As a tried and true Keen customer for the last six years, I have worn through the soles and/or the uppers of dozens of Keens over the years - many miles on the trails, around town, in all conditions. With a hardware-isle full of screws and plates in my right foot, I need a Rx Orthotic 24/7. Keen's roomy toe boxes keep my shoe collection full of many versions of the Keen lineup. I am consistently a size 9½, shoes, boots and sandals - never fail. However, with the Nopo Lace, the 9½ is big - in the heel-to-toe length and a bit loose through the mid-foot. I am wondering if that is the result of the new version of their footbeds, which seem to have thicker cushioning these days. When I remove the stock footbed for my orthotic in the Nopo's 9½ size, my foot is unusually sloppy and I experience significant heel slippage. I am too loyal and satisfied overall to give up. I just printed my return label and will swap them for a size 9, which I am sure will do the trick. As for the quality, the shoe seems Keen-solid as usual and I am a fan of the new, fresh styling the Nopo adds to the brand. As for Zappos, you cannot beat them, they are the best in the business!

I am a longtime Keens fan. However, this has been due their durability and comfort not how they look. Never have I been in love with the bowling shoes look of Keens. That all changed with these puppies. I might buy a couple more pairs in case they ever get discontinued. I always order half a size up! Zappos, as per usual, was off the chain with the always super fast delivery and packaging.

This shoe is very comfortable even when worn for long periods of time. Excellent arch support, and the characteristic Keen design where the toe curls up slightly is very comfortable - almost surprisingly so. I have only two caveats for potential buyers: 1. This shoe is very square-toed in its design. As a result, it will make your feet appear shorter and wider than most other shoes. People with very long feet might like this; those with small feet should just be aware that it'll make your feet look even smaller. 2. I think the materials and workmanship are very good, except for the soles. The soles are two-tone, with black rubber lugs protruding from a contrasting tan base. As far as I can tell, this is manufactured by first injecting black rubber into a mold, letting it cool, then following that with tan rubber. The only problem is that while the black lugs on the bottom appear to have an adequate thickness of black rubber, the lugs on the side do not. After very gentle wear over only two or three weeks, the black surface wore through on the side lugs, exposing the tan rubber underneath, almost like wearing through a layer of paint. This is an aesthetic issue only that doesn't affect the shoe's mechanical integrity. I'll continue to wear them and I don't plan to return them. Still, I think this qualifies as a design flaw. A shoe costing this much should not have a problem like this, and had I known it would happen I would have had second thoughts about buying them. Are you listening, Keen? Fix this.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He likes this shoe a lot. It is very comfortable and looks great. It's a great shoe to wear with jeans and a button up shirt or a tshirt. It is multi-purposed. And it is water resistant! Several guys at his job have asked him what brand shoe he is wearing. The shoe is very eye catching in a positive way.

I have owned these shoes for approximately 5 weeks. They are made of quality leather, wear like a boot, and support my feet well. I also appreciate the look of the shoe. I would love this shoe except: I have had one major disappointment with this shoe that has never happened to me previously. This will be difficult to explain in text and I wish I could upload a jpg. On the sole of the shoe, the black rubber above the tan rubber has begun to reveal an underlayer of tan in places. The effect is that sole of the shoe now looks old and/or muddy. So, no impact to functionality - but for the price I expected better craftsmanship and longevity. Pretty upsetting actually. I will probably pass on Keens from now on due to this. Zappos was quick with the order as usual.

These are simply great walking shoes. They are supple, have oiled leather, grippy but flexible soles, and wide comfortable toe boxes. I bought these shoes at the last minute and wore them brand new for most of a five day traverse of Manhattan. No break-in was required. They look good and feel even better.

Impressive shoe. Somewhat different than the typical Keen. I need a wide shoe but took a chance on this; has a large toe box and good width. Tune in later for wear report.

A nice change of pace for Keen style wise. Sole is really thick, unlike previous pairs of Keens I've had in the past. But they are still incredibly comfortable.

These may be the best leather low quarter shoes that I have ever owned. The fit is perfect. They grip in the heel with lots of toe box room. The tread works in snow and ice or on the rug! A pleasure to wear.

These are really comfortable shoes. They felt great right out of the box and once they were broken in, they felt even better. They are lightweight and very supportive. I'd highly recommend them as a casual and casual dress shoe.

I got thee shoes about a month ago to replace some Keen Findleys. I loved the Findleys, but these are much better made. The sole is not as cushiony as the Findleys and feels more like a boot, but they are extremely comfortable. I wear these for work and for walks in the woods; they look like shoes but wear like boots. The waterproofing holds up very nicely too. And they're made in the USA which is great. They're pricey but definitely worth it.

