wear an 8.5 so I ordered size 39 (9-9.5) and this has always been a good size for me when it comes to European sizes. However, this was still a half size too small. They are also extraordinarily tight. There is an inner band within the top part of the shoe that I can feel pressing on the top of my foot when I am walking, and it prevented my foot from sliding all the way in so this is why they seem so small. I have normal size feet. I really expected these shoes to fit and be comfortable so I was really surprised they they did not, and were not. Looks like I am going back to Dansko since I have to send these back!

I was not crazy over the look of these shoes, the openings made them look wierd without socks or with light socks. I ordered the blue flowered, but it looked like the material would not hold up and it would rip easily. The buckle did not seem to lay right on the side either. They kind of dug in where the cut out spot was. I returned these for the seville in black nubuck hopefully they will look more durable and fit me.

I ordered these shoes based on the positive reviews and the style of the embroidered rose on them. I received them today, and I totally disagree with the reviews stating they run large. I found them to run 1/2 size small. I wanted to be able to wear a sock with them, but there is no extra room for anything. They also dig into the top of my ankle. They are not comfortable at all and are very stiff so I will be returning these for a refund.

Great price, fast shipping, but these shoes hurt my feet. Sorry Zappos!

I am disappointed to say I have returned a second pair of these shoes. While incredibly comfortable and cute, they make so much noise. The first pair - the squeak was in the right shoe. The second pair - it was both shoes. I work in a hospital and people could hear me coming down the hall! Is this a design issue or a manufacturer issue?

wanted to order a different color of this style, but hesitated because of the special Alegria sizing. I wear a US 11 and usually a European 42, but the Alegria chart said 41 is equivalent to US 11, and 42 was 11-1/2 to 12. I even called Zappos to ask about this and the person said go with the Alegria sizing. So I did. And the shoe, which I loved was too small. When I went to exchange, that style/color was no longer available. :-( Maybe when in doubt you should order both sizes and return one.

I purchased these shoes for my 12 hour shifts as an RN. At first they felt good but after a few hours, my feet were throbbing and sore. I do not recommend these. Unfortunately I was unable to return them because I wore them at work. They are not worth your money. Try Danskos! They are so much better!

These are very comfortable shoes right out of the box. Runs true to size. Very well made shoes worth every penny.

Fit perfectly from first wear. No break in period, great arch support for plantar fasciitis sufferer. Softer footbed feel than Sanita clogs. Love these!

I love the natural, breathable suede. So sick of shoes that don't breathe!
