I actually struggled to find the right fit. I normally wear a men's size 8.5, and so I initially ordered the 41. They were too big, even with heavy socks. So I returned them (thanks Zappos for making it so easy) and ordered the next size down, a 40. These are right on the edge of being too small. They fit fine if I go barefoot, but with socks they are really too small for me to be comfortable. My best advice is to: (1) recognize that they run big and start with a smaller size than you would normally order; (2) if still too big, try an even smaller one but be prepared to have to send them back and find another felted wool option. That said, they look great, offer plenty of arch support, and are cozy to wear.

This clog is perfect for older feet. You get comfort and a small bit of style. I now have one pair in different colors. Sparks up my wardrobe.

I am a true 8 1/2. Was told to buy the 9. They were swimming on me! Exchanged for the 8 which fits like an 8 1/2! So I am grateful that it worked out.

Didn’t fit me it was too large / bulky

Returning mine only because they pinch at the top of my feet, but that seems like a pure fit thing. Otherwise they seem very nice; hefty construction but comfortable, rigid arches, nice wool.

I can see these are very nicely made, good quality, nice looking, as I had expected. I really wish they’d worked for me, but even the smallest size is too wide and a bit too long. I wear a size 6, got the smallest size (5), but they were too loose to ensure stability. Also, the footbed was a bit too stiff, with the arch too high and hitting the wrong place on my feet. Didn’t have to think about it, back in the box they went, but luckily had ordered another style in the Haflinger (the coffee motif ones) that fit better and more comfortably.

Loved these! I think they will be too warm for summer slippers so maybe I will revisit in the fall. They seem like they would be more durable than other wool slippers from sale brand because of cork and rubber sole.

Great indoor shoes/slipper BUT they leave marks all over our wood floors!

This slipper was way too wide and very sloppy on my foot. It did not affect as the Halflingers I have an exactly the same size. If these fit properly the Haflingers are super comfy and will last for years.

I can’t find the right pair of house slippers. That being said I am keeping these. If you are looking for soft and snuggly these are not for you. After one week of wearing they are now conforming to my feet and providing a sturdy slip on to wear on my hardwood floors. I bought them in black which attracts dog hair but has more cachet than the other colors.

This is my first pair of Haflinger clogs. I have back problems so always opt for comfort first and they provide just that! I like that they could be used in or outdoors, although I've chosen them for house slippers. Most slippers don't provide enough orthopedic support like cork-sole brands usually do. The minor 2 complaints are, as others have said, I went down a size for suspected mis sizing as of late. I'm strictly a size 8. Euro to US was once 38 to size 8, etc. now it's 39 to size 8. I read others reports on this change so went for the smaller size 38 to start. It fits like a glove. I'd suggest if you're a half size, for ex: 8.5 to go for the 39. Or if one is really unsure order both sizes and return whichever. Zappos is known for this fair trade! Also the leather strap on this specific design was a little tight around the tops of my feet. It's real leather and would take some wear to stretch. So, a quick couple of stretches using my hands (pulling up on and stretching the leather) fixed the issue. Now they truly fit like a glove and are very comfortable and warm. I'll definitely invest in this brand again. Thanks Zappos for pleasing again and carrying the best brands on earth!

Comfortable, & warm

Comfortable from the start, and that never happens for me. I'm older, too fat, and have arthritis, and these shoes are great. On bad days my old Crocs were just about the only shoes I could stand to wear, but these work just as well and look better. They are plenty roomy for thicker socks, which I love, and have a classic shape and look. My only complaint is that they are not as flexible side to side and that was a problem walking my dog one night when I stepped on a pine cone, my foot/ankle rolled because the sole didn't give on the edge, and I tumbled to the ground. No lasting harm done, but I think I won't be wearing them for dog walks. My workplace is casual dress, though, and I love wearing them there and at home.

I ordered my usual size and this shoe was way too big and wide. Overall, seems like a good shoe, but if I order again I will definitely order a size down.

A dream come true! These slippers/house shoes are ideal. I particularly love the warm cozy wool feel without the furry matted mess that became of my other slippers. I just know these are going to last! Fit is a little short, but with a clog, better to stretch into it instead of swimming. They are perfect for supporting my foot while I am at home.

I wear nothing else but Haflinger wool clogs. But my recent order I had to return because, as another review stated here, the sizes have been changed. I always ordered 40 and this pair was definitely different with more room. And since Haflingers (for me anyway) stretch quite a bit over time, there was no way that I would be able to wear these long term if they are too big to begin with. So I am going to buy used Haflingers on eBay - the older ones. I also like Stegmann wool clogs as they do not stretch as much so I have to wear a 41 in those. I also am pretty upset about this development. I do have some 39 Haflingers that crunch my toes, but I am going to start wearing them off and on for months and hopefully I can stretch them to fit.

A bit firm footbed at first, but it will mold to your feet over time. Kind of a hippie earth girl look. A bit clunky looking, although that is also due to size 10 feet. I like them for around the house, half slipper/half shoe, to slip on and off easily. Felt true to size for me.

Described as a US 15 but was an EU 48 which typically maps to US 14-14.5. Optimistic on size description for sure.

These clogs used to be my favorites. They no longer fit the same.. pretty sure they are no longer manufactured in Germany

First I ordered a size 8. Way too big. So then I ordered a size 7. Still too big. Then I ordered a size 6. Now they are too small - my toes are cramped. KInda frustrated because I love this brand. Not sure what do now.

size/fit is nice but I very disappointed in the quality of the shoe, the thread is unraveling all along the back of one shoe and the other has a major crack between the cork and the base of the shoe. They definitely didn't last given their cost and reputation I expected better

I have been looking for a nice house shoe for about 4 months and while none fit me properly, I've noticed these and the Crocs I tried all instantly make my foot pronate. So that's a big nope.

Like others have said these definitely run a size large. I normally wear a 37 so ordered a 36 and length was correct but too wide for me. These will be going back. However, I also ordered the Spirit and LOVE those. Also run large so I got 36 in those as well. Width is better on the Spirit.

Just got these.... Super easy to slip on and off. Really like them except the back of the left shoe digs into my ankle area. Am wondering if this loosens up with time or if there is something that I can do to mitigate this problem.