I got my Nopos in January, and have worn them nearly every day since. No break in to speak of. Great in Michigan winter weather as they are waterproof and have a fairly aggressive sole. I also am very impressed that they are made in the USA! However, the place these shoes really are unmatched in is the comfort. Clearly they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my 50+ years! I have even ditched my cross-trainers for these when on the treadmill in the worst winter days. I would like to see these in a more office-friendly styling, but the comfort beats that out by miles. I will be getting another pair (in black - hopefully I can shine those up a bit) soon.

Wow! I traditionally don't spend this kind of money on footwear but I'm glad I did with these. Outside all day, hot cold and wet it's all good with these Keens. Not to mention the most comfortable, true to fit sons of biscuits I've ever stuck on my undeserving feet! Thank you! Thank you all! (Only bad thing is one shoelace was shorter than the other.)

The people who say these shoes make your foot look shorter are right. And I also saw the comments about the brown showing more with wear. But they're so comfortable I don't care. And I got them to wear in the elements, so they'll probably have real mud on them much of the time anyway.
I do appreciate y'all's reviews, though.

Very comfy. Whether walking standing or whatever the comfort is very good. Has a very rugged look. I like the waterproof feature. My first pair of Keen shoes. Won't be my last. Very well made. Got the slate black which looks like a dark cocoa brown. Looks great with jeans or cargo pants.

Just ordered my 2nd pair. This is the longest wearing and most comfortable set of shoes I have ever owned. I won a free pair of Keen shoes in a bicycle race, and I was pretty disappointed - most of their product I found unappealing and kind of...granola. I chose to order these shoes because they were a low cut work shoe that was made in America and waterproof. A year later, the shoes are still going strong after wearing them for 60-70 hour work weeks in a retail/repair shop and as an all day shoe. Not as waterproof, and the fabric on the inside heel is torn, but still the best shoes that I have found for my job. During the first few weeks I was surprised that my chronic lower back pain had lessened as well. I'm sold, a repeat customer, and I would suggest that you try them as well.

Big fan of Keen footwear. Just bought them and wore them for 2 days. Liked them so much I ordered a second pair in the other color! Great toe-box for those of us with wide feet. Good lookin' shoe, hope they hold up!

First off, let me explain that I am a chef and spend at least 8 to 10 hours a day on my feet. I was looking for a shoe with great support and also looked good and this pair of Keen's had delivered every step of the way. They got the attention of some of my kitchen staff and now I have made Keen converts I am sure for life. Overall it is a great little shoe light enough to really not even notice that I am wearing them but also tough enough for anything my kitchen can throw at it. My only qualm with them is within the first month of owning them the laces seemed to come apart so I replaced them other than that I love these shoes and will purchase a new pair when the time comes.

I've had several pairs of Keens (Targhee boot and low top as well as the Portsmouth), and these are quite a bit different in several ways. First, the most obvious; these shoes don't have the distinctive Keen "big rubber toe". Love it or hate it, these ones just don't look like Keens at first glance. Second; because of the difference in toe box (I think?) these fit differently than any of my previous Keens. Full disclaimer: My feet run a little to the wide side, but not a lot. One of the things I've always loved about Keens are that they felt great in the width even though Keen doesn't make a "wide" shoe. Salespeople in the Keen Garage tell me that the waterproof Keens run small since the difference in material takes up more space. In my personal experience with both Targhees (high and low) a 13 was very comfortable out of the box (with the boot being a little more snug than the low), whereas with the Portsmouth (non-waterproof) a 12 fit me great. With the NoPo low I could barely squeeze my foot into a 12, and a 13 feels much tighter than either Targhee (but a 14 was way too long since no half sizes above 12...). The salesperson assured me they would break in well, and after a day of wearing they are already feeling more comfortable. Third (and Fourth): Built in the USA vs made in China, but also priced accordingly. My Portsmouths split at the toe seems after 15 months (Keen warranty ends at 12). Obviously I'll have to wait a while to see whether the quality on the NoPo is better. Fifth: Waterproof street shoes. My wife has had waterproof Keen non-hikers for a couple of years now, but until the NoPo low the Portsmouth was as good as the men's line got with merely water resistant. I really like the Targhees both high and low, but they look like hiking shoes and I don't always want that look. Other thoughts: What is up with the availability? Every place online including Zappos is out of the 12 and 13 size of the NoPo. The only place I could find these sizes was the Portland, OR Keen Store. Only after I got home did I realize the left shoe has a right insole in it (the right also has a right insole so not just a switch). Kind of weird, but not worth the drive back into the store to swap it out.

First, I love Keen shoes. I wasn't sure about these when I looked at them. I thought they were a bit big looking; however, they feel great and don't look so large on my foot. They are the Keen Dry, which means that they will keep my feet dry. I'm so going to hike in these.
